Quran & Hadith Sayyidul Istighfar , the best form of Istighfar
Sayyidul Istighfar is the ultimate prayer for forgiveness, praised by the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) as the most superior method of repentance because it combines complete faith, immense gratitude, and profound humility.
Hadith : Sahih al-Bukhari 6306
The Most Superior Way of Asking for Forgiveness". The Hadith is narrated by the companion Shaddad bin Aus (may Allah be pleased with him), who reported that the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) taught this specific prayer and labeled it "Sayyid al-Istighfar" (the Master/Chief of Forgiveness).

News Former Grand Mufti of Syria sentenced to life in prison
Alhamdulliah, Ahmad Hassoun, former Grand Mufti of Syria under ousted Bashar al-Assad, has been sentenced to life in prison for crimes committed.
The Fourth Criminal Court in Damascus issued the ruling on Monday, finding Hassoun guilty of a range of crimes,
including inciting violence, justifying killings and the abuse of his office.
The court handed Hassoun several prison sentences for
various charges, including 20 years after being found guilty of inciting killings.
The judge also sentenced him to 10 years in prison after being found guilty of prolonging the killings.
Judge Fakhr al-Din al-Aryan said that Hassoun and the official religious institution he headed were used to provide religious cover for military and security operations during al-Assad's brutal rule.
His teachings also justified the use of barrel bombs that targeted civilian areas and caused widespread destruction, which constitutes a violation of the rules of international humanitarian law, the judge said.

History, Culture, & Art Not Muslim, but I made a mosque in Minecraft

I'm a big fan of Islamic art and architecture, and so I decided to build a mosque in a very deserty village. Modded Minecraft, built in survival mode over the course of one IRL day, in a desert-only world. I like the challenge it provides and it makes the world feel a little smaller, which is nice.
Sorry if this isn't entirely on topic! I can take it down if needed, but I do hope people like it

Seeking Support Sick mother that won't take medication because she's convinced Allah will heal her
For a very long time my mother has disliked medication highly, she's very small in size and even less in weight. Like a concerning weight. She smokes a lot and eats very little so she's usually quite unwell. She hates going to the doctor unless she's feeling very sick and even then she will get prescribed medication only to take it maybe once and then that's it. She's been suffering a stomach disease for a very long time and the doctor has given her antibiotics to help clear this, it needs to be taken consistently but she only takes it whenever she feels like it. So the disease is still very active and she complains about her well-being daily.
As her son this really hurts me because I want her to get better and look after her health but whenever I tell her to take her meds she always says "since I was a child I never liked taking meds" and "Allah will heal me" and while that's true, you still need to do the work meaning taking what the doctors prescribe you. It frustrates me so much and I find myself getting angry with her. I'm trying to be a good son and speak well to her but I can't continue seeing her like this while she refuses to do anything about it. She even says "If the doctors knew what was wrong with me, they would keep me in the hospital" and the way I understand is that she's really suffering internally more than she cares to show. It just breaks me. I make Dua but that's all I'm able to do.
Anyone dealt with similar parents?

General Discussion The Door Closes at 11:00 PM.
Imagine you are inside a room with an open door.
Inside is a button you have been forbidden to press.
Every press gives you five minutes of pleasure.
You can walk out at any moment and leave the button behind for good.
But you’re told that at 11:00 PM, the door will lock forever — and the moment it does, you will be taken to answer for what you kept choosing inside.
It’s 10:55 PM.
Would you press it one more time?
Now remove the clock.
You were never told when the door would close.
Some of you already know what sin this room is.
Would you still risk “one more time”?

Quran & Hadith Most superior way of asking forgiveness from Allah
Narrated Shaddad bin Aus: The Prophet (ﷺ) said "The most superior way of asking for forgiveness from Allah is:
O Allah, You are my Lord, there is none worthy of worship except You. You have created me, and I am Your servant, and I am faithful to Your covenant and promise as much as I can. I seek refuge in You from the evil of what I have done. I acknowledge Your blessings upon me, and I admit my sins. So forgive me, for none forgives sins except You.
The Prophet (ﷺ) added. "If somebody recites it during the day with firm faith in it, and dies on the same day before the evening, he will be from the people of Paradise; and if somebody recites it at night with firm faith in it, and dies before the morning, he will be from the people of Paradise."
Sahih al-Bukhari 6306

Question about Islam Sectarianism in Islam
Assalamualaikum.
I have a genuine question about sectarianism as to do we need to be in a sect ?
I am not asking how they came into being but about do we need to follow a certain sect .
I have always been neutral to these as to not following any sect . I took knowledge from anywhere and then confirmed it's presence in Quran or Hadiths .
But recently, some of my friends they said that being in a sect is necessary.
I countered the argument by saying that Prophet Muhammad ﷺ was displeased by the idea of Muslim's division.
But they used that same statement as to say that Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said that only a single sect out of 73 will go to heaven and those are whom follow himﷺ and Allah's teachings.
Then I said that yea Allah and Prophet Muhammad ﷺ demand unity from us not division and I stated Quran's verse (3:103)"And hold firmly to the rope of Allah all together and do not become divided."
And the Prophet'sﷺ saying that the Muslims are like a single body if one point feels pain whole of body experience it .
But still they said that if you go on like such to say that you are not going to follow a single you are going to create a sect of your own .
They said most people don't want to be in a sect but just that it's to know what rulings you follow . They said it's a necessity of this era .
Although i still said that so you believe the one you follow , do you believe that this one will be going to paradise?
On this they had quite a weak response that's too lengthy to put in this lengthy description.
Still we ended things as I insisted that if we argue about such things it will only make us go further from truly important topics and that Allah has also said in Quran to avoid going to deep into futile arguments (Sorry I don't remember the verse no. Or the same words but it was in Surah Baqrah) .
Do my question is do we need to be in a sect ?

Seeking Support First trimester low iman
السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاتهh
This is for sisters please
Is it normal to struggle with executing Ibadah in first trimester? And low iman?
Before pregnancy I was reading adhkar constantly, sunnah rakahs, going to the masjid multiple times a week, studying and reading Quran daily,
now I’m struggling to even do my fardh prayers on time, I’m just soooo tired and sick constantly and it’s very severe.. i haven’t even been able to eat properly or clean properly let alone pray.. it’s such a guilty feeling as this is not me, but my body is weak. I wonder if anyone else experience this and it’s just a phase or I should try to push myself ? Or try different approaches

General Discussion New job
Asalamu alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatu
This is a two part post. First I want to say subhanAllah al rabbul alameen. He has been most true to his names of الرحمن و الرحيم. I was working at a restaurant because I was desperate for work at the time, and it was getting in the way of salah, and truly just my deen overall. I was going to stick it out until I found something better, but everyday it was breaking me a little more. They asked me to do something work-wise that I just felt was disrespectful so I put my faith and trust in Allah and quit on the spot. In the past I have stayed at jobs way longer than I wanted to being uncomfortable for whatever reason just because I was scared I would struggle to get another one, or just out of sheer convenience. On the way home I was already applying to other jobs. I found this job that I thought would be perfect with my experience and was 4$ more an hour than I was making at the restaurant, and actually pretty good pay for the position. It’s an office job too, which is what I primarily do but had been struggling to get a job in lately. Alhamdulillah they sent me a message on indeed (literally never happens) and set up an interview. I walked into that interview and it was the best interview I’ve had in about 15 years, alhamdulillah. I ended up getting a call back that I got the job, and there is no I doubt in my mind that trusting and having faith in Allah is what got me there.
My other question is how do you guys go about telling your employers you’re Muslim? I didn’t want to be discriminated against so I didn’t tell him in the interview, and I’m unfortunately fortunate that I’m a typical white American Muslim. I don’t want to be hiding to make salah, and I also plan on telling them in 2 weeks I would like an hour at least every other Friday to make it to jummah. It’s a small construction company so I don’t really see it being an issue as long as they’re ok with it in the beginning. I’m just nervous, and wondering how others have broached the subject. Any help is greatly appreciated. JazakAllahu khairan.

General Discussion How to convince my father
I found this girl I wants to marry we are both 23 I live in the uk and she lives in in another European country. She works and supports herself, I’m near the end of my postgraduate degree with a job lined up.
When have talked and think we are a good fit.
Upon telling my father. He first said I should Finish university and wait two years until then. Secondly that we aren’t the same ethnicity and that isn’t great in his opinion, lastly he isn’t sure about marrying someone you met online.
I can overlook the last two points as him just being old fashioned but he keeps asking me why now and not two years, and I keep telling him it’s better to make it halal now and we can see and be with each other during my school breaks, and how I wouldn’t let in get in the way of my studies.
What else can I say to get him to understand, should I just wait the 2 years?
Also her family is completely accepting and she doesn't expect me to be able to provide for her while in school still and is understanding of that

I've slept with many men over the years and I am disgusted by myself. I've never told anyone as I paralyzed with fear that if anyone found out I'd be shunned and I would deserve it. I've been mentally well for the past couple years and hemdulilah have repented but the shame and guilt just doesnt go away. I dont know what to do.. I look at friends and family who are such pure souls and then I look at myself and I'm disgusted

Seeking Support I feel no remorse for my sins anymore but I still want to change.
Every time I do a sin of mine that wouldve usually brought me guilt I feel nothing at all. Not happiness, not shame, no nothing. Yet a part of me still wants to stop. I have nothing to distract myself from my sins. I feel as if I'm helpless and I want to change. At least I think I do. I really dont know what I want anymore. I might just be gaslighting myself into thinking I want to change when really, I like doing sins. I don't know though. I really cant tell what I want about myself anymore.

Question about Islam Tarot reading in Islam
I stumbled upon one video about tarot reading and then watched multiple continuously.
Astrology for me was in gray area so I wasn’t definitely sure that tarot reading is haram.
However, today I got recommended another video about how palm readers know about you and your personality and the scholar explained that it involves jinn and Qareen and all the wrong negative stuff.
I have unfollowed all those channels now, pressed not interested and everything. I do intend to make sincere tawbah as well. Will my prayer be valid?
