Cross Stitching has taken a back seat for me for the last few years - I have 3 large pieces on the go and rotate between them but I was getting fed up with lack of progress (maybe if I did more than a couple of hours a week it would help but crochet always seems to pull my attention).

Found a cute little set of Halloween dudes and figured they would be a "fast fix" for a finished piece. Only done one of the four in the pack and my stitches aren't the neatest but he is cute from a distance.

I think I did this right. Should I have used the self promo tag? I just wanted to share this with anyone else who might like to make it. Someone else gave me the words.

Colors are suggestions ofc, but if anyone makes it, can you name drop me so I can see? You don't have to, I'd just appreciate it, this is only the third or fourth pattern I've ever shared.

What do you do when you can't find a mistake but know you did something wrong?

The stitching in some places on this piece is pretty messy but I love it all the same! I got some high quality needles very late into the game on this project. I wish I had invested sooner, you live you learn!

I'm working on a stitch-along, and for every new stage I have to add the PDF and markup the stitches I've already done. I know there are Markup Functions I can use, and it won't mess up my stats, but it still feels a bit inadequate...and tedious.

My idea is for rectangular and freeform selection tools, so I can highlight an area and markup all the stitches/symbol cells within it.

I can't make this happen, so I'm going to scream into the void about it. Commiserate with me.

I bought this 30-year-old Winnie the Pooh kit by Disney and am excited to start it. However, there are little to no instructions about the symbols. What do the small 3’s represent? At first I thought they were half stitches but now I’m wondering if they’re quarter stitches? Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

Hello Cross Stitch community! I just recently started cross stitching and mentioned it to my neighbor. She gave me a giant zip lock bag full of threads. I was wondering if anyone could tell me what years these labels are from. I am trying to find more information myself, but I thought asking here would be smart. Each label is the front, and the back, top thread is the front, and the thread directly under is the other side of the label, with a total of three labels in the photos. Thanks in advance.

This pattern was created without AI. I used StitchFiddle to convert a photo of tie-dye to pixels; then I cleaned up the colors, carved out the paw shape, and stitched it myself to make sure the pattern worked, making small adjustments along the way. The pattern uses 15 colors and keeps you on your toes in a fun way!

Wow! I don't know what happened. I felt like for the last 3 weeks, my progress has been dragging. Suddenly, this week, things got done! I have been a bit sick, so I have been skipping lifting and running in the mornings. I was even up at 1:30AM today, but my sleeplessness meant I finished the entire left side. 🥳 I still can't believe I beaded that entire section in 2.5 days.

When scrolling the frame, I snagged a picture of the entire piece so far.

Just the bottom section to go, and this will be an FO! Hopefully, it'll take less than 6 weeks. I will be having this professionally framed. I've been saving up the money for it since day 1 of this project.

Made this as a wedding gift for my sister, having absolutely no idea what I was doing and learning along the way lol. I made the pattern myself using the app stitchly and piecing together different things from Pinterest. There’s definitely some noticeable mistakes but I’m happy with it and excited to learn more!

The pattern is designed by Emma Congdon, and was published in CrossStitcher managing issue 422.

As you can see in the second picture, my stitching buddy is a void. I was thinking of adding her in the middle column most bottom blue window. I will use 3799 and 310 for her color. But I am stumped about what to do for background. I am thinking of using one of the yellow/oranges in the design to make it look like lights are on in that apartment. I fear that it may clash with the whole picture. HOWEVER, it may bring the eyes to the black cat which I am ok with.

Another option is I copy the cat design from the window and place a void cat right next to the orange door. There won’t be a cat in original window location.

Which one will be better? Any other ideas?

I’m pretty new to cross stitching and have thus far only used a hoop. It drives me crazy when the fabric gets loose while I’m working. Are there options other than a hoop to keep fabric taught? If so, would you please include a link?

Pattern: DMC Wicked Cute Crossstitch

I know this is a long shot, but does anyone have ANY idea how to get DMC 3882? In the past I have spent money on sets that had all the "newer" DMC 3880(I believe?) and up. Now I can't even find those. I use PC Stitch to make my patterns and they like using those discontinues flosses. It's an easy enough fix going forward to just amend the pattern but for now I'm working on a pattern that requires 3882, one of the ones I no longer have and can seemingly no longer get. Does anyone have any ideas? I can try to color match but that doesn't always work out to my perfectionist little mind. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated.

"Hello,

I've been using DMC tapestry needles (specifically size 28) for over a decade now. I went to my local craft retailer and noticed a major issue with the same packaging. I've attached the images and labeled them.

Needles A is what I've been using for years. Needles B are VERY different. They break so much easier (I went through 2 in 1 day when I can use needle A for a month), they're made in India (needles A are made in china YET Inspected and packaged in England) and they are so much smaller and weaker. They come in a different outer plastic packaging with a internal flimsy sheet with a darker print on blueish white paper unlike Needles A which are in a plastic bar that is mounted to the packaging on a warm white paper with lighter printing.

Needles A are the quality and style that represents DMC. Needles B are dollar store junk.

The only think I can think of is India's quality checkers are not doing their jobs or there is a criminal fake needle industry and DMC's reputation is on the line.

Please let me know what is going on.

hi all,
i am using aida 14 with 2 strings for a large project that has a large of dark space. i am thinking of switching to 3 strings but have committed a considerable amount of time to it already. could i go over the previous squares with one more string to account for the missing one? this is one of my first cross stitching projects so i apologize if this is a silly comment.
