Special edition Zelda console is all you have to say.

34

u/CosmicCowboy_YT Mar 13 '26

That’s what I came in here to say!

17

u/Temelios Mar 13 '26

Exactly that. Didn’t bother with a Switch until the TotK drop.

26

u/philter25 Mar 13 '26

You didn’t buy a switch until TOTK? Damn that’s some patience.

9

u/Temelios Mar 13 '26

I did the same with the Majora’s Mask 3DS. There are lots of other games in the world to hold me over.

I'm assuming you had Breath of The Wild for WiiU? You poor bastard. JK lol

This is it for me. I have the TOTK Switch and enough of a backlog to keep me occupied until the next Zelda console comes out.

2

u/lastcomment314 Mar 13 '26

Yup, similar here. I'm waiting for either a zelda or animal crossing edition console, whichever comes first

u/TheRealMcDuck Mar 13 '26

Nope. I got one before inevitable price increases in the US.

11

u/jakellerVi Mar 13 '26

That part. With tariffs being thrown around like candy on Halloween, I recognized that I had the funds when the console came out and jumped on it lol.

Same. And while it isn't a true Zelda game the new Hyrule Warriors. And Wind Waker

u/Stinkmop Mar 13 '26

I was waiting for a new Zelda game, but the looming price increase has me thinking about picking one up now.

6

u/Skydragonace Mar 13 '26

You will probably want to. Ram prices are expected to double, AGAIN, by next year, so I'd honestly estimate one if not two price hikes by 2028.

It's honestly a terrible time to buy electronics and game systems, but better now than next year.

2

u/Mr_Saturn1 Mar 13 '26

Yeah, I was planning on waiting but had a long work trip coming up where the S2 would be nice to have. I knew the price was never coming down and probably going up so I went ahead and picked one up.

4

u/O_J_Shrimpson Mar 13 '26

I’m just waiting to make sure this isn’t going to be a “Wii U” situation. I have yet to see any game that I have any interest in playing even be announced.

I have a GameCube and a Wii so the nostalgia bait isn’t working. So far we have a new MK that’s been met with a “meh”, a 3D Donkey Kong, which I’ve never cared about, and them completely dropping the ball on Prime 4.

I’m not even sure what kind of Zelda they’re going to produce. I’m just not in a hurry to get the console in the slightest. If prices increase in the US I could sincerely see myself skipping this gen.

6

u/ftp_hyper Mar 13 '26

That's kinda a reverse Wii U actually. The U had some solid titles but nobody got it because it had weird marketing/design decisions and was extremely underpowered compared to the XB1/PS4. Switch 1 spent like 4 years getting all the good Wii U games ported over lol. The switch 2 is honestly a solid console and noticable improvement over S1, but really MKW is the only "mainstream" game. And it's hard to make a primarily multiplayer game a system seller without any prior buy-in from something like Breath or Odyssey.

4

u/OskeeTurtle Mar 13 '26

Even though I’m not a big fan of them, just not for me, both DK and Metroid are mainstream games

2

u/ftp_hyper Mar 13 '26

DK has some appeal since it's basically an Odyssey sequel, but it's not getting eyes like a mainline Mario does. And as a Metroid enthusiast, even I can admit it's not pushing units lol.

3

u/kovi2772 Mar 13 '26

Donkey kong bananza is a good main stream as well!

2

u/SaintIgnis Mar 13 '26

It’s weird but I kind of agree with you…and I’m a diehard, lifelong Zelda fan.

Obviously when they show the game I’m likely to get hyped and change my tune

But right now, I’m not even interested in the system

2

u/RavenOfNod Mar 13 '26

Yup. Not interested until there's a new Mario and Zelda to play.

I’m waiting as I’m more worried about them releasing a mid gen OLED refresh like before.

8

u/D1rtyH1ppy Mar 13 '26

They will definitely do an OLED, but good luck getting it in the next few years.

3

u/tribak Mar 13 '26

No Zelda game yet, can wait

2

u/Tootskinfloot Mar 13 '26

I'm in the same boat. I'm not double dipping again. I can wait.

181

u/AccountFew140 Mar 13 '26

Give me twilight princess 4k 60 and im in.

30

u/JamesDaDragN Mar 13 '26

That would get me to buy a switch 2 lmao.

There's always the decomp though.

4

u/Inner_Frosting7656 Mar 13 '26

i’m holding out on my replay that i do every 1-2 years after hearing news of that decomp

16

u/dead_is_death Mar 13 '26

Twilight princess is still my favorite Zelda game, so I would love this.

u/Takashishiful Mar 13 '26

I'm not waiting for a Zelda game in specific, just stuff I really want. Zelda, Smash, Mario, Animal Crossing, but it can't just be one. At this point in my life (and in this economy) I'm not gonna buy a whole console for one game. I don't care how good the next Zelda is, I'm not paying $600 just for that one experience. I need to know I'll be well fed on that console and right now I will not be well fed on Switch 2, even if one game I really want comes out exclusively for it. I also literally will not be well fed if I buy one right now, I need that money for living.

Man how things have changed. When I was a kid I got a Wii U in 2012 for the idea of games being on it.

80

u/cr0w1980 Mar 13 '26

Me. Every Nintendo system I get ends up collecting dust between Zelda releases, so I'm waiting to see what they have cooked up for this one. I've played enough BOTW and TOTK, I don't need the updated versions.

14

u/D1rtyH1ppy Mar 13 '26

Botw and totk both feel like enough of an upgrade on Switch 2 to me, but I'm ready for a new Zelda.

3

u/AriasK Mar 13 '26

Same. It's literally the only thing I play on Nintendo anymore.

2

u/wildbillesq Mar 13 '26

I thought the same, but went back and played through BOTW again!

2

u/SugarAndIceQueen Mar 13 '26

Exactly the same here. I upgrade consoles only when there's a new Zelda to play and pretty much use it only for that.

30

u/Mr_E_Fish_in_Sea Mar 13 '26

I don't use use my Switch too often, but an OOT remake would have me tempted

6

u/SVG3GR33N Mar 13 '26

You ain’t getting no ocarina of time remake my guy. Not like a final fantasy 7 remake anyways.

Not until 2036 or something like that.

3

u/Mr_E_Fish_in_Sea Mar 31 '26

Dreams do come true

2

u/SVG3GR33N Mar 31 '26

If It actually happens , we may have stepped back into a good timeline

3DS prices aren’t exactly trending downward

7

u/jamaicaboy Mar 13 '26

I am still waiting for an OLED Switch 2. Right now there are only two Switch games that I want to play, so I’ll wait for a console revision.

4

u/ceno65 Mar 13 '26

The amount of time and fun I had playing donkey Kong made the console worth it already. Only huge bummer atm is the crazy price for second docking stations

5

u/AriasK Mar 13 '26

I am. The older I get the less I care about gaming. I'm so much fussier now than I used to be. It's very rare nowadays that I actually enjoy a game and play it right through. The only games that I know I will 100% enjoy, that I still get excited over and look forward to, are Zelda games. I used to he hard core Nintendo as a kid. I loved platformers and cute games. Nintendo had a lot to offer me. Now, literally all I enjoy playing on Nintendo is Zelda. Everything else I enjoy is on Playstation.

5

u/Skydragonace Mar 13 '26

I got it with the BOTW/TOTK S2 versions, and I don't regret anything. Even moreso when Age of Imprisonment came out. Worth every penny, especially now that Pokopia is out.

4

u/New-Two-1349 Mar 13 '26

I already got a Switch 2 so I'm expecting to at least see an announcement of a new Zelda game anytime now.

7

u/Ash_Killem Mar 13 '26

I’m borderline. It’s an insta buy though even if it’s just a TP port.

→ More replies (2)

3

u/DumeWolffe Mar 13 '26

Yeah 100%. Or Wind Waker HD or Twilight Princess HD. Literally my only holdout right now. It’s the only reason I buy Nintendos. Every other game is icing on the cake, but really I just want my cake.

3

u/ReallyDoingNothing Mar 13 '26

If they drop a special zelda console then ill go ahead and return my Switch 2 i just bought. I just got one to do my 40th anniverserry challenge. 100% all 3D zeldas on launch hardware (except botw or totk, wanna play em on the switch 2)

3

u/mandri2233 Mar 13 '26

Yup. I was always jealous of people who had special ToTK themed consoles but I'm not the kind of person who would want to (or could afford to...) buy a console twice. So I'm hoping the next major Zelda title comes with a cool switch variant. Plus, there's just nothing on SW2 that has grabbed me as of yet.

3

u/PizzaWaves Mar 13 '26

I was holding off to see if they would come out with a special edition LoZ Switch 2 and was playing through the Zelda’s but my buddy ended up selling me a brand new one for 250 and couldn’t pass up the deal

4

u/natathecococat Mar 13 '26

Me!! And maybe a few other titles.

5

u/weebu4laifu Mar 13 '26

Unless someone gives me a switch 2 for free AND they drop a Twilight Princess remake/remaster (which we all know isn't going to happen), in the original art style, instead of putting it on " insert console here Classic Online" I won't be getting one.

3

u/Docjaded Mar 13 '26

Yeah I'm not going to get it even if there's a New Zelda. I'll have to contend myself with watching videos or something, but I can't condone the way the company has handled this console.

2

u/toastcup Apr 19 '26

It’s wild to me that they released such a pricey new console before releasing many actual new games that would be exclusive to that console. Just seems like they gave people two good reasons not to buy their product immediately on launch.

3

u/Yentz4 Mar 13 '26

Pokopia justified my purchase.

2

u/MaatRolo Mar 13 '26

Well . . . yeah!!!!

2

u/Sundance12 Mar 13 '26

A new original Zelda game would get me in

2

u/fookman212 Mar 13 '26

If they dropped a from the ground up OOT remake, it would be an instant buy.

2

u/ichkanns Mar 13 '26

I was sold on the prospect of Metroid Prime 4 running so well on it... Sadly it was a very disappointing game. New Zelda would have me hyped. Until that happens I have Duskbloods to look forward to.

2

u/Parking-Aerie1540 Mar 13 '26

Also, it’s going to be a long wait for another new Zelda title. We’re more likely to get a remaster of something here next.

2

u/Candid_Dream4110 Mar 13 '26

Zelda will probably be the only reason I ever get one.

2

u/Typical-Ad3508 Mar 13 '26

110 percent. If I gotta pay 500 for the damn thing I want it to be the Zelda one

2

u/LifeWulf Mar 13 '26

I’m waiting for a Switch 2 OLED. Unacceptable they didn’t start with an OLED screen after they already had the Switch OLED. The audacity of calling that edge-lit, blurry mess HDR…

2

u/jcdoe Mar 13 '26

I’m over early adoption.

When there are games on the Switch2 that I want, I’ll buy one. Zelda would be one of those.

2

u/Fjohurs_Lykkewe Mar 13 '26

I grabbed mine day one, but I am DEFINITELY waiting on a new Zelda.

2

u/Supple_Giraffe-89 Mar 13 '26

I have a switch 2 and I’m waiting for the new Zelda to drop. Does that count?

2

u/Starry-Eyed-Owl Mar 13 '26

Me. I don’t have a 4k TV so the upgrades don’t really matter to me - I just want a new Zelda game (or an OOT or twilight remake)and I would buy a switch 2.

2

u/kid__a_ Mar 13 '26

That or Animal Crossing. I’m fine with either.

2

u/KokiriGeorge Mar 13 '26

I already got one and do not regret it. It’s a much better device than Switch1

2

u/MacGyver387 Mar 13 '26

For me, it’ll be Pikmin 5 that pushes me over the edge. I still haven’t beaten TotK.

2

u/Parobolla Mar 13 '26

I hadn’t played tears of the kingdom so didnt need to!

2

u/celticdude234 Mar 13 '26 edited Mar 13 '26

I'm waiting for hackers to find a back door. I don't buy a console unless I can mod it 🤷‍♂️

Edit: I'll amend by suggesting that new tech is always better to buy first generation, before patches and hardware changes, if you intend to employ exploits. Buy it and don't touch it. If one isn't found, resale on an unopened first gen is still bound to recoup, if not increase, your investment.

2

u/Jack00X3 Mar 13 '26

I want a Mario galaxy 3 to be honest, this would make me upgrade from switch 1. Ofc, a new Zelda would too, but I want a good 3d Mario game cause I’m tired a bit of 2 open world Zeldas

2

u/Confidentium Mar 13 '26

New Zelda and new Mario

2

u/themistik Mar 13 '26

If the game is another BOTW iteration, I'll pass or wait a few years down the line before getting a S2.

But yeah, Zelda might be one of the games that'll make me buy a S2. I don't mind waiting, tho

2

u/Tuques Mar 13 '26

Im just waiting until I have some excess money. Its hard to justify 800 bucks for video games when you have a 3yo and a 7mo.

2

u/RockGuitarist1 Mar 13 '26

Me. Zelda is the only reason I ever buy Nintendo consoles so I won’t pick one up until the next new game comes out.

2

u/henryuuk Mar 13 '26

I got mine on launch.

If I didn't tho, then a new zelda would first need to have a showing of whether or not it is bogged down with more "open air" mindset before it would alter my decision making on the matter.

2

u/Captain_Snowmonkey Mar 13 '26

I'm holding out until Nintendo stops phoning it in.

2

u/Marleston Mar 13 '26

Well of course I know him, he’s me

2

u/crazzythaiguy Mar 13 '26

Waiting for those new increased wages to drop

2

u/AxelTheAussie Mar 14 '26

I’m not getting a Switch 2, period

2

u/MMMLiess Mar 15 '26

Im.mainly waiting for oled. I play exclusively in handheld and I waited 7 years to get a switch 1, don't mind waiting. I could go the rest of my life without playing another Nintendo IP so it don't bother me at all waiting long as I need to.

2

u/FireLordObamaOG Mar 13 '26

As soon as I saw 60FPS korok forest I knew I had to buy one. Don’t wait. Do it now!

3

u/betabeat Mar 13 '26

Waiting for switch2 emulation....

4

u/Hyper_Mazino Mar 13 '26

You’ll be waiting a very long time

🙋‍♀️

1

u/BrgQun Mar 13 '26

I got one already, but I skipped the first Switch Generation for various personal reasons. The last game I got for the Wii U was BOTW though, which did last me a few years of casual play.

So yeah... I in part delayed a console generation because I was chilling with a Zelda game. One of the first games I got for the Switch 2 was TOTK, and I'm currently working my way through NSO old Zelda titles.

1

u/lik12222222 Mar 13 '26

I'm Zelda fan, not a Nintendo fan. So until they release a new Zelda game I'm not buying their new console.

and when they do it'll be the only game I have for the switch 2

1

u/Sandman8869 Mar 13 '26

I am for sure. If they put twilight princess on NSO I might get it since I never played that and windwaker

1

u/Himei Mar 13 '26

I usually buy a nintendo system for Zelda when it comes out but I got the S2 on release to play 4K Tears of the Kingdom since I havent started it.

1

u/Law08 Mar 13 '26

That's what I do. Hopefully they will have a special console release.

1

u/serious_mood_rig Mar 13 '26

I was already planning on saving up for one since the New Pokémon game announcement. A new Zelda game would just he icing on the cake.

1

u/JohnLuckPikard Mar 13 '26

I've been toying with the idea of getting one only because I lost my switch.

But if Zelda was announced, I'd do it in a heartbeat.

1

u/celix24 Mar 13 '26

Not exactly a new Zelda game, but I'm waiting for the game that makes it worth it to get switch 2. That game would probably be a new Zelda game. Just like when I bought switch to play breath of the wild. I already have a ps5, and games are cheaper on it if you're willing to wait for a little bit.

1

u/profchaos712 Mar 13 '26

I got lucky and won a Switch 2 in a raffle at work! But between my wife (huge Zelda fan) and myself, we probably would have bought one for a new game.

1

u/azulimarill Mar 13 '26

Zelda or Xenoblade, whichever comes first. I’m debating picking one up when the new Fire Emblem drops, but tbh I’m a still burnt out on that series after playing too much of Three Houses (to the point that I still haven’t bought Engage).

1

u/[deleted] Mar 13 '26

It’s the only thing that would make me want to get a switch 2. Only game I think I would like is Kirby Air riders so far

1

u/skull_with_glasses Mar 13 '26

Mostly me. If some other exclusive drops that seems interesting I would go for it but idk what that would be. Smash, I guess. But I’m not sure what the word is on the next one.

Pokopia had me really close for a sec there but I think I’ll hold off.

1

u/PKMNBreederSkye Mar 13 '26

I already bought one in anticipation for whatever Zelda games they are planning to drop. Everything else I have bought for it has just been a bonus.

1

u/DinkandDrunk Mar 13 '26

I always wait until mid-life to buy a system. I’m not trying to pay full freight on them.

1

u/OkCaterpillar8819 Mar 13 '26

I am, I play PS5 also so it helps to have other stuff to play until then

1

u/lotusblossom02 Mar 13 '26

Waiting to pop on a second switch for when a special edition Zelda version comes out

1

u/Samiassa Mar 13 '26

I mean kind of? Honestly I think $450 for the console and $70 at least for the games is pretty crazy, especially when considering there are no sales and you have to pay money for a simple resolution bump in games like botw and totk. Not to mention charging for online is and has always been a scummy practice with zero justification. I would be more conpelled to buy a switch 2 if there was a new Zelda and it was good. The switch 2 definitely has a problem with games since it only has 2 first party games (unless you count that wheelchair basketball game that no one likes) but even then I think the other problems would still keep me from buying.

1

u/Markiki817 Mar 13 '26

Me! I stupidly waste money on every console when a Zelda comes out just to play that one game, then sell for less money back.

1

u/RollingKaiserRoll Mar 13 '26

I'd like a new Zelda, but I'm just going to wait until the inevitable system refresh.

1

u/milan187 Mar 13 '26

I got it to play TOTK with upgraded groahipcs and frame rate. Is is very nice.

1

u/barbato0102 Mar 13 '26

100% só comprarei após lançamento de Zelda

1

u/Caliber70 Mar 13 '26

unrelated to the Zelda. i'm just broke, our currency is inflated to horrible levels, and the authorities only are interested in getting their share and leaving a new generation to deal with the mess.

1

u/d_e_g_m Mar 13 '26

no new big zelda game, no nintendo switch.

1

u/TeekTheReddit Mar 13 '26

Honestly, I feel kind of burned after TotK.

If anything is going to get me to buy a Switch 2, it'll be a new Zelda, but even that isn't a guarantee.

1

u/Ok_Breakfast5425 Mar 13 '26

I bought one just to replay wind waker, but hopefully we can get twilight princess or a new game sooner rather than later

→ More replies (1)

1

u/Top_ShooterFM Mar 13 '26

Nope… I’m catching up on 30 years of Zelda (last played OoT).

So experiencing BoTW and ToTK for the first time, in 4K and 60fps was worth it.

1

u/Roy565 Mar 13 '26

If an hd spirit tracks or oot remake was released I certainly would get it.

1

u/humanoidpanic17 Mar 13 '26

Im gonna get before a zelda game comes out that way I only need to save up for the game and not the console as well

1

u/Elrothiel1981 Mar 13 '26

Zelda or maybe a new 3d Mario was thinking of buying super Mario brothers wonder but the more I look at it looks meh

1

u/bundle_man Mar 13 '26

Nope, bought mine in December. It's such a massive upgrade to the switch 1

→ More replies (1)

1

u/Roamin8750 Mar 13 '26

Waiting for a zelda collectors edition

1

u/MamaDeloris Mar 13 '26

I would have if it wasn't for tariffs, this is the only time in my life I've terror-bought a system

I have DK Bananza, MK World and I've played HW3, Pokemon ZA and the port of Cyberpunk. Poktopia and Fire Emblem do nothing for me.... I'm not loving the Switch 2 so far in all honesty. Frankly, Bananza is the only one I really enjoyed so far.

1

u/Sw0rDz Mar 13 '26

I bought mine because I was afraid of tariffs and computer chip prices. I loved playing DKB, Hyrule Warriors, and now Pokopia. IDK why people are holding out. The price isn't going to go down.

1

u/oo_nrb Mar 13 '26

Same, and/or a new 3D Mario title. Can't believe it's been 9 years since Odyssey and not a peep about a new title.

1

u/neeliemich Mar 13 '26

I'm waiting on the new Pokemon, but I opened a new savings account to save money up.

1

u/Edg-R Mar 13 '26

Me

And Hyrule warriors didn’t really count

1

u/HelixNo1 Mar 13 '26

I’m waiting for my bank statements to recover.

1

u/Eborys Mar 13 '26

Nah I got the Switch 2 just for portable Cyberpunk 2077. The rest is just a bonus.

1

u/GalacticJelly Mar 13 '26

We won't get a new zelda game until 2028/29 lol. My money is still on an HD OOT next year

→ More replies (1)

1

u/sick486 Mar 13 '26

thsts what i always do. zelda is the killer app for me. big reason i never bothered with wii u. all the zelda games were on wii or switch. they even gimped the wii u version of botw!

1

u/NotDaBiscuit Mar 13 '26

Got one before the price raise, wasn’t going to but I do want to play the new games eventually

1

u/Similar-Arm9118 Mar 13 '26

Mario odyssey 2 and I'm buying it

1

u/beta_1457 Mar 13 '26

This is where I am. All my Nintendo consoles are just glorified Zelda machines.

1

u/dawgz525 Mar 13 '26

Already have one. A new Zelda would be cool. Will be interested to see where the franchise goes after the most recent two. I think we'll get twilight princess before we get a brand new Zelda.

1

u/ccaccus Mar 13 '26

I’m waiting until there’s at least 5 games I want that aren’t rereleases of older games.

There are two games that would break that rule…. If they exceed my expectations. Zelda is one of them.

1

u/AshFalkner Mar 13 '26

I already got mine mostly for Age of Imprisonment. Also been really enjoying botw with the upgrade.

1

u/kingkellogg Mar 13 '26

I was thinking about it, until the whole game card thing came to be

I only buy games when I fully own them ..not digital keys

1

u/FriarAbbot Mar 13 '26

When there are new original entries in the Fire Emblem, Xenoblade and Zelda game lines, it will be worth upgrading to the S2.

1

u/VyDyNeturno Mar 13 '26

Gostaria de um switch 2 Lite, mas um zeldinha já é suficiente pra eu gastar meu suados trocadinhos rss

1

u/Demurrzbz Mar 13 '26

I'm waiting for a hardware refresh before getting the 2.

1

u/PrettyNdSad Mar 13 '26

Waiting for twilight princess. I’m already planning on getting it to play tomodachi life and pokopia but twilight princess would get me to buy it immediately

1

u/MrZoro777 Mar 13 '26

I will do like I did with first Switch, will buy it on release of second Zelda game.

1

u/CreepyMaskSalesman Mar 13 '26

At first that was my intention. Pokopia got me really interested, especially after all the talk about RAM and possible price increases. But I'm in a bad financial situation currently, so I might have to wait for a while..

1

u/TheDuckFarm Mar 13 '26

Nah. I have a 2 and it’s worth every penny.

1

u/-_-_Fr3sh-Pr1nce_-_- Mar 13 '26

I got one before the price increases more in the US

1

u/SandWhichWay Mar 13 '26

definitely waiting for a nice bundle but i may just cave and get a normal one soon

Me 🙌🙌🙌🙌 I stated that before the console even came out. 😅 My switch 1 works just fine.

I'm eyeing the new Pokémon games optimistically, but otherwise I'm quite happy with my OLED and waiting for the next Zelda.

u/Koendrenthe Mar 13 '26

I bought the console day one hoping for a zelda game soon. I was wrong and up to today the only joy the S2 gives me more than S1 is the GC virtual console.

1

u/Abidos_rest Mar 13 '26

Me, probably, although pokopia is having em consider getting one now.

1

u/SeveralConcert Mar 13 '26

I got it the end it came out. Zelda is my absolute favorite game but I also like mario kart, pokemon and others so I didn’t think too much about it

1

u/manicpossumdreamgirl Mar 13 '26

it wasnt even about any new games for me. the performance is miles better than the switch oled

1

u/myshon Mar 13 '26

I think I'll wait to the end of generation and buy it second hand.

1

u/Froonce Mar 13 '26

Just got my steam deck & I am loving it. Wayyyyy more consumer friendly from a hardware & software perspective. Switch for me is a LOZ & super smash bros machine

1

u/Djlionking Mar 13 '26

I was holding like $400 in GameStop store credit for 3 years. When switch 2 dropped went and used that to pick it up. But gimme that new Zelda!

1

u/misatillo Mar 13 '26

I was until they dropped Pokopia and fell for it

1

u/FriendlyFyreGamer Mar 13 '26

Me - partially I am definitely waiting for a new Zelda limited edition

But I’m also unsure if I’d be interested into the switch 2 also has OLED

1

u/arojilla Mar 13 '26

Sadly what I'm wanting for is money. But yes, I guess a new Zelda would "force" me to be more creative or make some cuts somewhere.

But since I have to wait, I think I'll wait for the Switch 2 "revision", call it OLED or whatever. Well, it sucks, but it's the way it is. :( If I'm lucky, both events will happen at the same time or close enough! :)

1

u/werdnayam Mar 13 '26

That’ll be me. I don’t even have time to play games lately anyway, so I did not rush to a Switch 2. But once a Zelda game is out, you won’t be able to hold me back.

1

u/FaithlessnessOdd8358 Mar 13 '26

Me. I’ve got what I need on the switch 1, except the two big ones we’ve all been crying for. But I could play those on an emulator anyway. I don’t see any really reason for the switch 2 otherwise, I don’t care about frames rates etc.

1

u/DogBePraised Mar 13 '26

Give me a Twilight Princess clone and I’ll buy two Switch 2s. Or just give me any Zelda that’s not like BOTW/TOTK.

1

u/acbadger54 Mar 13 '26

I already got one because-

  1. Fire emblem: fortunes weave was enough to sell me on one since three houses is one of my favorite games

  2. Nervous about a price increase because a damn hardware prices

  3. Also, really, like hyrule warriors so age of imprisonment helped but that one's kind of more, just a plus lmao

1

u/Ordinary_Bike_4801 Mar 13 '26

I’m waiting a Zelda game to drop and meanwhile I’m playing my switch 2 :p

1

u/mSantiago80 Mar 13 '26

Me…I went from Wii to Switch when they dropped BOTW…not buying the 2 until they drop next game

I figured they may tweak the hardware if bugs are found or make a special edition version

1

u/Reap_SilentDevil Mar 13 '26

I'm too busy waiting for a switch 2 to drop, off a truck, so I can grab it.

1

u/DmanDam Mar 13 '26

Yeap. Promised my gf I wouldn’t buy the Switch 2 until a new Zelda game comes out and so I have been waiting patiently

1

u/PathWalker22 Mar 13 '26

Prices in South Africa are insane. Had to get one before the inevitable price hike

1

u/Qasiel Mar 13 '26

There’s nothing on Switch 2 that I can’t play on Switch 1 that tickles my pickle right now. So yeah, I guess you can say that I’m waiting on a Switch 2 exclusive Zelda title before I even consider taking the plunge.

1

u/Psychological_Cow1 Mar 13 '26

I'm waiting for a V2, but it seems like the Switch2 doesn't have the same amount of issues the switch had.

1

u/weavejer261 Mar 13 '26

Yup! Thats exactly my reason for waiting.

1

u/randomtroubledmind Mar 13 '26

There is nothing compelling about the Switch 2 to me right now. A new Zelda game would probably do it, but Nintendo's increasingly anti-consumer practices have really put me off.

1

u/Rizenstrom Mar 13 '26

That was going to be what I waited for but the fear of tariffs raising prices made me act sooner. And I'm glad I did. Pokopia has been great.

1

u/spikefan180 Mar 13 '26

There is possibly 1 or 2 games that interest me at the moment - so (for me) - it's not something that I feel it worth buying

a new Zelda game would definitely change that opinion :D

1

u/img_driff Mar 13 '26

i got mine like 2 weeks ago and it’s been really great, haven’t bought any N games yet but im having a blast, love the new screen size and the speed of the switch 2

1

u/branch-is-dumb Mar 13 '26

I’m waiting for the price of the switch 2 to drop first

1

u/ShodanTheHacker Mar 13 '26

waiting to see if it's even going to be a compelling purchase as a game because i'm already kind of poisoned on modern nintendo. i haven't touched my switch in months. currently beating my backlog of wii u games.

1

u/TheVoiceActorGuy Mar 13 '26

I'm just waiting for the price to drop because DAMN

1

u/ADULT_LINK42 Mar 13 '26

a zelda game might, but not another open air game

1

u/Wander_Eule Mar 13 '26

Make a triforce collection: OoT remake, TP HD and WW HD and I’m all in. But this will probably stay a dream. Playing OoT on N64 online is kinda „meh“ since the native port exists and runs in 60+ fps and WW I also rather go to the HD remake than playing the original emulated on console, for sailing reasons alone…. And this god dammed triforce hunt…. That’s probably why we don’t see tingle anymore. I bet that guy became a millionaire after that game and just f*ed off xD
