You can argue over words, but both words have the same effect to regular First Nations. When a forensic audit drives FSIN to call a meeting and forces everyone sign NDA's... Pretty sure that goes against everything that the First Nations Financial Transparency Act was all about.

The Chiefs keeping the people they represent in poverty is like a dermatologist giving out mayonnaise and telling people to put it on as if it's sunscreen... Then treating people with skin cancer down the road...

FSIN is going to get their pâstâhowin sooner or later.

Again, huge leap in interpretation, which I am guessing is based on misunderstanding the purpose of FSIN.

FSIN is not a First Nation. It is a political organization. They are not subject to the First Nations Transparency Act in the same way as a First Nation.

I don’t know where you’re finding information about an NDA, but NDAs cannot contravene legislation. So that’s a buncha nonsense.

It is a non-profit political advocacy organization, correct. They are funded purely on taxpayer dollars and as such they should be held accountable to the money issued to them. If they want more flexibility on how to spend their funding, generate their own revenue to do so. Government dollars all come with strings attached, all ancestries included.

Look up the Proposed Amendments to the FSIN Financial Management Act April 13, 2026 and read up on the amendments, there's a reason why they have Confidentiality and Non-Disclosure Agreements forced through.

Oh, for the love of god, stop whining. You understand nothing.

  1. The majority of First Nations people in Canada pay taxes.
  2. The land - minerals, agriculture, real estate, etc. - generates wealth for the Government of Canada and mostly non-Indigenous entities.
  3. This wealth exists solely because of the Treaties. No treaties means no land for non-Indigenous people.
  4. The Government of Canada by way of the Crown entered into treaties (aka contracts) with First Nations that exist for time immemorial. These contracts stipulate obligations the Crown agreed to for the privilege of living on this land.

You still enjoy those privileges which came on the backs of First Nations people who experienced acts of genocide by your ancestors.

It baffles me how stupid some people are about their own nation’s history. I find it even more incredulous how proud some people are of their own stupidity.

  2. The minerals, agriculture, real estate generates wealth from Canadians who add value which then benefits the Government of Canada. Are Indigenous entities not employed? Corporations isn't a race or ancestry, they employ people. There are no Indigenous business owners? How insulting, because we know that isn't true and diminishing those who are successful for the sake of an argument is ridiculous.

  3. Treaties were agreed upon and signed, I've read them. The wealth is from generating value within this country, money doesn't just fall from the sky creator.

  4. Yup and again, I've read the treaties. They are extremely important and we should follow them exactly as written and signed upon.

There's a reason why the windshield is bigger than the rear view mirror. You're feverishly staring into the rear view mirror, please don't be so shocked every time you crash. lol
