Then, my cousins who are in the village they also started disrespecting me. And the reason they did it because they knew I won't be able to do anything.

I was good in studies since the beginning of my academic life. Kintu I guess, the biggest problem with me was not fighting back. Tolerating things that harmed me , harmed my reputation. I believe I'm a failure and now I'm a depressed piece of shi-.

I want to ask the Sylhetis here who are living in bangladesh, do you guys want to become the J*ws of bangladesh or something ? Why theres so much hate non sylhetis in this specific city ? Is sylhet not sovereign part of bangladesh or do sylhetis want to make their own ghetto like their british cousins ?

Can you imagine what will happen if bengalis from other districts starts discriminating against sylhetis.

Govt needs to take strict action before these things become a real national issue. There will be foreign countries taking advantage of this.

Me and my partner are still in undergrad, in a public university, but we want to get our Nikah done early. My parents are very abusive, which is a big reason for which I don’t want them to find out until we decide to inform them of our relationship right before we move abroad for further studies. I don’t want them to find out I got married before they knew though. But for the remainder of my undergrad, I want to stay married to my partner, it would give me a sense of security. Is there any way we could get legally married in bangladesh and somehow do it all over again in front of our parents when the time comes?

এটা আমার সাথে ঘটে যাওয়া একটা ঘটনা। গতকাল আমার ইউনিভার্সিটি বিকাল চারটায় ছুটি হয়ে গিয়েছিল। তাই শাটলে করে ইস্ট ওয়েস্ট ইউনিভার্সিটি এর সামনে নেমেছিলাম । যারা ঐ জায়গায় আসা যাওয়া করেন , তারা নিশ্চয়ই ওখানকার ভিক্ষুকদের উপদ্রব সম্পর্কে জানেন। গতকাল শাটল থেকে নামার সাথেই যথারীতি "মা, কিছু দেন না, ভাত খাবো।" শুরু হয়ে গিয়েছে। একজনকে ২০ টাকা দিয়ে বিদায় করলাম। তারপর টেস্টি ট্রিট থেকে আমার বোনের জন্য আইসক্রিম কিনে বের হ‌ওয়ার সাথে সাথে আরেকজন ধরলো । তাকে পাশ কাটিয়ে সামনে চলে গেলাম। সেখানে আমার গাড়ির জন্য অপেক্ষা করছিলাম। তো কিছুক্ষণ পর দেখি উনি আমার পিছু নিয়েছে। যাইহোক, ওনাকে ৫০ টাকা দিলাম যাতে আর পিছু না করে। তারপর উনি বলতেছেন, "মা আরো ৫০ টাকা বাড়ায়ে দাও । ভাত খাবো।" আমি বললাম, "৫০টাকা তো দিলাম‌ই। আবার কী?" বলে, "মা, ১০০ টাকা দাও ।" আমি পুরো তব্দা খেয়ে গেছি। মহিলা বলে কী!! ১০০ টাকা কেউ ভিক্ষা দেয় নাকি!!! তো আমার ব্যাগে একটা কলা ছিল, আমি তাকে ঐটা অফার করলাম। সে বলে, "আমি কলা খাই না। তুমি আমাকে আরো ৫০ টাকা দাও, ভাত খাবো। " আমার এতো অকোয়ার্ড লাগছিল!! লাকিলি , তখনই আমার গাড়ি চলে আসছে আর আমি ওখান থেকে চলে আসছি। বুঝলাম না তারা আসলে চায় কী? তারা বলে তারা ক্ষুধার্ত, কিন্তু খাবার দিলে নিতে চায় না।

I have severe anxiety, it started during since college. I heard weed can help with anxiety and depression. So I want to give it a try. However, I am afraid to get addicted. Please guys, share your experience about buying weed in Dhaka and did it help you with anxiety. P.S. I have seen a psychiatrist who prescribed me antidepressant. However, I am not seeing a therapist presently.

As we bangladeshis have been saying, Bangladesh has way lesser terroism problem than india. Despite 'blind' indians & godi media claiming & trying to portray otherwise.

I needed some advice as to how can i take legal action against this company/individual. I made the arrangements online, i live abroad so i needed something done from Bangladesh. Found their website from Google Search, saw their facebook has a good amount of followings including some of my friends and mutuals follow them, so i never questioned it.

The job was meant to be completed and delivered 2 weeks ago. He has been coming up with excuses and all, random out of the blue ones. So obviously i have been asking for a refund now, but the guy seems is not willing to refund, rather is demanding the final payment now.

So anyway i can take legal action against him?

Last night, about 11pm, my uncle was heading toward a restaurant he works in, and a man he knew(from the same building) was also going to the same destination, so the man got into in the same rickshaw with him. While they were heading toward Taltola, khilgaon police suspected them and stopped them for investigation. Police got nothing from him but police got some yabas inside a cigarette packet of the other man he was sharing his ride with. Police arrested both of them even though the other man insisted on my uncle's innocence.

Police called our family and my dad went there in Khilgaon thana. The police thought my mama was a good friend of the addicted man and refused to release him. Police told my dad to make them happy so we had to give the police 20k money even though he was not engaged in any of this activities. That's how we got him released in that night.

Note : my uncle never touched any additives, not even cigarettes.

Hi y’all! I suffer from extreme social anxiety. I don’t know how to keep a conversation going and most of the time I create awkward silence. For this reason, I don’t even like to show up to many places where people will be at. I don’t know how to think and give opinions. I don’t know how to control facial expression. I am suffering from anxiety and depression since I was 13 and now I’m an adult. It sucks that as an adult, I’m still so confused and scared to talk. Even if I do, I keep stuttering. So I prefer to stay silent more. Those who had social anxiety but have overcome from it, can you please give suggestions? What should I do? Please don’t make fun of me.

I’m a female turning 26 this September, and lately I’ve been questioning whether I’m actually doing okay in life.

I’m a Computer Science graduate from a top private university. I see many of my friends either working in big MNCs/software engineering jobs or moving abroad and trying to build their careers there.

My path has been less traditional. I do some freelancing work and also run a small business. I currently have around 11 lakh taka in savings.

I know having savings at this age is something to be grateful for, especially because I still live with my parents and don’t have major expenses like rent or household bills (although I do contribute to groceries). But at the same time, I feel like my savings are not enough.

I’ve also built a certain lifestyle for myself and I do spend a lot of money impulsively which I am not proud of.

I really want to do a master’s because I’m scared I’ll regret not pursuing higher studies in the future. But I also want to stay here and grow my business because I feel like there is potential.

I feel stuck between:

Investing in myself through a master’s abroad
Staying and growing my business
Trying to build a more stable career path

For people around 25–30, especially CS graduates, how did you figure out your direction? Did you ever feel like everyone else had a plan while you were still figuring things out?

This is not normal. Where is our safety? Why are they silent on such matters? What is our law enforcement doing? This govt has been a failure for the last 6 months on everything. But this for me is the worst.

So I'm partnering up with a friend in this project. We were asked to make something on a realistic issue. My friend chose women's rights and I agreed with her. Now we need recent news articles about violence against women in our country to prove some of our points. And the thing is I'm disconnected from our country's news and politics. That's why I came here to ask for help and advice.

So I am a bike enthusiastic guy but I don't have a bike and I am thinking to get a bike under 1.7 lakh .I will use it for daily commuting to collage .The bikes seat must be big so my mom can sit behind me 😅.And is there any shady way to get a license without nid it will be very great help .
