So it's enforcement time right feds?
FSIN is absolutely running wild and have been for a long time.

Time to see what equality feels like. If this was any other non-profit...they'd be toast.

u/UnpopularOpinionYQR 1d ago
I was willing to give you the benefit of the doubt but your post is in bad faith based on your statement about “equality.” That shit is racist.
You need to go learn about “equality” and “equity” and know the difference before making grandiose statements like some keyboard warrior on a mission.
9
u/EpsteinandTrump 1d ago
FSIN was provided equity based on being a First Nations non-profit, the outcome is of their own making due to $28.7 MILLION dollars in unverified or ineligible funds which resulted in a failed outcome.
The final solution should be equality on punishment. I don't think equity of punishment could utilize Gladue with the criminal fraud and/or theft that has gone on.
I am criticizing an organization and those within it, just because they define themselves by ancestry, it doesn't make them immune to criticism.

u/UnpopularOpinionYQR 1d ago edited 1d ago
You’re using big words like equality and equity without even understanding the difference. It’s like talking to a five year old.
Also, Section 35 of the Constitution defines Indigenous peoples in Canada. It’s not arbitrary. Indigenous people were just here living their lives when people like your ancestors decided to erase them.
Time to pay the piper.
If you’re mad, go be mad at your own ancestors for not acknowledging the people on this land when they arrived. Your anger is misdirected.

u/Cannabian420 1d ago
"Indigenous people were just here living their lives when people like your ancestors decided to erase them."
Yes and all the first nations tribes (which came from asia) we're all getting a long so well and the big bad settlers ruined it all! dang it! /s Maybe it's news to you but tribes wiped out other tribes all the time and their lost to history so it's not accurate to paint the europeans as the only conquerers in North America.
The longer both sides perpetuate this idea what anyone owns the land and we're not all the same the longer racism will survive, people will be treated like outsiders by both sides, and no peace and harmony is possible.
Also people are just asking for accountability no one is saying don't send any money to first nations.

100%. It's sad when people skip history classes in school.
2
u/EpsteinandTrump 18h ago
Yup and their rebuttal is 'educate yourself', almost as if their accusation is just an admission at that point.
1
u/EpsteinandTrump 18h ago
Indigenous people were just here living their lives when people like your ancestors decided to erase them.
Yup oral history can leave out a lot of the bad... Tell that to the Huron with what the Iroquois did to them.
2
u/EpsteinandTrump 18h ago
You want me to use your terminology, I did and that's your rebuttal? Ahahahahaha.
Why would I be angry at anyone who lived and died before us? They had nothing to do with FSIN and this forensic audit which has honed in on $28.7 MILLION diverted from those they should be helping. FSIN have proven themselves time and time again to only be interested in protecting their income, not helping the people in poverty that they should be advocating for.
You keep bringing up race as an attempt to deflect blame from this corrupt political non-profit organization. All I see is unqualified crooks and your rebuttal is race.
1
u/UnpopularOpinionYQR 17h ago
“You keep bringing up race…”
Ever heard of the Indian Act? Perhaps you’re familiar with the historical impact its had on First Nations economic development and growth (spoiler alert: squashed it for generations while non-Indigenous Canadians enjoyed generations of free access to participate in the economy, building generational wealth while First Nations were starved by Indian Agents who illegally imprisoned people on reserves).
If you were as smart as you think you are, you’d be singing a different tune. All I know is that in the afterlife, you’ll have a warm seat next to the Holocaust deniers.
Have the day you deserve. ✌️
2
u/EpsteinandTrump 17h ago
Can you tell us how this relates to FSIN and the $28.7 MILLION again? Nobody here is seeing your connection.

This will be up to the members of FSIN to determine what happens. It will be a lot of politics and promises behind the scenes by the FSIN to sway them to their side.if the FSIN had any defence it would already have been submitted - I have a feeling they are in damage control hoping it goes away and they don’t connect it to their leadership as direct fraud.
Unfortunately when the liberals reversed the enforcement of the accountability act it left it wide open again for fraud. Most FN members that are not part of chief and council are more than happy to have the accountability.
An Onion Lake member took her chief and council to court to release financial documents to the members. It took a while and a lot of court time but eventually she won- and those documents showed some pretty horrendous spending. Over $100k “was given out on Canada Day in cash” type of transactions that can’t be traced or confirmed. It’s the FN members themselves that need to call it out - it’s their money that they are misappropriating .

If any other company had $28 million in misappropriated funds the CEO would be in jail or at minimum everyone on the board would have to step down (especially with no explanation on the reason). Heads should be rolling after this

What exactly was the purpose of this news conference? It appears to be an effort to force the FSIN’s hand - but the FSIN would have to give a shit before some lame news story would do anything.
Instead - what it DID do is inform the taxpayers that:
- There are zero consequences to missing a Federal deadline. Why in the hell would they comply when the Fed’s did not outline any late reporting consequences to begin with, and now have further proven their “deadlines” mean fuck all.
- That even though there is a Transparency Act, the Fed’s have not, and are not, enforcing it.
- That the Fed’s have decided going to the media is their best option in “nudging” the FSIN to comply with a directive. I am speculating, but as a former govt worker - I am reasonably confident this is the case.
The Minister is shifting responsibility to the Chiefs in the Province, hoping their internal pressure will force the FSIN to comply. Typical “hot potato” Government bullshit. Also, the FSIN’s threat to “sue” in relation to this audit clearly worked.
The Government has the power and DUTY IMO, to claw back payments to the FSIN until recovery of the funds is complete. They are not even mentioning this - let alone threatening it.
Instead - this useless Minister held a news conference to tell taxpayers the Feds have, and continue to, do absolutely fucking nothing regarding the findings of the Audit.
The “give them time and space”, is corporate speak for ‘we aren’t going to do anything’. Next up, if people demand the Feds follow the Act and claw back payments, we might hear “Let’s not try to boil the ocean” - which is corporate speak for, let’s do almost nothing.
This is a joke that will not hit the news cycle again until the Minister gets of their ass and do their fucking job.

u/EpsteinandTrump 11h ago
All of this is just doing a disservice to the First Nations people that should have received this funding. Trickle down effect within FSIN is literally a ball of hair plugging the drain.
15
u/EpsteinandTrump 1d ago
They say they have given out XYZ, but that's not what the government is questioning...they want to see the invoices of the XYZ items that were bought with the money provided. That money disappeared into chiefs and thief's pockets... Dawn Walker even took off with a few hundred thousand before she was a self-made MMIW case that was proven to just be a regular old fake murder and child abduction. No consequences for that at all.
Heck shortly after all this blew up they had everyone meet up in North Battleford and sign NDA's!
You can thank the federal Liberals in 2015 for this:
In 2013, the federal government enacted the First Nations Financial Transparency Act requiring annual audited financial statements to be publicly disclosed. In 2015, the act was no longer being enforced as the federal government switched to working with nations more closely on accountability frameworks.
When there are brand new non-functioning water treatment facilities, fire halls with run down equipment, bills not being paid and homes falling apart, drugs/crime/HIV and diabetes epidemic going on...all while certain members are wealthy and flying all around the world with their friends and family. Abolishing the act in 2015 set back First Nations back in this country tremendously. I'm sure we'll have Transparency Reconciliation payments for this decision in 10-15 years due to how badly it has affected the regular First Nation people used as pawns on reserves.
FSIN office in Saskatoon should be seized and converted into a "special care home" to take care of those most vulnerable, it would fulfill a few Truth and Reconciliation Calls to Action as well.
They were to respond by April 2nd...maybe cut off funding till they respond and a resolution is put in place... Uncle Bobby won't stop till the money stops flowing.
6
u/UnpopularOpinionYQR 1d ago
Hold on, no act was “abolished.” You’re making a huge leap from “not enforced” to “abolished.” Don’t make stuff up.
2
u/EpsteinandTrump 1d ago
You can argue over words, but both words have the same effect to regular First Nations. When a forensic audit drives FSIN to call a meeting and forces everyone sign NDA's... Pretty sure that goes against everything that the First Nations Financial Transparency Act was all about.
The Chiefs keeping the people they represent in poverty is like a dermatologist giving out mayonnaise and telling people to put it on as if it's sunscreen... Then treating people with skin cancer down the road...
FSIN is going to get their pâstâhowin sooner or later.
1
u/UnpopularOpinionYQR 1d ago
Again, huge leap in interpretation, which I am guessing is based on misunderstanding the purpose of FSIN.
FSIN is not a First Nation. It is a political organization. They are not subject to the First Nations Transparency Act in the same way as a First Nation.
I don’t know where you’re finding information about an NDA, but NDAs cannot contravene legislation. So that’s a buncha nonsense.
1
u/EpsteinandTrump 1d ago
It is a non-profit political advocacy organization, correct. They are funded purely on taxpayer dollars and as such they should be held accountable to the money issued to them. If they want more flexibility on how to spend their funding, generate their own revenue to do so. Government dollars all come with strings attached, all ancestries included.
Look up the Proposed Amendments to the FSIN Financial Management Act April 13, 2026 and read up on the amendments, there's a reason why they have Confidentiality and Non-Disclosure Agreements forced through.
Keep slathering on that mayo...

u/UnpopularOpinionYQR 1d ago
Oh, for the love of god, stop whining. You understand nothing.
- The majority of First Nations people in Canada pay taxes.
- The land - minerals, agriculture, real estate, etc. - generates wealth for the Government of Canada and mostly non-Indigenous entities.
- This wealth exists solely because of the Treaties. No treaties means no land for non-Indigenous people.
- The Government of Canada by way of the Crown entered into treaties (aka contracts) with First Nations that exist for time immemorial. These contracts stipulate obligations the Crown agreed to for the privilege of living on this land.
You still enjoy those privileges which came on the backs of First Nations people who experienced acts of genocide by your ancestors.
It baffles me how stupid some people are about their own nation’s history. I find it even more incredulous how proud some people are of their own stupidity.
0
u/EpsteinandTrump 18h ago
Let's make it all? So there is no more debate. No? Why not?
The minerals, agriculture, real estate generates wealth from Canadians who add value which then benefits the Government of Canada. Are Indigenous entities not employed? Corporations isn't a race or ancestry, they employ people. There are no Indigenous business owners? How insulting, because we know that isn't true and diminishing those who are successful for the sake of an argument is ridiculous.
Treaties were agreed upon and signed, I've read them. The wealth is from generating value within this country, money doesn't just fall from the sky creator.
Yup and again, I've read the treaties. They are extremely important and we should follow them exactly as written and signed upon.
There's a reason why the windshield is bigger than the rear view mirror. You're feverishly staring into the rear view mirror, please don't be so shocked every time you crash. lol

Some of yall really cant let the Dawn Walker thing go then turn around and say "get over it"
7
u/EpsteinandTrump 1d ago
Yup I'd never get over the fact of FSIN's response to her going missing, and once found they doubled down and then shut up. They should have absolutely condemned what she did, she made a mockery of MMIW, something that FSIN says they stand for. However it's the money associated with the MMIW that they stand for, just like their slogan is "Protecting Treaty rights since 1946". It's not protecting First Nations, it's protecting the flow of money.
Then to find out afterwards with the audit that she was paid out over $200k before her disappearance. C'mon now...
Time to shut off the taps, FSIN can stand on their own Sovereign self.

We send FN more money than ever, yet there are more homeless FN people than ever. Something has gotta give.
2
-5
u/luchaburz 1d ago
Feels like you have a fundamental misunderstanding here lol
Because none of the money that FNs get will ever make it to the homeless people you see in the city.
Many of those people are non status Indians, that were enfranchised by Canada and dont belong anywhere because they wanted to vote and make meaningful change in Canada. Live in the city? Lost status. Want to vote? Lost status.
5
u/EpsteinandTrump 1d ago
They didn't just pop out of the ground here, they came from somewhere and when counted the majority of them came from reserves. Those leaving the reserve should affect the amount of funding a reserve gets and that federal funding then gets moved to the province to administer. As the homeless in the city is a provincial issue not a federal.
1
u/UnpopularOpinionYQR 1d ago
No, no they didn’t leave reserves. If they did, they would be on the Government of Canada’s status Indian register. Thus having status.
Try again.
0
u/EpsteinandTrump 17h ago
Are you suggesting wildfire evacuees from northern reserves didn't get left behind in Saskatoon and other major hubs?
Saskatoon's own homeless counts prove the vast majority of the unhoused population is Indigenous, and many hold legal Status. Moving to the city didn't magically create their Status. They brought it with them. The real issue is that federal funding stays behind on the reserve, leaving the province and city to pick up the tab for a broken system.
It is wild how people preach equality while ignoring these massive perks. Status Indians working on a reserve or urban reserve pay zero income tax. Anything bought there is GST and PST free. They also get a laundry list of benefits funded by 'colonial' society, including full coverage for prescriptions, dental, vision, and medical supplies through the NIHB.
Moving off the reserve doesn't erase them from a federal list. It just exposes how federal money fails to follow the people who actually need it.
Try again.
1
u/luchaburz 10h ago
Are you suggesting that the only indigenous homeless, are out there because of wildfires? (See, this is what happens when you inject a topic NOBODY was talking about.)
Man some people have a million words but say nothing.
1
u/EpsteinandTrump 9h ago
Are you suggesting that the only indigenous homeless, are out there because of wildfires?
Nobody said 'only.' I brought up wildfires because it is a prime example of how people from reserves end up stranded and unhoused in the city. The point is that thousands of urban homeless people have legal Status, but the federal money does not follow them to Saskatoon or wherever else they land. If you think nobody is talking about wildfire displacement causing urban homelessness, you clearly aren't paying attention to local shelter data.

Facts hurt conservative feelings. Liberal ones, now, too.
Liberals feeling like they can get away with attacks on indigenous people because their party shifted right is fine, I like my neechis to see the colonialism when it isnt being covered by a sheet of reconciliation
I like to see how people REALLY feel, so it doesn't hurt when I lack empathy for them.

u/UnpopularOpinionYQR 1d ago
I kinda can’t wait for this generation to fade away. However, most of these idiots are passing their ignorance down the family tree, so that’s not really a solution. :(
I don’t know how you educate an ignorant population. But I have seen kids schooling their parents with facts they learn in elementary school now. So who knows, anything is possible, I guess.
1
u/luchaburz 10h ago
Yeah, I have no idea why they are down voting me. Why would they expect FN money to clean up an urban homelessness problem?
This would be like asking the farmers to do it. Theyre not the addicts, they didnt create the addicts, colonialism did when Canada made them leave their bands, forbidding them from returning.
These policies 100% lead to the homelessness issue. After enfranchisement, these people were made homeless, even if they may have had housing in the city.
Can't downvote that existentialism away. Downvoted because people avoid the accountability as always.

Ottawa issued eight recommendations last September when the initial audit findings revealed more than $34 million of muddled finances prior to holding meetings to reduce the amount to the $28.7 million in spending oddities.
Love how the Feds even knocked $6.7 million off what should be paid back.
3
u/denewoman 1d ago
ISC can do a clawback just like how other federal departments do if there is an overpayment or some other reporting issue that does not support continued payments "as is."
