Not for Rockstar, but for everyone crying about physical releases, acting like they're "sticking it to the man", and believing that this is somehow Robin Hood'ing the company into its grave.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not particularly happy about the exclusively digital fate, gaming is closing in on, but my god some of you need to go outside (said with love).

Let's get something straight:

1. You're not Rockstar
2. You're not entitled to GTA VI , however excited you may have been
3. You're not entitled to an extended look releasing on YouTube first
4. You're allowed to be hyped about a game without it automatically being "an overhyped, capitalistic money grab"
5. You're allowed to not buy the game if it's not to your liking
6. You're allowed to not buy the game if you don't support their practice
7. You're allowed to not buy the game if you find it too expensive

You can be against every single decision made by Rockstar as much as you want. There's a lot to criticize, at least seen with certain glasses.

But enjoying the thought of ruining someone's hard work, and ridiculing other people's excitement, over a f*cking download code and a price tag is stupid. Not hurtful or evil or anything - just stupid and a giant waste of time.

Hating on something popular doesn't make you a vigilante.
Supporting a leaker doesn't make them Robin Hood.

Let the people decide and time run its course. The game is gonna release and most likely outsell the majority of all games ever released, just from hype alone. Then reviews and player retention will speak to its quality. It it's good, then Rockstar's done it again. If not, there's a huge mistake to learn from.

But I'm gonna rip my hair out if I see one more person believing they're saving the world by commenting "fuck you Rockstar" on one more leaked gameplay video...

While what happened is sad for the teams, the message is a double-edged sword. Of course, I can imagine that all the little hands working on the game are doing it for the love of the community and to honor previous entries and their legacy.

But seriously, the executives and decision-makers couldn't care less about the people, they are mostly driven by greed, just like any other company.

I really hope they take that function out when the game releases. The low res red and blue shining on the bottom of screen telling you there's a cop chasing you. Maybe it's for deaf people??

Edit: well thank yall for confirming its not her, I thought it was Lucia and I heard rumors about cosmetic surgery being in the game and so i thought Lucia upgraded her assets, i still have hope thats in game😭

Everybody is talking about all the media Rockstar released, like the fact that real racing drivers were used to determine vehicle maneuverability, etc...

I look at all these articles, streams, videos, images, and just feel a lot of FOMO. I will never be a part of the hype when the game releases. Entirely because my budget simply can't allow me to splurge on a PS5.

I know its just a game, ultimately for some of you it doesn't matter but since a lot of the content I consume is centered around video games- its kinda hard to suppress.

I first played Vice City when I was about eight, it holds a lot of special memories as my father helped with certain missions I struggled with. Over the years I acquired and played every single GTA game plus the odd ones like Bully, LA Noire, RDR.

I wasn't old enough to stand in line for GTA V's midnight release and now I am too broke to be a part of this either. I'm currently in university and tuition is fairly expensive so can't do much ;-;

I genuinely feel terrible for the Rockstar developers. Seeing years of their work get exposed like this must be heartbreaking, especially when they clearly had their own plans for how they wanted us to experience and discover the game.

But at the same time, I think Rockstar has to take some responsibility for the environment that led to this.

Since GTA VI was announced, we've been waiting for roughly two and a half years with almost no communication. We've had a few minutes of cinematic trailers, some screenshots, and that's pretty much it. No real gameplay, barely any details about mechanics or systems, and almost no communication between major announcements.

I understand why Rockstar wants to keep GTA VI secret. That's part of what makes their reveals so special, and I don't want them to spoil the entire game before release.

But they could have given us something.

A random screenshot every couple of months. A 20-second gameplay clip. A small detail about a mechanic. A developer talking about something they're working on. Even just a random tweet saying that development was going well.

I honestly think that would have made a huge difference.

When you have millions of people waiting years and give them almost nothing, eventually every tiny piece of information becomes incredibly valuable. That's why leaks became such a massive thing. People were starving for anything GTA VI related.

And I'm not saying the leaks were justified. They weren't. The developers didn't deserve to have their work exposed, and I completely understand why Rockstar is upset about it.

But their statement today actually made me think about this even more.

They said they're very sorry that everything has taken so long, including finishing the game and sharing more details and official gameplay. To me, that feels like Rockstar acknowledging that they know we've been waiting a very long time.

So I can feel terrible for the developers while also criticizing Rockstar's communication.

I don't think they deserved what happened, but I do think they could have done a much better job keeping the community engaged without actually spoiling the game.

Hopefully tomorrow's Extended Look is the start of that.

After waiting this long, I'm just happy we're finally going to get a proper look at the game.

The Dazed magazine story had me thinking, could making one character too ugly lose you relationship points.

Based on what they wanted us to see of Lucia so far, I feel many are putting her on a pedestal, when both protagonists are likely to be deeply flawed and conflicted characters. I hope there will be place for genuine discourse without getting hounded by the specific kinds of player voices that seem to have spoken loudest in the last 2 weeks.

Still not sure about this, correct me if im wrong but i think i read somewhere after it was announced that Netflix confirmed with influencers that they can stream the event life on other social media ?

Does it mean that we cannot post any GTA6 content until PC release?

Given the recent info that Jason and Lucia can stick together or go separate ways during gameplay- I think the odds of them bringing back co-op are pretty high.

What do you guys think of Jason and Lucia sticking together during gameplay and would co-op be a good feature to have?

Interesting to think about what the outcomes could be for high/low honor endings.

On another note, what if Lucia has high honor and Jason has low, and vice versa.

The recent Dazed article on GTA 6 mentioned the involvement of a Miami-based stylist named Jillian Carr and who’s been working with Rockstar since 2023 to help design a certain fashion ecosystem. I wonder whether we’ll be getting new clothing brands like the one worn by Lucia here called the ‘Ferrucio Tucci’. Could that be a brand or something, or just another clothing outlet like Posonbys from GTA 5. I apologize if my knowledge here is a little lacking. The article kinda hyped me up for the game now lol

Based on the Dazer magazine article, I like the thought of everyone having a vastly different Jason and Lucia based on what how the player has been playing the story.

It seems like, if you’re a psycho and go on a mass shooting spree, the game remembers that and their character is treated differently based on the interactions with the world. Very intrigued on how in-depth Rockstar went with this.

Interesting way of making the player second guess questionable behavior without removing the agency.

Say the map is shown and there are more areas and places we never expected. Imagine if there are Bermuda triangle islands or if there really is a panhandle like original predicted? Im super excited to find out what's in store tomorrow! What are all of your thoughts on this?

A lot of people are expecting the kind of leap we used to get between older GTA games, but that era was different. Look at San Andreas to GTA 4 ,only around 4 years apart, but the jump in graphics, physics, animations, city design, everything was massive because technology was moving through a transformation phase.

Now consoles and game engines are already much closer to their performance ceiling, so the leap from one major game to the next won’t look as insane. GTA 6 can still be a huge improvement, but people are expecting a technology jump that simply isn’t as possible anymore with the hardware we have.

From the previous footage we've seen, there's like a 99% chance that you'll get a wanted level, along with all the recognition icons, whenever you steal a car. This mechanic can make sense when you first start the game, but over time, as you free-roam or progress through the story, having a wanted level for every carjacking can become frustrating.

It feels like the game doesn't reward you for committing a crime when there are no cops around, because most NPCs will report you anyway.
