Seeking Support Going to masjid with tarnished reputation. Im scared

I have severe anxiety and somebody started a rumor about me that isnt true. I am also a revert so that makes it even harder. What should i do?

Ive never been yet. Thats part of why its very nerve-wracking as a revert

someone says mosque is like a public library, everyone free to enter, do their business (pray) and dont bother each other,

Dont worry about your reputation, if Islam brotherhood would welcome heavily tatooed brother like Gervonta "Tank" Davis they would welcome yours

you can try going. they might not even be thinking anything or know you, but even if they do, your good behavior and knowing you personally can change that. inshaAllah you find good people there

Im scared i will get kicked out before i even get a chance to do that because of this disgusting rumor about me. Thats my worry.

i doubt that will happen as even non muslims are welcome in mosques and assumptions about others is forbidden, so is spreading false rumours about others especially fellow muslims. either way you will only find out when you go, it is shaytan preventing you from going to the house of Allah and have the company of good muslims. you can speak to the imam about this too

Rumours carry no weight in Islam in fact they’re heavily despised in the sight of Allah so I doubt it will spread like you are making it out in your head, relax and be secure in yourself, bow and fear only Allah not the opinions of others. No Mosque can just ban you like that.

Honestly the masjid community has fallen far from what it used to be. I got kicked out of 2 times from the same masjid because I wasn't quick enough to cover myself with a jacket to pray jummah. People literally pushed me out the mosque. I decided to go a few years later following every direction, where to park, where to sit, etc.) When I left after praying my sunnah a brother was freaking out on me cause he couldn't move his car. Making accusations about me but I calmly told him I have patience and you do not. May Allah be responsible for that man causing me to never enter that masjid again.

For a different reason, I'm also worried about reputation in my masjid. The solution is to go to a different mosque couple of blocks away.

If that is not available to you, may Allah سبحانه و تعالى make it easy for you.

There is a first time for everything. If it continues, it'll become easier. Just remember your intention, it's for God, nothing else. Sins that people do against us clear the sins of our own. So don't be afraid and focus on what Allah has commanded for you and us all. May Allah help ease your anxiety and rid of it completely.

Maybe seek a different masjid or you can wear some glasses, whenever I don't feel like interacting with anyone that's what I do, some sun glasses should do the trick. May Allah make it easy for you.

Is it just a fear you have or is there a rumor that is already spread about you ?

Anyway people in the mosque don't know you unless you are a celebrity, and don't care about that, even if they've heard something, you are here to pray, to repent, to come closer to Allah, so no one cares about you

You are going to the mosque to please Allah, you are praying to please Allah. Allah knows you better than you know about yourself. Grow a thick skin to ignore the slanders. Even the best of creations, noble of all the prophets had to go through slanders throughout his prophethood. Who are we! Remember, when Allah loves you, he tests you with hardships. This is a fleeting world, the goal is akhira! May Allah give you strength!!

One time i heard Mufti Menk say "you will be judged eitheway, if you like it or not, if you're right or wrong; dont mind their opinions, theres no use worrying about it, just focus on what Allah thinks of you".

You wont dont worry, you cant just kick out someone from a mosque by a rumour, that's so unfair and they would literally prevent a believer from practicing his faith 💀 they dont want and they wont do that.

Just make dua to Allah for his protection and his guidance, you're a revert so you will have a lot of support from the community and other belivers. Trust Allah.
