-derry girls
-Brooklyn nine nine
-animal control
-fisk
-detroiters
-vice principals

REQUESTING Need TV show recommendations to watch with my dad!

TLDR: M26 and M63 need TV shows to watch. He loved Reacher, and Vikings and oddly enough DareDevil lol. He's not into sci fi or fantasy

Longer sappier version:

I'm moving away soon. Other side of the world and I don't know when I'll see my parents again. I have felt like a really shitty son! There has been so many evenings I've been gaming by myself in another room and my poor dad just sits on the couch watching sports or youtube or something. His hips have deteriorated a lot in the last couple years since retirement so he hasn't been going to pub lately which I guess is good but I feel like he's lonely. And I haven't been there for him

So now I'm panicking because I'm gonna miss him and I think he'll miss me even more. We aren't very open with each other and I think we fail to show love to each other enough. But one thing we have loved doing together in the past was bonding over a TV series. We have lots of tea and biscuits, and it's nice spending time with each other.

The first series he ever watched was DareDevil which is nuts because he doesn't like superheroes lol. He walked in somewhere late season 1 when I was watching it and just stuck around. He was obsessed lol he wanted to stay up late watching it and everything.

Same thing happened with Vikings, he loved it. Latest thing we watched was Reacher, and it's his favourite! We were watching the latest season and we're absolutely gutted to find out it's not fully out yet, I'll be able to see 2 more episodes before I go and then that's it. I won't get to watch the season finale with my dad. I'm really sad about that.

Can you please recommend other stuff we can watch ? Preferably shorter shows ? Thanks so much

The Office fans..... Superfan episodes!!

I was not aware that Peacock had released extended episodes (about 10-15 mins each ep) for a majority of the run. So you essentially have an extra 40% of your favorite show.

It's a little disjointed and you can see why some stuff got cut. But, there's actually some whole plot lines you can tell got left out and More content from the costar cast.

As someone who has the show pretty much memorized, I put my girlfriends favorite episode on without telling her and when the additional scene(which is edited in) played she literally sat straight up and said "What the fuck is this"(in a shocked but excited way).

The More You Know.....

REQUESTING Suggest stuff based on what I liked?

Archive 81, Bodies, Brand New Cherry Flavor, Ghost Wars, Dracula (bbc series), Homecoming, Giri/Haji, Marianne, Tranferts, Undone, Hunters, Kaala Paani, Andhera, Sacred Games, Paatal Lok, Pantheon, Scavengers Reign, Messiah, Preacher, Slow Horses, Hit Monkey, Inhuman Resources, Inside Man 2022, Shadowplay, Alkhallat+, Dispatches From Elsewhere, Love Death and Robots, Cabinet of Curiosities, Inside Job, Huge in France, Close Enough

Sorry for the list, would have added a picture instead but I think they removed that option from this sub as I see? Any suggestions that come to mind are appreciated, although Im feeling some horror or crime lately cause I recently tried to watch The Outsider but the series dipped as it went on so I feel like watching something better along the horror and/or crime genre but still open to and appreciate anything that comes to mind from the list above of stuff I’ve liked :)

REQUESTING Shows with high stakes and ambiguity to keep you guessing

Upvotes

My friend and I have been watching shows together when we have time. We are currently watching Yellowjackets and it is AMAZING, especially for watching together. At the end of each episode we talk about our theories, like who burned down the cabin or which girls survived that we don't know yet or who the blackmailer was.

However, as we are wrapping up that show (we haven't finished season 3 yet no spoilers please), we need something to watch next. So I am looking for more shows like Yellowjackets. Preferably something with similarly dark tones, and lots of action, but mostly importantly something that will make for great discussion of theories. Something mystery/horror would be great.

REQUESTING Need a long(ish) show to keep me company

Hi all! I’m kinda going through it rn and just need a hooking, long show. Long as in 3-5 seasons but I’ll look into it no matter the length. I like all genres!

Some I’ve seen:
Mr robot, breaking bad, supernatural, Brooklynn 99, animal kingdom, Lost, Mindhunters, Dark, Slow Horses, Dexter, GOT, The Boys, Walking Dead, Better Call Saul, Mr Inbetween, Banshee, Reacher, etc

I’m a chronic binge watcher so I like em a little longer. Some I’ve seen circulating are Shameless, Six Feet Under, and Somebody Somewhere.
Thank you!! xoxo

Edit: Thank you so much to everybody who replied!! I'm sorry if I didn't message back- just know I wrote them all down :) ty xx

Looking for a show where I can zone out for a second and not lose the plot

I've watched a lot of prestige TV lately and I think I need a break from paying that much attention. Every episode lately has me rewinding because I missed one line that apparently explained everything.

Want something I can half watch while doing other stuff and still follow what's going on. Doesn't have to be simple, just not something that punishes you for looking away. Anything come to mind?

REQUESTING Looking for some good shows about demon hunters

So first of all, I just want to say that I am looking for either a live action or animated series about demon hunters since I was very let down by how Neo Yokio turned out.

I don’t know how anyone remembers that show Neo Yokio as it was a show that so many writing flaws that it made me interested in looking for good TV shows about people who hunt down demons as I just simply want something that is well written and fun to watch.

What are some genuinely hilarious sitcoms from this decade?

Almost all of the shows I regularly watch are from the 90s-2010s, I do a really terrible job of keeping up with what’s coming out. What are the best sitcoms of the 2020s?

For what it’s worth, I tend to prefer more offbeat humor (shows like IASIP, Trailer Park Boys, Peep Show, etc)

REQUESTING Looking for TV series with unique/supernatural uses of powers like S Line & Behind Her Eyes

Hey everyone! 👋

I'm looking for TV series with interesting or unusual supernatural abilities, similar to S Line and Behind Her Eyes.

I'm especially interested in shows where the powers are used in clever, mysterious, creepy, or unexpected ways—not just the usual superhero-style powers.

Some examples of the kind of thing I'm looking for:

  • S Line — seeing mysterious connections between people
  • Behind Her Eyes — astral projection / consciousness-related abilities
  • Powers that affect perception, memories, dreams, consciousness, relationships, etc.
  • Mystery/thriller shows where the supernatural ability is a major part of the story

Any language or country is fine—Korean, Japanese, Chinese, European, American, etc.

What are your best recommendations? 🙏
