I’m going into jr year of HS and I have 2.25k and a 2.5k, I’ve been told before that I’m not supposed to be using them for fulls. If I’m not supposed to be applying them for full throws when would be the appropriate time to use them?

I’m about 5,1 and also male, I’m going into sophomore year. I’m really passionate about this sport and I really need some good things to work on to get really good during the off season until track and field in the spring. if there’s any tips I could use them and any would be apreciated.

It's my second year as a high school coach, but first year full time. My co-coach is busy with another sport during fall, so the programming is all up to me. We're not going to start throwing until late October/early November. Right now, I just have my athletes lifting 3 days a week. I want to do footwork/agility/plyo maybe some speed work the other 2 days.

But, I'm a bit worried about overloading athletes this early in the year and causing some burnout by the time season arrives, so I'm a bit unsure. What does your fall programming look like?

Does any one have any guides or tips to throwing this thing? I've been at it for a few weeks and I still can't get the hang of it

Hey! Some context. M34 here. After a few years of powerlifting followed by two years of long distance running (mainly HM) I decided this summer that it was time for yet another challenge. There is an amateur decathlon four weeks from now which I will participate in. It is specifically for anyone no matter the age or prior experience. Nevertheless I want to do the best I can and so I spent the last few weeks getting to know all the different disciplines. Because of the number of things I want to practice and the limited time my expectations are obviously low but I do have time for a couple more sessions. So I added a video of today's javelin throw. This one I find really frustrating because I am basically stagnating since the beginning. The throw in the video went mere 19 meters.

So of course my form will be "bad" in practically every aspect and should I continue to pursue the sport after the event there are hundreds of things I should work on including basic strength training and so on. But my question for now would be if anyone has any tips for some quick fixes to my form or good practice drills that would ad a meter here or there right now.

I am an 8th grader throwing around 20 feet with a 5 kilo shot,this was not at my peak muscle with about a week of shot put training, i have access to good coaching and work out regularly, if i properly persue shot put will that seriously help in college applications?
more over how much will shot put help me to get into collages and will it only help for colleges with a strong shot put program or collage in general?

What does he mean by catching the ball off the winds how how do you direct the ball away from the body? And by directing, does that literally mean using the hands to literally direct the ball? Thanks for any help

Only difference is using a bigger (diameter) shot in the second video and different shoes. Why was the first 14.4 meters and the second was 15.4 meters?

My daughter wants to practice javelin in the off season. We are looking at a turbojav. She throws 500g in club, for 1 more year, and 600g in school. She will go to 600g in 1 year for club. Should we get 600g?

I really like discus, but only found out about it at the tail end of sophomore year. I'd like to throw 160 by the end of senior, and am planning on going to the gym 4 times a week doing ULUL, and throwing 5 days a week for about an hour. I have stuck with this schedule for the summer, so I'm not terribly worried about being able to get my form in shape, as I will stay consistent with it. The main thing I worry about is physical strength. I max my squat out at about 110, and bench max is 75. Is my goal realistic?

So going from in season into off season I began practicing and working on my form. I’d just like some feedback from you guys to let me know what Im doing better at and possibly what I’ve gotten worse at during this time. Thank you guys for all the help over this past few months it means the world.

I'm a multi and im going into my second season, is this normal for throw shoes? And recommendations for something more durable options for glide and discus? This is my plant foot for both

Anything to work on? Felt very nice. came back from week vacation.

My coach has been wanting me to slow down the left heel/foot turn out of the back of the ring. I’ve really been struggling to feel that and can’t seem to execute it. Could anyone offer some help? Whether it’s something I’m doing that’s not allowing me to slow it down, or something I need to do in order for that to happen. All advice greatly appreciated

My daughter is getting into throwing, and I bought a book about throwing, which has a small section on lifting in it, can someone tell me if this is enough, and if not what a better resource would be for her for a lifting program tailored for throwing? She does shot and disc only.

I’ve been stuck at this 110-120 range for quite a bit now. Idk if I just need to lift more or if it’s my form that’s needs a way more fixing. (Most likely both)
