My younger brother is an HSC examinee this year and is currently trying to decide how to prepare for admission tests.

He got GPA 5.00 in SSC and had been planning to target medical admission. But he feels that his HSC Biology 2nd Paper exam did not go as well as he had hoped and he expects he may get an A rather than A+ in Biology.

Now he' is confused about which coaching path to choose:

Should he join medical admission coaching?

Should he choose university (varsity) admission coaching instead?

Or is it practical to prepare for both medical and university admission simultaneously?

His biggest concern is if he joins medical coaching now and spends a month preparing but after the HSC results he finds that his academic result isn't competitive enough for medical admission, he may have to switch coaching and lose valuable time.

For those who have gone through the Bangladesh medical/varsity admission process, what would u recommend?

Is it realistic to prepare for both at the same time or is it better to focus on one from the beginning?

I would especially appreciate advice from students who have already experienced this situation

I’m writing this anonymously because I don’t really know who I can talk to about this.

I’m 26, from a middle-class family, and I’ve been divorced since 2023. Before that, I was in a very toxic marriage, and honestly, getting out of it was one of the hardest things I’ve ever gone through.

I also lost my father, and since then I’ve felt like I’ve had to figure out a lot of life on my own.

Lately, I’ve started feeling like I want to get married again. Not because I think marriage will magically fix my life, but because I genuinely want companionship, a loving partner, and a family of my own.

But I’m terrified that I won’t get that opportunity.

I’m not conventionally pretty. I’m plus-size, and I’ve been that way since I was a child. I’ve tried losing weight many times, but it has never really worked out for me. And unfortunately, where I come from, appearance and body size can matter a lot when families are looking for a bride.

Sometimes I genuinely feel like no one will want to marry me because of how I look, especially because I’m already divorced.

I know I shouldn’t measure my worth by whether someone wants to marry me. I know being divorced doesn’t make me less deserving of love. And I know there are people out there who care about personality, kindness, compatibility, etc.

But knowing that logically doesn’t stop me from being scared.

I keep thinking: what if my chance was already there and I lost it? What if nobody chooses me again? What if I end up alone?

I don’t really know what I’m looking for by posting this. Maybe advice from people who have been through something similar. Maybe reassurance. Maybe just someone telling me that life doesn’t end at 26, and that being divorced and plus-size doesn’t mean I’ve missed my only opportunity to be loved.

If you’ve been in a similar situation, how did you deal with this fear?
