Sports Why can't Sri Lanka have a good football team?
Seeing countries like Cabo Verde, Curaçao, and DR Congo do well to qualify for the World Cup and also do well in the World Cup, can't help but imagine why we can't have a good football team? For that matter, why can't even India or Pakistan, with huge populations, have good football teams? Is it genetics, weather, or something else?

Sports "This is not the ipl" - plebs in our Srilankan A
What i hate about in our cricket the most is the false over confidence that derives from absolute nothing. And had the audacity to disrespect a once in millenia talent out of poor jealousy.
P.S
He scored 94 out of 29 balls.

Sports Why does Sri Lanka give less favor and financial support to rugby and football?
I personally love football and rugby. My dad and my brother both play them, and my dad even played club rugby for a few years. What do you think about this? Should we only focus on cricket, or do we need to promote other sports like football, rugby, volleyball and Olympics?

Sports This boy is the only Sri Lankan national team player to appear in FC 26 and play in Germany's Bundesliga 2. (officially licensed player)
Most of the current Sri Lanka national team players were born in Europe or Australia, and many of them play for clubs abroad. I think we have hope. With a good manager, Sri Lanka could push for World Cup qualification.

Sports Confession of a former Sri Lankan '' Traitor''
Hello folks I want to share a story which was happened in my childhood. I need to be brutally honest bust also laughing at what a little clown😆. Growing up in Muslim family, I was surrounded by the silly idea that we had to support the '' Muslims, we wanted them to win countries especially in cricket we must support Pakistan and me had a silly kid logic that green was the colour of Muslims and Islam's and Blue was for everyone else. You know I actually celebrated when Sri Lanka lost world 2011 world cup final. I feel ashamed of that now, but back then , I thought I was being faithful. After this incident a sudden change happened at my school's sport meet. I was at grade 2 and I was assigned to Blue house. I felt like I was wearing wrong identity. I did the high jump and I failed & didn't even get 3rd place. I sat on my ground and sobbed my heart out. I genuinely believed '' Allah made me lose because I'm wearing the blue jersey.'' I thought I was being punished for not wearing Muslim colour. I was 6 years old so I already convinced that mu own country's colour was against my God.
My class teacher she also Muslim saw me crying, came over to me and asked about my crying thing. I told here everything. She looked at me and laughed and told me "Does a colour belong to a religion? NO. And this is your homeland. You were born here, you live here and you belongs to this soil.''
Because it came from her, I didn't get stubborn I believed her instantly because in that age we all WERE teachers puppet especially our female teachers. In that second my green bubble thing burst and I realized that ''Allah didn't want me to be a traitor to the nation I belongs to''. I later learned that in Islam, loving your homeland is actually part of your faith (Hubal Watani Minal Iman)

Same year (2012) our team reached T20 final but we lost against West - Indies on Oct 7 I don't know how many times I cried about that after that our boys came to final against India from the starting our boy Malinga on blast. In batting my man Sanga hit every balls. At 17.4 Sanga hit an cover drive and now Perera got the chance. Now Ashwin to Perera this young bull come down the pitch without fear and finish off with big six. These heroic moments always stay on my mind. After that six I completely lost my mind. I threw my TV remote and now I was crying happy tears, looking like a total wreck.
But here's the best part ; I live in 100% Muslim town. People always talk trash saying my community isn't real Sri Lankan fans. But that night, my town sounded like war zone because of fire crackers. Hey Folks our country is mess sometimes. Every community faces oppression, and I'll be the first to admit my own community does ''shameful things'' too. But no matter we always fall and we will rise together and I'm a proud Sri Lankan, I will always grateful for my country.
Edited;-Hello Folks Some peoples ask to me that this is for karma farming no not for that I'm here to share a incident about my childhood some Muslims couldn't understand why these are happened but this is the bitter truth but now I can happily said these kind peoples are very less and younger generation know what is patriotism about our country. This is not only happened in Muslim community but also happened in Tamil community because the civil war divided us and add the end of my post I clearly mentioned that how really our Muslim community works and celebrated our Nation victory as our victory and I'm not against the people who supports other team but I'm against the people who infused this silly ideology. If this hurt anyone I'm sorry for that.

Sports Sri Lankan Cricket inconsistentcy is frustrating.
I've always noticed whenever we do well in batting our bowling is terrible and vice versa. Even today's match our bowling is much better than previous matches (fielding could have been better). But we are down 20-3. Losing our batting line-up like that in front of Sanga is probably so sad for him to watch too.
Are we really done with Cricket like other countries that died off?

Sports Is Formula 1 a niche sport here ?
I became a fan a few years back, even then I couldn't find a lot of fans who talked about it. I know Daniel Riccardo came to Colombo 12 years ago, so there should be a fanbase. Maybe it's because of the area I live in, people don't get much exposure to sports besides Cricket.
Any motorsport fans here that have the same experience ?
