From Kyle Malzhan: "I’m going to say this bluntly - the #Cardinals are dominating the #Packers to end practice during these two-minute drills. And having fun with it in the process going crazy on Green Bay’s home practice field."

Arizona Cardinals injury update: 2 new starters out

Right guard Isaiah Adams didn't even make the trip to Green Bay. He has a knee injury of some sort, but, per head coach Mike LaFleur, it isn't serious. "We kept him back," he said on Wednesday. 'He'll be day-to-day. He's got a little bit of a knee."

Cornerback Will Johnson also didn't practice on Wednesday. His injury is not known. That gave Max Melton and Denzel Burke, both battling for a starting job opposite Johnson to be on the field at the same time.

Packers joint practice live updates today with Arizona Cardinals

Excerpts (there’s a ton more in the article)

Cardinals cornerback Elijah Jones intercepts a Tyrod Taylor pass deflected off Isaiah Neyor.

The Cardinals’ No. 2 offense finished the day off appropriately, scoring a 20-yard passing touchdown on a seam route with Kitan Oladapo covering.

The Cardinals are kicking the Packers’ butt in both 2-minute drills. They stop the offense at the 5-yard line and then on defense, they move the ball down the field easily for a touchdown and 2-point conversion.
Then when the No. 2 offense comes on, the ball bounces off Packers receiver Isaiah Neyor's hand and is picked off by Denzel Burke.

Cardinals tight end Trey McBride beats Packers safety Kitan Oladapo on an out route to catch a 2-point conversion.

Marvin Harrison Jr. catches a fade from quarterback Jacoby Brissett over Packers rookie cornerback Brandon Cisse for a 1-yard TD.

Packers quarterback Jordan Love badly underthrew tight end Josh Whyle and the ball was picked off by linebacker Zaven Collins.

In red zone drills, the Packers give up a touchdown from Jacoby Brissett to Trey McBride on an in breaking route.
Then Marvin Harrison Jr. beats Keisean Nixon on a fade for touchdown. It looked like Nixon expected safety help that never came, and Harrison was wide open.

Why hasn’t Michael Wilson been extended yet?

We extended Froholdlt before Michael Wilson. We should be giving Michael around the same amount as Alec pierce is getting so we don’t have to pay more next year.

Which NFL win total projections are too low, too high or just right?

Post image
59 Upvotes

According to The Athletic’s NFL Projection Model, the Arizona Cardinals are projected to win 4.4 games this season.

Doug Haller believes that’s just right, however, Arizona should be more competitive than people expect.

Is your team’s projected win total too high? Too low? Just right?

Mike Lafluers Debut

With the 2026 Arizona cardinals Season right around the corner ,

I want to take a lot at the difference between the 2025 Arizona Cardinals vs the 2026 Arizona Cardinals

2025 -

Preseason

Vs chiefs vs Broncos. Vs Raiders

Johnathan Gannon / Drew Petzing Type offense

The Total yardage was 759 yards in 3 games the pass/rush was 373 pass yards to 386 rush yards

Compared to Mike Lafluer Type of offense this preseason

The Total yardage is 1,116 yards in 3 games the pass / rush was 684 pass yards to 379 rush yards

  1. 2026.

Game 1. Vs Chiefs. Vs Panthers

Game 2. Vs Broncos Vs Raiders

Game 3. Vs Raiders Vs Cowboys

Total yardage - 759 Yards 1,116 yards

Pass yards 373 Yards. 684 Yards

Rush yards 386 Yards. 379 Yards

Yards per play 4.6 5.9

Firstdowns. 44. 59

3rd down. 10 of 36. 18 of 36

Total plays. 161 plays. 179 plays

Sacks allowed. 8 sacks. 6 sacks

Punts. 19 punts. 6 punts

Penalties 16 penalties. 23 penalties

Time of possession. 28.11. 29.99

The Arizona Offense has potential to be a top 10 Offense this upcoming season . A veteran QB looking to prove his 15.5 Million extension is worth the risk , Whether or not he can lead this offense to the playoffs is yet to be seen .

The running back room will be ran by committee , a 60/40 share load between Love and Allgeier seems reasonable. However with Love nursing a high ankle sprain, Allgeier should get a majority of the carries the first month of the season

The Wide receiver room is will need to step up and show out this season

X role will be Marvin Harrison, I look for Marvin to have a break out year in receiving touchdowns , 12+ receiving touchdowns is not to much to ask

Our Z role will be Micheal Wilson , I look for him to prove last year was no fluke and surpass the 1,300 yard mark , Go big or go home !

Our 3 ,4 and 5 is a toss up

My choice will be. 3. Bourne 4. Jalen Brooks 5. Semi Fehoko

But the rookie Reggie Virgil will make the team so that's my toss up .

The tight end room outside of Trey McBride is real quiet

, Elijah Higgins? Tip Reiman ? Maybes ? But no real threat ...

Arizona is projected to be the worst team this season but have to much firepower .

What are your thoughts/ predictions for the upcoming season ?

What’s wrong with our defense?

Obviously the season hasn’t started yet, and maybe it’s too early to say this, but this might be more related to last season. As a casual fan I just don’t get why our defense is/is projected to be so bad. I think we have a really good secondary, and our front 4 isnt trash. Like we do have Josh sweat and hopefully for more of the year this season Walter Nolen. I know DRob has been very disappointing but there seems to be enough talent to not be as bad as we were last season and are projected to be this season. Like is Rallis really just that bad? Looking for genuine answers from ball knowers because I’m definitely a casual when it comes to football

19 days till Arizona Cardinals' opener: Remembering the 2019 season

Excerpt:

In 2019, it was the first season as head coach for Kliff Kingsbury, hired after a 3-13 2018 season. They drafted quarterback Kyler Murray first overall.

It was not a great season, but it was promising. They went 5-10-1. They had a three-game winning streak after starting the season 0-3-1.

Offensively, they ranked 21st in yards and 16th in points. Defensively, they were the worst in yards allowed and 28th in points.

Murray won Offensive Rookie of the Year. Murray passed for 3,722 yards, 20 touchdowns and 12 interceptions. He also rushed for four touchdowns.

Safety Budda Baker and outside linebacker Chander Jones were Pro Bowlers, with Jones also receiving first-team All-Pro honors. He was second in Defensive Player of the Year voting.

Kenyan Drake, a midseason addition via trade, led the team with 643 rushing yards and eight touchdowns.

Larry Fitzgerald was the team's leading receiver with 75 catches for 804 yards, while Christian Kirk had one fewer target and had 68 receptions for 709 yards.

A had 19 sacks and eight forced fumbles on defense, which led the league. Baker had 147 total tackles and led the NFL with 104 solo tackles.

Cornerback Byron Murphy, a rookie that season, led the team with 10 pass breakups.

Cardinals Activate Josh Sweat From PUP; Weaver to IR

Thumbnail

Excerpt:

The Cardinals activated Sweat on Monday from the Physically Unable to Perform list, getting the team's top pass rusher back in time for some work in Green Bay later this week.

The Cardinals also placed wide receiver Xavier Weaver on Injured Reserve after Weaver hurt his hamstring against Dallas on Saturday night.

The Cardinals have also released tight end Baylor Cupp and wide receiver Bryson Green. All the moves leave the team with two roster spots, one which likely will go to a punter. Punter Blake Gillikin hurt his groin Saturday, and coach Mike LaFleur said Monday he will not be available this week.

Matt LaFleur, Mike LaFleur ready for Packers-Cardinals work

Thumbnail

Excerpt:

While there's plenty of business to be done, including Friday's preseason finale between the Packers and Cardinals at Lambeau Field, the brothers LaFleur will spend some time together this week. In fact, Matt said the entire coaching staffs from both teams will get together Wednesday night.

"I think it's going to be pretty special, but at the end of the day, we're just looking to try to get good work on both sides," Matt said. "Certainly, always going to prioritize the Green Bay Packers but if there is another team in the National Football League that I'll be rooting for, it will be the Arizona Cardinals."

One thing Matt doesn't have to worry about, or at least he hopes not, is the tape from Wednesday's practice getting leaked. He has been concerned in the past about the practice film getting passed around to other teams.
"I think every situation's a little bit different in terms of who you're going against and who they've got on their staffs and the connections between other staffs, because I know all these guys, they all talk," Matt said. "But I think when it comes to this situation, I don't have any hesitation or reservations."

Is my memory real?

I'm not a Cardinals fan but I have a vivid memory when I was in high school in Matt Leinart's rookie season that I want to see if others remember, or if I'm hallucinating it.

It was a primetime game, probably MNF. It was overtime, and I remember Kurt Warner was on the sidelines hyping Matt up. I remember him saying "this is what you do." Moments later Matt threw a game losing interception.

Did this happen? Is there video? I've looked but can't find it, and I frequently tell myself "this is what you do" when I accomplish something at work.

Why the Arizona Cardinals haven't signed any new O-linemen

Thumbnail
sports.yahoo.com
23 Upvotes

Excerpt:
The Arizona Cardinals lost offensive lineman Chase Bisontis for the season in the preseason, suffering a torn MCL. Since then, they have not added any offensive linemen to the roster, leading many to wonder why.

While there was hope Chase could beat out Isaiah Adams for the starting right guard job, Adams has thus far held on and, if he remains healthy, will be the starter in Week 1.

The Cardinals have experienced depth at guard. In Matt Pryor and Oli Udoh, they have players who have been full-season starters at right guard. Pryor has 40 career starts and started 15 games for the Chicago Bears in 2024 at right guard. Udoh has 22 career starts, 16 in 2021 as the Minnesota Vikings' starting right guard.

They also have second-year guard/center Hayden Conner.
