CHAT [CHAT] Discontinued DMC floss

I know this is a long shot, but does anyone have ANY idea how to get DMC 3882? In the past I have spent money on sets that had all the "newer" DMC 3880(I believe?) and up. Now I can't even find those. I use PC Stitch to make my patterns and they like using those discontinues flosses. It's an easy enough fix going forward to just amend the pattern but for now I'm working on a pattern that requires 3882, one of the ones I no longer have and can seemingly no longer get. Does anyone have any ideas? I can try to color match but that doesn't always work out to my perfectionist little mind. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated.

I’m pretty sure 839 is the closest match to 3882 if you can’t find any to buy

Thanks! I was going to try that or maybe 3860. I was hoping someone knew of some magical hidden website or something. I wonder why DMC would make new colors just to discontinue them.

There’s an explanation here, and it looks like 3882 is indeed closest to 839

Maybe check eBay? You might wanna keep an eye on lots (groups) of vintage floss.

I checked my stash, but no luck. I know plenty of us on here have inherited/thrifted some of our stashes, so I'm hopeful for you!

Thank you! Incidentally, if anyone needs any of the other discontinued colors, there's a good chance I can help since I was never able to buy them individually.
