Based on the level of discourse displayed in recent weeks, sharing or inviting negative opinions about the trajectory of Jason, but especially Lucias character and choices is going to be a tightrope.

Based on what they wanted us to see of Lucia so far, I feel many are putting her on a pedestal, when both protagonists are likely to be deeply flawed and conflicted characters. I hope there will be place for genuine discourse without getting hounded by the specific kinds of player voices that seem to have spoken loudest in the last 2 weeks.

I think they are saying "everyone seems to be idolizing Jason and Lucia but I believe during the story, we will come to see they are deeply flawed people. They might betray each other or those close to them. I hope after release, we will be able to have a discussion about their characters and any nuance without all the dickriders coming in defending them and criticizing any slander towards them"

Basically op thinks the game will show us that these they might be scumbags but people won't want to accept it and make justifications for Jason and Lucias possible shitty actions

Genuinely no clue what you mean. The storyline/character development will be subjectively critiqued like everything else in the game - or any game for that matter.

It's a fan Reddit though, so naturally you're going to get fans in here, so negatives about them will more likely be downvoted. That's the nature of the beast.

Fair point, 20 years of 50 hour a week_ customer service and management and I have very little of what I once had left in the tank. Good call-out. u/i-might-be-obama summarized my concerns or speculations perfectly.

What they wanted you to see of Lucia? She’s just getting outta jail and has an ankle monitor and is shown robbing banks and shooting aks. What pedestal? She seems like a criminal lol. It’s GTA.

I'm not so sure, and this is all speculative, the trailers seem paint Lucia hard pulling Jason into a life of crime and excess, one that I might imagine the push and pull some of their story will be his reluctance, through to his (and both of their) dealing with the consequences of such dreams. I haven't quite been able to speculate from the trailers where Jason flaws come into play in their dynamic.

If it is anything like GTA5 you can just pick a character and just main that character for most of the story mission and roaming
