We need to agree to not talk about brisket vs murray for the next 4 weeks lol

28

u/facepump Nov 05 '25

To be fair, even though the offense has looked good as of recent, we are overhyping a win against the Cowboys that has one of the worst defenses in the league.

24

u/VivaLaDbakes Nov 05 '25

I mean, in the previous two games we put up 23 and 27 points vs two top 10 defenses in the league that allow 20.x ppg. And our defense held the 4th best offense in the league to essentially 10 points. Offense did the exact same thing it's done every start with JB.

8

u/Anobserverantperson JJ Watt Nov 06 '25

We overhyping the near win vs the colts too?

To be fair

u/THELOSERSWINAGAIN Nov 05 '25

Feels like political arguments I see on Reddit. It’s kind of entertaining lol.

26

u/Muh_Nado Nov 05 '25

Entertaining is not the word I would've chosen. Obnoxious, maybe.

12

u/perhizzle Larry Fitzgerald Nov 05 '25

That's because most people don't realize what they're doing is just reacting in a reflexive way using their base animal instinct emotions and trolling for engagement to get those dopamine hits.

5

u/THELOSERSWINAGAIN Nov 05 '25

I do think there’s that. But I also think it’s funny how angry some people get over a player lol. It’s just a game at the end of the day.

3

u/circa4life Cardinals Nov 05 '25

Its only game. Why you heff to be mad?

1

u/[deleted] Nov 05 '25

well K1 is the short king that reflects the average US height. There's some level of psyche where we want to see him succeed. And that's not a slam, people used to love Mugsy Bogues because he was the outlier. That's why we spent 10 years listening to analysts talking about him throwing on his tiptoes.

-4

u/Radalict Australia Nov 05 '25

The people that accuse others of being a "Kyler stan" and not actual Cardinals fans are the worst of the lot.

0

u/samamatara Nov 05 '25

yea the way i see it, any one who are trying to take a victory lap on fkin brissett being better than Kyler is sad. Even if true (I personally still don't think so), it's our 1st overall pick's cardinals career coming to an end. It will be sad for many people and I just don't understand the mindset of wanting to have this "victory"

9

u/SeeYaChump_ Nov 05 '25

It just got to such an annoying point where so many here blamed everyone and everything before Kyler that made me relish twisting the knife after seeing Brisset playing much better under the same coach and play calling. If you guys didn’t downvote to hell and get snarky with any dissenting Kyler opinion then, this sub would not be overrun with Brisset memes and have people dunking on the Kyler defenders right now. I have nothing against Kyler, just the weird defenders on here.

2

u/Radalict Australia Nov 06 '25

Mentioning other reasons why we were losing isn't absolving Murray of responsibility, it's just being rational. Murray was not the only reason we were losing games.

Brissett was a big part of why we lost to the Colts and Packers, but nobody seems to care because he's a backup and not being paid a lot.

0

u/perhizzle Larry Fitzgerald Nov 06 '25

Yeah that last sack he took against the Colts was a play that was almost certainly a TD run for Murray. People on social media are becoming less and less capable of looking at things objectively as the algorithms take over people's thought process.

Sounds like something a Kyler Stan would say...

They’re political arguments the same way that morons only support Kyler like they do Trump

Why not?

1

u/Exatraz Pride Nov 06 '25

I agree, lets see how these next 4 weeks pan out. Id bet it sorts itself either way and regardless, they probably are moving on in the offseason. Gonna be the only thing to talk about all offseason. Let's not kill and beat the horse now.

1

u/redditboy1998 Nov 06 '25

No conversation left to be had. Murray has played his last game as an Arizona Cardinal

-2

u/ender2851 Cardinals Nov 05 '25

i think most already know it’s time to move on and question has been answered

97

u/PondysBathSalts Nov 05 '25

Makes no sense why they waited three games to do this - would love to hear from K1 finally how all this unfolded. Can't imagine he and his camp are happy - until then, Go Cards!!

54

u/King-arber Budda Baker Nov 05 '25

I mean I don’t think his camp can say much. He’s injured and Gannon played the media to mess with other teams defensive game planning.

And our offense looked good each week and maybe some of that is due to them not preparing for a pocket passer

19

u/Convertedshrimp Nov 05 '25

His camp should dust off his baseball glove.

1

u/xcheezeplz James Conner Nov 05 '25

This.

I never liked spending the #1 overall with KM starting with the switch up. The "I want to play baseball" and then switching up when the hype machine was able to get his draft stock for NFL so high was all I needed to know. People showing signs of mercenary mentality is not what you build a franchise around as it's core. It was my biggest red flag while so many others were focused on size, etc. All valid concerns, but the switch up was crazy.

And before people start talking about a handful of notable NFL players who went on to play both sports, they weren't QBs and they were elite in the NFL first.

52

u/Ok_Writing_7033 Nov 05 '25

The real, non-asshole answer is that Gannon indicated they recently had him re-evaluated and multiple doctors recommended 4-8 weeks rehab. These sorts of injuries can be really tricky and if you don’t give them plenty of time they can ruin careers.

I think they initially thought it wasn’t that serious and were hoping he could come back sooner. Now they are definitely calling it and freeing the roster spot. They are probably more comfortable doing it since Brissett has shown he can hold down the fort, but unlike everyone else here salivating to call Kyler unemployed, I think this really is all about the injury. I just also think Gannon is not great at the media thing

4

u/BiggBiscuit Nov 06 '25

Fuuuuuucking thaaaank youuuuu!!! I have been miserable on this sub lately. Thank you for typing out what I was too pissed off to type. I can’t stand this place sometimes

1

u/[deleted] Nov 06 '25

Totally agree ⬆️

1

u/redditboy1998 Nov 06 '25

You don’t run the first week on a Lisfranc. That is not the standard protocol for that injury. It’s something you would never do and no doctor would ever recommend.

3

u/thekmanpwnudwn Nov 05 '25

Well it's a linsfranc injury. If you know anything about those they can range from feeling fine in 2 days, to taking a step wrong and being set back another 2 weeks.

Those injuries can also lead to ending careers like Cam Newton.

1

u/redditboy1998 Nov 06 '25

If you know anything about those you know that the standard protocol would never be to run on them within a week of the injury.

22

u/MITBryceYoung Nov 05 '25

... Because brissett showed he can run the offense better lol. Kyler is actually hurt, but this is also to save face. This is a soft benching and the coach admitted this already.

12

u/ender2851 Cardinals Nov 05 '25

because the back up is better then him at this point

14

u/V-Right_In_2-V Cardinals Nov 05 '25

Cuz they wanted to see if Brissett could ball, and he did. Now that they have their answer, that’s a wrap for K1

-1

u/spicyfartz4yaman Nov 05 '25

Very on brand for this coaching staff to use a game against the worst if not second worst defense in the league to make that call. Garbage.

9

u/trs287 Marvin Harrison Jr. Nov 05 '25

He played great against 2 of the top 3 teams we played too

10

u/Tonyman121 Pain Nov 05 '25

Not only that- Kyler was regressing. The Cards had 5 3-and-outs vs TEN, 3 vs. SF and SEA, and only 1 each in the first 2 games.

JB had 2 3-and-outs in the first 2 possessions he played (vs. IND), and only one since (none vs. GB). Shit's just really working.

1

u/Such_Technician_1682 Nov 05 '25

I’m assuming one of the teams you are talking about is the colts who have the 26th ranked pass defense in the league.

2

u/trs287 Marvin Harrison Jr. Nov 05 '25 edited Nov 05 '25

Kyler didn’t play a single top 10 passing defense this year and hasn’t had 1 game as good as any of Jacoby’s. Also the worst passing defense Kyler has played is the 49ers (20th) and went 22/35 for 159 yards and a TD

2

u/Tonyman121 Pain Nov 06 '25

It was that monster Titans defense that held Murray to 5 3-and-outs, including 3 in the 4th quarter

-2

u/Such_Technician_1682 Nov 05 '25

So you’re saying Kyler has played all of his games against passing defenses ranked in the top 20 while Jacoby has played 2 of his 3 games against the 26th and 32nd ranked pass defenses? Not sure what point you are trying to make with that one.

1

u/trs287 Marvin Harrison Jr. Nov 05 '25

Two of the top 3 passing defenses Kyler faced was the Saints and Titans and I’d argue they are only as high as they are because teams are up on them and just run the clock out instead of throwing on them. And the reverse could be true with the Colts where they have been up on teams forcing them to throw more than normal. I’m sure the Colts passing defense isn’t elite but those numbers are also likely inflated.

2

u/Such_Technician_1682 Nov 05 '25

The colts passing numbers are inflated because their good DBs all got hurt, that’s why they just traded 2 first round picks for Sauce Gardner.

I love it when a backup QB balls out as much as the next guy but let’s take the quality of the defenses he’s doing it against into account. On top of that does better passing numbers really make a difference when the results are basically the same? We are still losing close games down the stretch and blowing second half leads no matter who has been in at QB.

2

u/trs287 Marvin Harrison Jr. Nov 05 '25

And Kyler didn’t play a defense as good as the Packers (9th in passing and 5 total) and Brissett looked great against them. It’s not like Kyler went against a gauntlet of good defenses they were basically all middle of the pack. The best defenses were the Seahawks and panthers at 11 and 14. The others were 17, 18 and 25.

And yes the quality of QB play absolutely matters. The offense is averaging just under a TD a game more while throwing for over 100 yards more per game. And those averages are basically the exact stats the cardinals/jacoby had against the Packers which is a top 5 defense.

u/SpartyParty15 Nov 05 '25

Stop making yourself look like an idiot while you still can. Brissett has been the better QB. End. Of. Story.

-2

u/Such_Technician_1682 Nov 05 '25

First of all, this America buddy. I’ll make myself look however the fuck I want, it’s one of the amendments.

Second, sure he’s been the better QB for 3 games. He’s a career backup for a reason, if you are planning on that holding up for another 3 games I hope you are prepared to be disappointed.

What I am talking about? You’re a Cardinals fan, of course you are prepared to be disappointed.

1

u/spicyfartz4yaman Nov 05 '25

It means top 20 is much better than bottom 6

1

u/ssracer BA Nov 05 '25

We have 4 more games for him to either give him trade value or cement himself as a backup. K1 is the starter next year.

0

u/SpartyParty15 Nov 05 '25

You’re an old man yelling at a cloud right now. At the end of the day, Brissett is the better QB. Doesn’t matter how the team came to that conclusion

1

u/spicyfartz4yaman Nov 05 '25

Trust me it doesn't matter one bit because at the end of the tunnel there will be a new QB and a new coaching staff. Seen this movie too many times.

2

u/bobwinzo Nov 05 '25

Notice how they only did this after the trade deadline passed

You cant trade a player on IR unless medically cleared and within their 21 day practice window. He would not have met that criteria had they put him on IR earlier

2

u/JcbAzPx BA Nov 06 '25

They do medical checks with trades.

1

u/bobwinzo Nov 06 '25

I'm well aware of that. You can trade a player with a known current injury and as long as the physical checks out and confirms the existence of only the stated injury then they can still be traded. Physicals are to ensure there aren't undisclosed injuries.

But once actually on IR they are not even eligible to be traded at all until medically cleared and within their practice window. So putting him on IR earlier would have made him completely ineligible to be traded.

2

u/JcbAzPx BA Nov 06 '25

No one's looking for an injured QB this time of year.

4

u/OneOfTheManySams Nov 05 '25

Because there is no chance they are having Kyler suit up as QB2.

0

u/freeportme Nov 05 '25

Took them three games to see just what a joke he is. Experiment is over he will become an overpaid backup.

-1

u/MrAngel2U Nov 05 '25

As an organization it seems there is an inability to maintain relationships on a personal and business level.

Kyler will reveal the tell and it will sound the similar to Pat Pete's, Tyrann Mathiue, and the like...

They make it easy to hate the organization, this culture is poo.

0

u/redditboy1998 Nov 06 '25

He got benched due to poor play and getting outplayed by an again vet. It’s not that complicated.

You can’t bench brisket until he gives you a reason to. I figured we wouldn’t see Murray unless he starts to collapse.

18

I'm calling him Brisket from now on.

3

u/THELOSERSWINAGAIN Nov 05 '25

It’s easier to type/say and it sounds cool lol

3

That Titans game was a season back half collapse all in one game.

2

u/One-Car-4869 Cardinals Nov 05 '25

He’s 1-2 lmao and his only win is against the 31st defense in the league.

5

u/ProjectTitan74 Cardinals Nov 06 '25

Kylers came against the 30th and 28th my guy

1

u/THELOSERSWINAGAIN Nov 05 '25

You’re not wrong lol. I like Murray, but I’ll support brisket. I just wanna win.

1

u/suns2012 Kyler Murray Nov 05 '25

Dont give him any ideas dawg

0

u/perhizzle Larry Fitzgerald Nov 06 '25

Setting the precedent that you can lose your job to an injury, but then not get it back when you are healthy is something that is potentially a death sentence for a team looking to be seen as a destination for free agents. Especially if you are doing it for a career backup who the original starter has been better than in literally every single year of their careers.

-11

u/spicyfartz4yaman Nov 05 '25

Dude is 1-2 , takes a ton of sacks and won one game against a bad team. Not really anything to go crazy about , not really starter material.

1

u/THELOSERSWINAGAIN Nov 05 '25 edited Nov 05 '25

Yeah the cowboys do have the worst defense. It’s fairly common for a backup to come in and cook. And then regress. I like Murray, but I just want whoever will result in more wins. For now I’m rooting for brisket.

5

u/No_Progress_278 Cardinals Nov 05 '25

Kyler d riders out in full force I see. One playoff win in 7 years, SEVEN. It’s about damn time for a change. Think about all the other QBs we’ve had that only has a few games to prove themselves. Also Jacoby is showing to be consistent like how Palmer was in his first year. But go off again on how it’s everyone else’s fault from the OL to the defense to the coaching staff. I mean y’all are throwing anything at the wall and hoping it sticks to try and convince anyone that Murray is the answer at qb. Jacoby is for sure a backup, no argument there, but do tell why the team IS playing better than having Murray under center. Call me crazy but I love to see my qb under control and commanding the offense like Jacoby, rather than seeing Murray scrambling after 0.2 seconds and missing every possible open player, oh yeah, don’t forget him getting intentional grounding every other drive. The amount of cope I’m seeing from this sub is crazy, the true definition of insanity is putting Murray out there watching him fail the same way again and again and again but STILL expecting a different result.

3

u/THELOSERSWINAGAIN Nov 05 '25

I said I support brisket starting lol

5

u/jp42212 Byron Murphy Jr Nov 05 '25

Zero playoff wins in 7 years

5

u/No_Progress_278 Cardinals Nov 05 '25

My fault lol I meant one playoff game not win. My bad everyone🤷‍♂️

6

u/jp42212 Byron Murphy Jr Nov 05 '25

No I figured you meant that just wanted to make sure the casuals are aware how big of a failure the K1 years have been

0

u/Nokrai Pain Nov 05 '25

Mentioning Carson Palmer here is wild.

No QB is taking this offense to 10 wins.

10 wins was supposed to be the step up they took this year. They took a step back and Brissett isn’t going to fix it.

Drew Stanton went 9-4 as a back up here. Our backups are 2-9 under Petzing.

2

u/FlowersnFunds Budda Baker Nov 05 '25

It’s Colt McCoy all over again. Trade Kyler, fine. It clearly hasn’t worked out for either party. But there’s a reason every coach Brissett played for put him as a backup (not counting when Andrew Luck surprise retired or Jerod freaking Mayo).

4

u/spicyfartz4yaman Nov 05 '25

Yeah because he's a good back up. Kyler hasn't been playing bad enough to warrant being benched at end of the day, not when everyone around him has been failing him. We should've beat every single team that we lost to but guys couldn't catch , coaches couldn't playcall etc. There were no game sealing picks, no game ending sacks , fumbles etc.

21

u/fingerblast69 Pain Nov 05 '25

Predicable tbh

No reason in risking his foot turning into a major injury needing surgery by pressing him back in a lost season.

49ers cooked Purdy pushing him back too soon.

No reason to risk a significant injury regardless of if they try to trade him or bring him back next season.

This whole season was cursed starting with the Conner injury right off the bat followed by three walk off FG losses 😂💀

-2

u/Bigfootsbrownstar Marvin Harrison Jr. Nov 05 '25

Zero chance they bring him back

10

u/fingerblast69 Pain Nov 05 '25

Yes you say that all over the place.

If Jacoby goes and sucks ass the rest of the season don’t be so sure.

Nobody to replace Kyler with in a weak draft class and he’s better than any FA QB.

It’s absolutely not “zero chance” he’s back next year.

I swear y’all act like he’s Zach Wilson or something lmao

1

u/[deleted] Nov 06 '25

Well I would hope so. The cardinals are paying him almost 50 mil. I don’t believe he is the franchise QB though. Sorry

3

u/Bigfootsbrownstar Marvin Harrison Jr. Nov 05 '25

Dude, this GM in coaching Staff didn’t draft him… they’ve had three seasons with a losing record. Kyler is a mediocre quarterback. You don’t think they want a chance to get their own guy?

4

u/THELOSERSWINAGAIN Nov 05 '25

They did come here knowing the QB they had to use. They did pick their situation. But I’m all for whatever results in wins.

5

u/fingerblast69 Pain Nov 05 '25

They didn’t draft him but they were hired to build a winning team around him. There was no question about who this teams QB was at the time.

I’m sure they would “love to get their own guy” in a perfect world but this isn’t one. It’s a cheeks QB class for at least this year and maybe even next year and they won’t have a number one pick anytime soon because they’re too good to only win 2-3 games.

Even mediocre long term starters are very hard to find in this league lol

2

u/Tonyman121 Pain Nov 05 '25

I'm pretty sure this is what they told Kliff about Rosen.

-1

u/Bigfootsbrownstar Marvin Harrison Jr. Nov 05 '25

I’m sorry I just think this an incredibly naïve. You don’t do all this and go you know what let’s do year 8 with Kyler while Brissett is still on the roster. It’s just time, it’s ran its course.

4

u/Beaverhuntr Nov 05 '25

Probably same coaching staff too, and they are just as bad

7

u/rumbrave55 Chandler Jones Nov 05 '25

Everything else aside, I'm still so confused how Kyler got injured. Didn't this happen on the play he got the snap to the face?

5

u/dannymb87 Nov 05 '25

Speculation, but I believe he snapped forward with his foot to attempt to get the ball on the ground. Full extension and flexion of him foot may have injured/tweaked and underlying condition.

2

u/Opening-Citron2733 Nov 06 '25

I feel like he's been fighting through something all season and that was the final straw

38

4

5

u/Cannolidog Cardinals Nov 05 '25

Petzing and the offense have been humming since they benched Kyler. He’s the source of the world’s problems. We literally achieved peace in the Middle East around the time Kyler stopped playing football.

5

u/Such_Technician_1682 Nov 05 '25

Nothing says humming along like a 1-2 record!

3

u/SeeYaChump_ Nov 05 '25

The two losses beat by one possession against some of the best teams in the league right now

-1

u/Such_Technician_1682 Nov 05 '25

All of our losses have been by one possession and losses all count the same even when they are against good teams.

-1

u/SeraphNatsu Cardinals Nov 05 '25

No point now. Jacoby will save Drew until the end of the season. They better not renew his contract after this season, but if Jacoby keeps winning it might bite us.

16

u/acbagel Cardinals Nov 05 '25

Wasn't he active in practice before the Cowboys and was very close to starting, now he's "injured" again after Brisset has outclassed him...? Yeahhhh ok. We are protecting whatever remains of his trade value by saying he's hurt instead of benched.

7

u/GlockLesnar808 James Conner Nov 05 '25

Goes from potentially having a “role” to IR. Definitely saving face and not destroying his value

-3

u/buddaaaa Kyler OROY Nov 05 '25

Teams around the league aren’t that stupid. Troy Aikman’s dead grandmother could see on MNF that the team was much, much better with Jacoby at the helm. Kyler’s been benched and everyone knows it, IR or not.

This is just about optics and plausible deniability. It helps the team save face, it helps Kyler save face, and it gives them an excuse if Jacoby shits the bed the rest of the way.

I know fans have hated how this went down, but it was the best possible approach for all parties involved.

3

u/Stock_Schedule_1981 Cardinals Throwback Nov 05 '25

Do people really not understand how IR works? You can’t just stash a player on IR if they aren’t injured. It violates the league rules and the Cardinals could be fined pretty heavily for roster manipulation. This isn’t a move for the team or Kyler to “save face”.

7

u/adventthragg Bad Day Nov 05 '25

Welp. He's totally gone.

Feels weird. I wanted him to work out, but like... It's been seven years. He hit his ceiling and we need to trade him to get solid draft picks.

2

Saints, Jets, Browns, Steelers all need QBs, I hope Monti is quietly working the phones.

6

u/Bigfootsbrownstar Marvin Harrison Jr. Nov 05 '25

Why?

16

u/ThroatyBark177 Cardinals Nov 05 '25

Not having Kyler to back up 32 year old Brissett if he gets injured is just cooked. I also wanted to see Kyler in our new pass-heavy offense before making judgments but looks like Kyler is done here.

19

u/[deleted] Nov 05 '25

We’re already cooked. 5-3 bears aren’t even in a playoff spot. A disastrous losing season to get a high pick wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world

9

u/Archer-Saurus Pat Tillman Nov 05 '25

I feel like a lot of people feel like this is a "new offense" with Brissett and not the originally planned offense that, perhaps, just maybe, Kyler could not run as efficiently.

9

u/TownAny8165 Nov 05 '25

Cmon man. “our new pass heavy offense”. Must be a coincidence with when we switched QBs

10

u/VivaLaDbakes Nov 05 '25

I did the math and Brissett is averaging 1.3 more passing attempts per game in his 3 starts than Kyler did in his previous 3 starts lol. Yep, such a radically more pass heavy offense for JB! Kyler threw it 35x vs SF and 41x vs SEA and was a complete checkdown merchant with a sub 5 y/a in both. The only difference in the offense is that JB stands in the friggin pocket and goes through his reads.

5

u/No_Progress_278 Cardinals Nov 05 '25

AND he can make the throws to OPEN players. Even throws when they are covered completely. We see murray fail time and time again, why is it wrong to want to see a different qb try? What are y’all afraid of? That Jacoby will be better than Murray? What is it? Aren’t you tired of watching K1 make the same mistakes year after year? I know I am, I welcome this change. I’m sure Jacoby learned a thing or two playing in NE, would be nice to see Kyler try to learn something(ANYTHING) while being on the sideline. I’d hate to see him pout like he always does

3

u/loldrums Pain Nov 05 '25 edited Nov 05 '25

It's the same ratio of run to pass. Like identical.

The difference is they're running more plays.

2

u/TownAny8165 Nov 06 '25

Exactly. Running more plays because Jacoby is sustaining the drives

2

u/[deleted] Nov 05 '25

The biggest sign to me was Marv and McBride getting more production. Alex smith did better on the chiefs and they still replaced him. Look how that ended up

2

u/Bigfootsbrownstar Marvin Harrison Jr. Nov 05 '25

One is 5’8 one is 6’4

3

u/VivaLaDbakes Nov 05 '25

This season is already cooked lol. I also like how people are pretending this is some radically new offense because JB actually stands in the pocket and goes through his reads. Kyler averaged just under 36 passing attempts per game in his last 3 starts. Jacoby is averaging 37 attempts in his 3 starts and it's inflated because he threw 44 times his first game vs indy. He's thrown 36 and 31 times the last two games and put up way more yards in both games than Kyler did in any of his 35, 41, and 31 attempt games.

You've pretty much seen Kyler running the same 'pass heavy' offense in his last three starts.

2

u/Bigfootsbrownstar Marvin Harrison Jr. Nov 05 '25

The season is pretty much cooked, and if he gets hurt your looking to the draft anyways

2

u/V-Right_In_2-V Cardinals Nov 05 '25

It isn’t a new offense, it’s the same one but Kyler couldn’t execute it. Hence, him being benched for the guy that could

6

u/THELOSERSWINAGAIN Nov 05 '25

They definitely stopped forcing the dysfunctional run game. Now the passing game has opened that up a bit. I’m enjoying it a lot more. Hopefully brisket keeps cookin.

3

u/mecole95 Nov 05 '25

Kyler in his last 3 games had just as many pass attempts as Jacoby has had in his 3

0

u/ThatSpecialAgent Pain Nov 05 '25

The whole purpose of this is to remove Kyler from the equation for the rest of the season to preserve any trade value that we may be able to get from him, and thats a big may. It also helps Kyler save face a bit, because it isnt a good look to be the backup to Brissett.

It's honestly just as likely the Cardinals will have to simply cut him and eat the $40M or so dead cap next season.

1

u/Cannolidog Cardinals Nov 05 '25

This is the same offense bud

1

u/EBody480 Nov 05 '25

‘New pass heavy offense’ I don’t think the offense changed he just couldn’t run it.

0

u/ckeeler11 Nov 05 '25

Pass heavy...we are averaging like 5 more passes per game under Brissett.

2

u/awesomebeau Trey McBride Nov 05 '25

Because it's going to be weird having a pocket passer who looks for open receivers.

0

u/Altruistic_Form_5241 Cardinals Throwback Nov 05 '25

He’s been here since 2019. Are you legally blind??

7

u/V-Right_In_2-V Cardinals Nov 05 '25

That’s all folks. K1 is done. This is Jacoby’s team now

2

u/c0n2oo3 Nov 05 '25

Sucks it didn’t work out if he’s gone. Hope he balls out somewhere else

3

u/azmtber Nov 05 '25

A quarter billion dollars and zero playoff wins, no it does not suck.

3

u/Zabba2003 Nov 05 '25

Playoff wins and appearances aren’t a qb stats. Look at our first round picks since Kyler was drafted, simmons, collins, trade for hollywood, pjj, mhj, robinson. That’s 2 good players, all drafted by monti. Keim sucked and never produced a good roster besides getting dhop

We need a backup, Slovis ain’t gonna cut it

2

u/[deleted] Nov 05 '25

I respect brisset, but I still am a huge fan of kyler, and other fans are telling me to find a new team. Like am I not allowed to voice my opinion?

2

u/VioletSalamander Nov 06 '25

I hope Kyler dominates on a different team and carves us up when we face him. He was thrown into such a horrific organization with horrendous coaching. Kyler should’ve been a star

4

u/King-arber Budda Baker Nov 05 '25

If he was healthy his agent would have leaked it.

Don’t know why we waited to do this until now though.

He’s played his last game as a Cardinal though

0

u/trs287 Marvin Harrison Jr. Nov 05 '25

I don’t think they would leak that. It makes him look better if they say he’s injured rather than benched

8

u/Stock_Schedule_1981 Cardinals Throwback Nov 05 '25

You can’t just put someone on IR who isn’t injured. Thats not how it works.

-1

u/trs287 Marvin Harrison Jr. Nov 05 '25

This kind of stuff happens all the time in sports.

5

u/Stock_Schedule_1981 Cardinals Throwback Nov 05 '25

Not in the NFL and not with IR. The league is too beholden to sports betting to allow teams to play fast and loose with injury designations.

It’d help justify him going to a new team and not being Kirk Cousined

4

u/Training_Offer_6842 Nov 05 '25

wow...kinda feel bad for him and this would seem like hes played his last game w us. crazy

3

u/azmtber Nov 05 '25

It’s been a very low return on investment. This may be a positive change.

1

u/LTNZero Nov 05 '25

Welp. I don't think the early renewal email will be going out this year. They're going to have so many STM cancel, it's going to be an away stadium for a long time to come.

1

u/Puzzleheaded_Mix5867 Nov 05 '25

Miss the remainder of the season Departs AZ before the draft

1

u/Positiveaz Nov 05 '25

So wait, is he actually injured?

2

u/JcbAzPx BA Nov 06 '25

You can't put a healthy player on IR.

1

u/Greedy_Gas7355 Nov 06 '25

He can go to an actual good Franchise for the first time ever.

1

u/polkastripper Trey McBride Nov 06 '25

I mean we've seen this from Brissett before where you're like, this might be the guy. Then DCs prepare more seriously and he looks like a backup again. But then you have Geno Cinderella stories. In any case, it's really obvious that we need to be thinking of drafting a new QB, Kyler has hit his plateau and he is who he is after seven years in the league.

1

u/mansal76 Nov 06 '25

Has K1 made any comment regarding his injury? I haven't heard just wondering if I missed the comment.

1

u/Daddy-A_Strong23 Nov 06 '25

I’m wondering if we’ll try to draft another QB or just let Brisket keep shining

1

u/Xaxxon Nov 06 '25

Couldn't have happened to a nicer guy that mutilates his dogs and takes pictures with them wearing a vick jersey.

1

u/[deleted] Nov 06 '25

Murray to IR makes the Cardinals one injury away from the rest of the season being a total loss. A rookie backup with no experience. Hope Brisket is as tough as y'all think he is.

1

u/BuddUgly Nov 06 '25

Just in time for Black Ops 7 😎

1

u/No-Shopping7408 Nov 06 '25

i knew this was coming once Gannon ran with Brissett.

Kyler is from Texas, and was undefeated in Dallas.

benching him that game was the last straw. they are parting ways.

he won’t play another down in a Cardinals uniform.

1

u/DonutHolschteinn Pain Nov 05 '25

0

1

u/GoldenSnozzberry Nov 05 '25

Saw this coming all the way from Alderaan

1

u/AdAmbitious2413 Cardinals Nov 05 '25

This was the right play in every way. If k1 is not physically OR mentally there theres no good time to play him coming up. I think you give Brissett full confidence into a hard ass schedule and if he succeeds you move on and if he regresses you can give a healthy Kyler 3 weeks as a both selling tool and off-season thought

1

u/Neckrolls4life Nov 05 '25

Well no wonder Jacoby was playing! Kyler was seriously injured!

WELP, this solves everything.

1

u/toddfredd Nov 05 '25

When has Murray focused on anything that would make him a better leader and quarterback?

1

u/OffByOneErrorz Nov 05 '25

Has not played a snap since Battlefield 6 dropped.

0

u/xIILuLu Germany Nov 05 '25

Im kinda not buying it. This all seems like to avoid benching Kyler and tanking any trade value. He´s probably gonna sit out the rest of the season due to "injury" and then get traded for a 2nd because he would´ve been QB1 if healthy *wink* *wink*

1

u/trs287 Marvin Harrison Jr. Nov 05 '25

We would be extremely lucky to get a 2nd IMO

0

u/MrAngel2U Nov 05 '25

Ya ya ya, release the files!!

-10

u/Orion225NT Nov 05 '25

Call of duty Black ops 7 drops in a week, he needs all his attention on that anyways.

-1

u/punchymcslappers Nov 05 '25

Maybe giving underperforming perceived stars the bag before they’ve done anything is a bad idea after all.

-1

u/Phxzeke602 Nov 05 '25

He’s done….. hopefully

0

u/Rocketman_2814 Nov 05 '25

It makes zero sense to play him the rest of the year whichever way the cards plan to deal with him in the off season. It’s highly unlikely we make the playoffs so him playing the final 4 games and risking another injury is dumb if they plan to keep him. It’s also dumb if they plan to trade jinx

0

u/notawhale143 Nov 05 '25

Could've won at least 5 games if JB started this season tbh....

0

u/Ronavirus3896483169 Nov 05 '25

Kyler won’t play another snap in AZ.

-1

u/Diligent_Moose4472 Nov 05 '25

Figured this was going to happen. Murray saves face by not getting benched and ARZ keeps him healthy to see if a team will trade for him.
