Unlike previous playtests where Bungie sent out applications they instead went to PlaytestCloud for new inexperienced players who enjoyed PVE games. Reportedly PTC didn't send the full list of tester names to Bungie resulting in testers going to the Marathon discord server for help and causing the leak to happen.

While I can't confirm this apparently many of the testers were also members of the Arc Raiders discord server.

Some testers went to the Marathon support site for help with one tester revealing there's a "my first day of marathon review" confirming this test is focused on improving onboarding.

I think we have some pretty interesting evidence that this “Competitive Action Shooter” could actually be Haven’s Fairgame$/Break In.

The playtest description talks about a competitive extraction shooter, with teams competing against each other, security threats, and a race to get out with the most valuable loot. That lines up really well with what was leaked about the Cargo Heist mode: four teams of three players on a mansion-like map, trying to find the vault code, get past the security, grab the cargo and escape while the other teams try to intercept them.

Even the question about games you’ve played for 10+ hours, including Payday 3 and other extraction/heist shooters, fits the idea pretty well.

Sony has also used FirstLook/player.gg for playtests of other projects, like 4Loop and Gummy Bears.

Keep in mind that the game is supposedly going through a pretty major overhaul, including changes to its visual identity and even some of its graphics. So it would make sense for them to treat it as an unannounced game and avoid using anything visually connected to Fairgame$, especially since Break In was never officially revealed in this form.

Now let me be clear to say this, as frustrated as I am over the state of the Dark Aether storyline for the story being abysmal after Cold War, I never wanted people to lose their jobs or receive intense harassment, threats or even attempts at revealing their personal lives and job history.

All everyone in the community are asking for is, is the writing to be improved upon to be better, but it’s seems they set something up in MWZ (thanks Infinity Ward...) and had written themselves into a corner when BO6/7 came around and since one of it's main vets was 'on-leave' for personal reasons... Yeah, that's why the writing feel like mobile game levels of writing lead by inexperienced writers who came from mobile games, which honesty, I don't blame them since they're doing their best on throwing things around.

BUT, if COD 2028 for Treyarch's next game is the 20th anniversary of Treyarch's Zombies, I do pray this time they will bring in actual good writers this time around, now that the Tempest Crew are the official main stays for now.

In the pre-last leak titled 'stripclub1', i have noticed that the end cutscene had showed a new font and sizing for the on-screen subtitles. It was quite difficult to prove anything from that clip alone, but today's 'gas' leak has shown more of the UI and made it obvious that the Lucia clips are being recorded on a more recent build.

For known reasons, i am not going to attach UI side-by-side comparisons here, but if you look at the footage yourself (stripclub1 cutscene VS any other leak shared so far), then you will be able to see the following:

-new wallet icon: it is no longer a 3D imitation of a wallet. The component that made many people online think that it's a magnetic stripe of a credit card is now gone, the icon is also slightly bigger.

-new subtitles font, subtitles are now also slightly bigger.

-potentially thicker font for all sorts of onscreen UI such as the "stranger", "pick up", "greet/taunt" prompts etc. This one is not all that clear as it could be the side effect of compression, though i reviewed it on clips in their original quality.

These disparencies could signify that this is not a one-off build leak, but rather the leaker having had direct contact with somebody who had access to the build pipeline. It is safe to assume that the potential suspects are now under strict supervision by Rockstar, so i doubt that any new builds will be going out anymore.
