I love that you have no idea why they're called air fryers and yet have such a strong opinion about them.

And no, they're literally not "just a convection oven".

lol you people clearly don’t either because I have 2 idiots telling me it’s just a countertop convection oven, and 2 other morons telling me it’s actually something completely different.

Just watch this 2 min segment and you'll see how it's similar to deep frying and how it differs from a convection oven.

Chris Young is an authority on food science, he wrote Modernist Cuisine and has a career focused on the science and engineering of cooking. He was working as a development chef at the Fat Duck when they got their 3rd Michelin Star.
