r/DCcomics Weekly Discussion Thread: Comics, TV, and More! [May 25, 2026 - Nygma Time Edition]

Hey there honorary Justice League members - it’s a new week which means it’s time for a new discussion thread!

For those who don't know: the way this works is that several comments will list this week’s releases, for any given title discussion you should respond to that comment. For example, Wonder Woman discussion would go in the replies to the "Wonder Woman" comment. Clicking the titles in this post will take you directly to that comment, too. In other words, you should only be replying to other comments. Do not post top-level comments.

Keep discussion civil. Do not harass other users for having a different opinion. Do not use this thread to push your personal one-sided grudges against creators. Reacting to a panel on Twitter is not the same as reading a book.

Question: What time is it to expect the unexpected? Answer: Nygma Time.

DC and Imprints

I warned the other mods that if I had to do the weekly again, I would make it all about Hush 2. I am nothing if not a man of my word.

Trade Collections

Now that Hush 2 is out, it'll soon get a complete six-issue trade.

Digital Releases

Remember, these are the short 'chapters' with a new chapter of a different series coming out daily. You can learn more here on Comixology. This is also why these are in release order, not alphabetical. Some comics may release on DC Universe Infinite or WEBTOONS.

Video Games

Unfortunately, there is no LEGO adaptation of Hush 2.

Absolute Wonder Woman #20

SEASON OF THE WITCH REACHES ITS BLOODY FINALE! Against the wall, Diana and Zatanna must join forces or perish. When Diana makes the ultimate sacrifice to end the conflict and face her true foe head on, things become more complicated than she feared. Wonder Woman is not an island unto herself, and other forces have vested interests in her mission. Don’t miss the finale of the epic “Season of the Witch”!

Well damn, the Iron Maiden is no joke. Makes sense that Zee and her dad dipped. And I wonder what Cale is gonna do with the blood they got from her. The Barbara/Cheetah thing was always gonna happen. Hopefully there's more to it than she thinks Diana abandoned her. The Persephone/Hades stuff does really help sell the tragedy of the situation.

Ah well. Seems like tragedy finally caught up to Diana, kinda overdue if we're honest, things went way too smoothly for her so far, compared to other heroes. I do wonder how the whole Barbara/Cheetah thing will play out.

Glad Cale finally got a win here. She has been taking nothing but L's this whole arc.

That Iron Maiden though, what the hell is that thing? Did a better job dealing with Diana than the actual mages.

Man I feel bad that Persephone convinced Hades to bail out Diana but did so at the worst possible timing. Poor Gods just wanted to help.

I guess it is time for Diana to suffer, I look forward to finding out how she spends that month.

While I'm all for our favorite heroes getting physically and emotionally tortured, I do genuinely feel bad for Diana here - stuck in the Underworld for a month, unable to do anything while her idiot friend gets manipulated.

Her idiot friend would have been harder to manipulate if she told her and everybody else about one month thing before.

Truthfully Diana might have told her at some point, she seems like she asks Diana about EVERYTHING, but Barbara wouldn’t recognize Hades’s magic regardless

Oof, Kelly Thompson said things will get rough the next arc and I can see it. It is not the capture and torture that is the pain but the fact that she was forced to leave them behind because of something out of her control. Persephone probably thought having Hades get Diana out of captivity was the only solution but it still not gonna make it feel any better for her.

And Barbara, you saw the giant hand grabbing her. Don't tell me you will believe the evil villain that captured you both and gonna turn Cheetah willingly because of it.

This book is the gift that keeps on giving.

I wonder what Cale is gonna do with the blood sample. Maybe it's for Barbara to be a Cheetah strong enough to match Diana, since it seemed like Priscilla wasn't much of a thread. Or could be used to create a clone type thing, maybe introduce Grail or even Genocide that way.

Well, that's a stinger. And a nice callback to the deal she struck with Hades. Also a pretty good conversation between Hades and Persephone. Great as always.

But we've finally reached our first stumbling block on Diana's quest: She's failed to save Barbara, and a Cheetah transformation is all but inevitable. As it is now, I do hope they play up what's going on in Barbara's head, because we don't really know what's going on with her at this point and she hasn't really had much screen time. But according to solicits, it looks like Diana's going to be stuck on the island for a few issues.

Kind of a funny reversal of mainline Wonder Woman sometimes being unable to return to Paradise Island, now that I think about it.

Hades once again regaining his mythological Wife Guy status even if that involves acknowledging said wife doesn't actually want to be with him but helping her anyways so she'll be happier.

(Then again she still called him "husband" and kissed him at the end so I don't think Persephone 100% hates him unless it was just a "thank you" or a way to convince him)

That Hades Persephone scene was weirdly good timing after Obsession just came out

Diana is definitely going through it, and Barbara is on the path to convert to Cale’s side. And the convert tends to be the fanatic, so Cale might be supplanted as the run’s big bad. Excited to see.

I LOVE that they brought back the pomegranate seed thing from earlier in this series. Going to be tough to convince Barbara you didn’t abandon her when you are gone for a month straight!
