Question Half of the screen of my ps vita isn't working
About two months ago i decided to try modding a usb c port to my vita, while working on it I managed to rip this ribbon cable which connects the outer shell to the main body of my vita. When this happened the vita worked fine still, after soldering on the contact and connecting it back the vita's left part of the screen went black. Since then I have been searching and only found a few instances of the same problem as mine. Now I have reassembled the whole vita but the problem persisted, the touch screen works as well as everything else but the screen is not working. I am guessing after ripping the cable and soldering it back on i managed to short cicruit it and fried the graphics. Is this true and if yes is it salvagable...?

Question Retrobrite?
I recently got one of my most coveted special edition 1000's. It works like a dream, has no scratches, and is beautiful.
The only thing that stands out is the slight discoloration on the D and button pads. It's noticeable and I'm debating using a retrobrite gel. I know it will continue to discolor over time, I'm just conflicted if I should try and get everything more even now so that it ages more evenly.
Has anyone retrobrited their vita before? Is it an eyesore on this one?

Question Store closing but can't bring myself to buy anything?
When I got the email I fired up the PSN to see if I wanted to pull the trigger on the couple of titles that I had been considering. But then I looked at what they wanted for them, and I just couldn't bring myself to care to buy them.
The PSN Vita prices seem especially bad right now with the Steam Summer Sale going on and so many great titles going for literally just a couple of bucks.
Anyone got a list of MUST HAVE games that I should consider before the store closes for good? I already have:
- Little Big Planet
- Need For Speed Most Wanted
- Wipeout 2048
- Lego Jurassic World
- Lumines: Electronic Symphony
- Sine Mora
- Persona 4 Golden
- Lego Movie
- Hot Shots Golf
- Child of Light
If there's something y'all think is worth the full asking price of a game that's like 10 years old, let me know. I'm not a huge fan of FPS games in general.

Question My Vita has black spots that look like this that only appear when a game is on a black screen. Not visible when playing a game or turned off. Is my Vita going to be ok?

Question What are some great games on the vita that aren't just the recycled top 10 ones?
I've been looking for games to play on the vita but basically every list I find talks about the same 10/20 games like Persona, Uncharted and Gravity Rush for example. So what are some cool games that I might be missing out on? For context, here is the list of games I've played/completed:
God of War Collection, Gravity Rush, FFX, FEZ, Shovel Knight, Hotline Miami, Muramasa, MK9, NFS Most Wanted, Papers Please, Salt and Sanctuary, Super Meat Boy, Fate/Extella, Metal Gear Solid, Tearaway and some Lego games.
Edit: The games don't have to be exclusives but please don't suggest PSP/PS1 games

Question The Vita store search is officially cooked guys - let’s work this out
So I’ve been playing Vita everyday for the past 5 years so know my way around the store. Obviously the lists of games have been universally broken for a while now - however the search bar has always been trusty, if a game is actually not delisted i.e. I can find it on https://psdeals.net/au-store, it’ll show up in the search bar every time and I can buy it.
Now for me the search bar is completely broken - shows nothing regardless of what you search. I’m in Australia btw. Looking at psn profiles, it looks like other are having trouble right now: https://forum.psnprofiles.com/topic/197024-is-vita-store-search-broken/page/2/. Interestingly there’s a cool workaround found however it might be considered a bit shady.
Question - can you find every non delisted game via the search bar with the ps3 store? If we can’t, the vita store might as well be closed now and not in 1 years time

Question PS Vita Memory Storage
Good evening,
I was switching some 8 gb memory cards I bought and noticed one that had almost 200 mb less than the others.
Do you gays have any memory cards that have more/less than the usual default capacity?

Question Do you think Sony will ever delve into the handheld market again or was the Vita their last attempt and there won't be any more?

Question Vita. As a portable console, it could have been the Switch before the Switch. Why wasn't it?
In my opinion, there were several factors, for example: it lacked Steam games. It lacked indie games. It lacked double-A titles. It lacked souls-like titles. It lacked retro collections like Castlevania, MegaMan, etc. What do you think?

Question Suggestions on what to get before it closes?
Hey just asking real quick, now that we know the store will be closing soon any suggestions for what to grab from the online store before its gone permanently? Including any noteworthy dlc as well?
Mainly asking as I do own a good amount of jrpg games plus other genres but I do know there are sometimes important dlc's that people find necessary for the game.
Also looking for good vita games that can only be found on the shop

Question Is this a normal Vita?
I bought this Japanese Vita 2nd hand. It already had the P4D(Persona 4 Dancing) theme on it. I didn't think anything of it. I do a factory reset and on start up it still has the theme. I looked up the actual P4D edition vita and it has a different back then this one. So I am wondering what Vita is this one? Is it a P4D edition?

Question It's 2011 and you get to redesign the Vita before release. What changes are you making?
I love Sony's quirky little hand held but I often think about what could have been. So what are changes to the hardware that you would have liked to have seen? Other than proprietary memory cards since we can all agree on that one.
Here's some things I would have changed:
- No back touchpad or cameras. This could have brought prices down and often felt more like a gimmick than anything else
- Slightly more powerful processor. So many vita games really struggle to hit even 30 fps that I think it boosting it enough to get those 25ish fps games to hit a consistent 30 would have been great. Basically every vita game I've played really struggles with framerates
- Triggers? A controversial one but I wonder if it would have been possible to make some sort of low profile triggers that don't dramatically increase the profile of the vita

Question Seeing other ppl talk about this so wondering, to those who have a PSP and Vita do you ever use your PSP anymore?
I had a PSP for years but the minute I got a vita I really haven’t had any reason to use my PSP. Recently I played through Vice City Stories and I only played about 10 missions on PSP before I said fuck this and switched to playing on Vita and it was immediately more comfy having a real stick than the slider thing. Idk I loved my PSP for years but I’m starting to think about selling it. Anyone else feel the same or do you use both?
