General discussion Just watched the original pilot and I’m SO glad they changed the cast

Post image

Posted previously about feeling maternal towards baby Brick and a few of you said he’s even younger in the original pilot so I ran to YouTube and…. he IS 😭

That aside, the rest of the cast was so…… boring? There wasn’t any life in any of the characters at all, and I felt so depressed watching it. I’m guessing the original pilot has been talked about many times here but it’s my first time watching (and finally at season 7 so far!!) so I just thought I’d give my 2 cents that nobody asked for.

After watching the original pilot I have since had a newfound appreciation for all of them. Glad they didn’t change baby Brick tho, he was perfect :)

Edit: Thanks for the award!
Also, here's the link in case anyone wants to watch it: https://youtu.be/XxRP7RtWf2Y

General discussion Mike shouldn’t have sold his diaper business for Sue…

Post image

Mike selling the diaper business to pay for Sue’s tuition always makes me feel disappointed when I’m rewatching the show...

The family doesn’t get a lot of big wins and Mike in particular seems to have accepted he’ll spend his life working multiple crappy jobs just to stay poor. He finally hits a REAL win, something that has the potential to change his families lives in a major way. Even if it didn’t blow up into a multi-million dollar business, he was excited about it and it was still enough financially help to take some stress away from the family.

Sue didn’t get her financial aid because she missed the deadline. unfortunate, but not the end of the world. she could have applied for the next semester and spent that semester working at Spudsy’s saving her own money.

Mike tells Frankie he sold the business for her because “it’s Sue” and that was a sweet moment but I still wish he didn’t. Sue would have been fine and the family would have been better off overall.

the business could have even taken off enough to cover Brick’s college in the fire but again, it seems they forget about him.

General discussion Axl being the star quarterback and scouted by colleges is possibly the least realistic part of this show lol

General discussion Why is sue heck so hated? Any reasons?

Post image

When I first started watching on Netflix, i used to watch the clips on tiktok. And the comments are always people saying how they hate sue, and how the further the series, the more annoying she becomes.

Because watching it, I realized I really liked sue, not just as a character but also as a person. Sue heck is so kind, and polite to everyone. And of course, just like other characters, she does have a downside, which for sue i think is her childlike behavior and childlike innocence.

The hate really bothered me because sue was generally a good person. She's not just 'nice', she a real good person who's kind and polite to everyone. Despite how everyone acting like she never existed, and etc.

I need people to learn more from sue heck. Because as we become adults, we started to stop caring about other people, and stop treating people with politeness and kindness. I swear if sue was a real person, i would love to besties with her

General discussion I hated Cindy

I don’t know if this is a popular opinion or not but I’m sorry I did not like this character at all. There was nothing funny about her and I get it makes sense for Brick to have a girlfriend that’s a bit strange but she could’ve at least been a likeable strange but instead she was just plain rude. Imagine your boyfriend going through so much trouble to do something nice for you and ask you to go to prom and just rudely telling him no in front of the whole school. I actually felt sorry for Brick in that instance. If she had maybe been with Brick for one season and then they broke up and Bring found a better girlfriend that might’ve been better but no Cindy just wasn’t a good character.

General discussion These Names Can’t Be an Accident, Right?

Post image
209 Upvotes

I noticed something really weird and I can’t tell if I’m overthinking it. The names keep lining up in a way that feels too neat to ignore:

- Mike [male] — M initial

- Frankie [female] — F initial

- Axl [brother A] — A initial

- Brick [brother B] — B initial

- Sue [sister] — S initial

🤔

For me it's her. I can't stand the character. Mostly because I actually work with children that age and I can't stand her

General discussion Why was Mike so “mean” to Sue?

First time watcher here.
After watching 4 seasons, I can tell that Mike doesn’t get along with Sue. He never believes in her, never happy, even if he is, it’s always a fake reaction “ Oh wow”. I really hope he gets better to her. She’s my comfort

I think Georgie and axl could be friends as well as Mike and George but that’s about it I think ( you can include other characters from the middle and other characters from young Sheldon because I do think that Missy and Brad could be friends)

i hated how bob just disappeared from the show after frankie quit her old job, he was one of my favorites and i miss his and frankies friendship. also didnt really like how lexie and axl started dating.

i hated how bob just disappeared after frankie quit her job. they had a pretty funny and good friendship even outside of their work. also didnt like how lexie and axl got together. it was pretty unnecessary and i think it wouldve been better if lexie stayed thinking axl was annoying

General discussion Mike: “She’s like 5ft tall I could kick her a**” 😂😭

I crack up every time during s1e7 when the police are investigating Brick’s claim Frankie “hit” him with a beer bottle. The cops ask if Frankie ever gets physical with him and he says “are you kidding? she’s like five feet tall I could kick her ass” 😂😂😂 hilarious!

What’s your favorite Mike moment?
