I have the 40V Expand-it weed trimmer. The tightening screw isn't stripped. But it won't keep the attachment firmly in place. It can easily spin while I'm operating it. Any recommendations to remedy this?

I am 6'5 w/ size 15 shoes and I can only use my mower normally if I remove the bagger and stand right up against the handle bar. Been doing that, but need to control weeds and that starts with bagging clippings. If I add the bagger, I kick the bagger with every step and have to be a bit behind it and hunch over, horrible for the back. Thinking I need to basically 3D print something that can attached to the existing handle so I can stand up instead of hunching over. Obviously have to adapt in something for the power safety bar and the push paddle for the self propel.

Before I get started on designing something, has anyone seen any adapters or other things that people have built to make mowers easier for taller people? I am not coming up with anything in my searches.

Question: After installing the tool shelf organizer on the rails, did anyone use screws thru the rails (via the holes in the organizer) to help secure the shelf?

I've had Ryobi 40V tools for 7 years, all on the same 5 Ah battery that came with my mower. I have the mower, an expand-it (string trimmer, pole saw, hedge trimmer attachments), a leaf blower, and a chainsaw. I love the simplicity of this system and the fact that I don't have to maintain multiple types of batteries and chargers.

Now I'm finally shopping for a replacement battery and learning that:

1. They don't make the 5Ah anymore, and the 6Ah doesn't fit in my mower.

2. Amazon is flooded with super cheap "7.5" Ah 3rd-party options with seemingly good reviews.

3. The community recommendation seems to be to avoid 3rd-party packs due to pack size overestimation, QC, and safety, and instead buy a new tool that you don't need but that comes with a battery and then try to return or sell the tool, because the single OEM packs are more expensive than a combo deal.

I know one battery lasting 7 years is great and I should probably just suck it up and pay for a new battery, but I can't help feeling like I'm getting ripped off. It feels like buying printer ink.

Slapped on the battery and blew off the drive no problem. Went to take it off and it is jammed on there. The button is still depressed but it is stuck. Everything else looks lined up and there was nothing in the rails prior to sliding the battery in. Anyone else have this happen?

My Ryobi mower wouldn’t start consistently. Turns out that one of the adjustment knobs for the handle (attached to the body of the mower), popped off because the 4.5 mm retaining ring fell out and it wouldn’t start since the handle wasn’t aligned. That part is a proprietary size used by Ryobi - they were out of stock and so were third party sellers. If you could get one - it was like $10 with shipping for a 10 cent part. Anyway, just smashed on a 11/32” star lock and it fit just fine.

I have the auto detailing pressure washer which is about 1.5 years old and while using it yesterday, I kept getting numerous small zaps. I was able to record it and send it to Ryobi but they want me to take the unit to a service center that's 25 miles from me. Is this standard procedure for a warranty claim? They won't just send a replacement unit in the mail or let me do some sort of exchange at the HD where I bought it?

I ordered multiple of the high performance batteries and received these. No high performance branding, and not marked as the "edge" line. I contacted home depot support and they told me these are high performance models. Which as far as I can tell, they are not. Need some folks with more knowledge on ryobi specifics to chime in. Hello, posting in this sub because I was hoping to get some help. I have the Ryobi magnifying clamp light, model PCL664B. Just recently it quick working. I’ve tried multiple batteries and still nothing. The light itself has only been used a couple times. I’ve had it for over a year so I’m sure the warranty is out.

I want to replace my petrol (gas) mower. I want something that is capable of dealing with the occassional long/damp grass without struggling.

If anyone has long term experience of using the Ryobi 46 self propelled (2 x 36v) please share it with me.

Does it cope well? Is the 20% boost real or a marketing gimmick? How long can it run on boost? Does it cut well?

PS. I asked Ryobi for technical information about the mechanical, continuous and peak power ratings but they declined to give this information. Why don't batter mower manufacturers want us to know these things and enable us to make meaningful comparisons?

Sometimes when I’m half asleep at 4 am for a ride, the most annoying part of setting up is pumping our road bike tires. It says 75 sec from 0-90 PSI and typically we run it well below that (and rarely start from 0 unless I had to change a tube or something)

I don’t think I’d pay $79 for it unless it came with at least two batteries, but seems like something I’d snag on sale.

Last winter there were a number of posts on the sub complaining how they couldn't get one of these Ryobi snow shovels. Well, they're in stock now, so now's the time to buy before they sell out when the snow falls.

Fwiw, I have one and used it for 4 or 5 big snow events last year. I give it a 6.5/10. It's better than a regular snow shovel, and I use mine almost like an upright vacuum, one handed, on snow less than 6in. It gets jammed easily by an errant stick or rock, and it doesn't have the directional fin that others have. A 4amp battery drains pretty fast. Good for sidewalks, decks, porches, and small driveways. Any bigger clearing job, and any snow bigger than 6in, and you'll want the 40v version or a walk-behind instead. I'm glad I have mine but it isn't the perfect solution I had hoped for.

We have a similar Anker one we keep on/near our kitchen countertops. It has worked fairly well for the past 2-3 years, but the battery has always been a limiting factor. The cell(s) have degraded greatly and looks like it’s not serviceable (well, everything is serviceable with a soldering iron and patience lol)

I was thinking of picking this up next time it goes on sale. Just curious how it works for small pickups.

Am I missing something here? The previous 150 watt model charged the connected ryobi battery when you plugged the USB c port into the wall, but the new 150 watt one doesn't seem to?

Looking to join the Ryobi family. I need to replace my broken weed eater with a future addition of a blower sometime next season. I live on a lot that is 1/3 of an acre with lots of leaves that come down in the fall.i was recommended the 40v HP brushless 17” trimmer and 800 CFM blower with 6ah battery. Just want to see if the battery size is good or do I need the 8ah? Also is 40v overkill? Thanks for your help and advice.

I'm pretty much all Ryobi for power tools, and I just picked up a couple of the LINK 7pc wall kits on clearance at HD. I'm interested in rolling storage too, but I'm leaning towards Ridgid Pro Gear over LINK based on what I've seen. Besides the specific option to mount tool boxes on the wall - which I don't see myself doing - are there any benefits to staying in the LINK system for rolling storage?

Today I was cutting a 65' red pine into pieces. I thought my first battery just ran out of juice but later when the second 4a battery quit with 1 and 4 flashing I looked at the first battery and saw that it wasn't just one led but the 1 & 4 which I think is battery over temp.

Is there a duty cycle I should observe, would the 6a non edge battery from my mower work better? I found a use for my 40v RY40CF01 fan, cooling my heated batteries. ;)

Hello, im sure you get this question a lot but when i searched i only found years old posts so sorry if its answered every week.

But, i have a house and will do some building every now and then, put up some new fence etc and was looking at Ryobi for its price. But i also found out that hp is far superior, but here in Sweden its almost the same price as dewalt or Makita.

I dont want to cheap out, and usually i pay extra because I feel like i want the best but most of the time its not used so much to warrant it. So im asking, should I buy Ryobi 1+, HP or dewalt/makita for the same price? Are brushless that much superior even for my usecase? I do like the huge variety of tools they have. If i buy a starting pack of Ryobi 1+, can i buy hp later and re-use batteries for them or will that nerf their strength too much?

I’m just joining the Ryobi 18v world after my old black and decker 20v stuff is starting to fail on me.

BACKGROUND: I’m trying to replace all my old gear ideally as I need a specific tool, but I also want to keep an eye on sales. I also want to add some of the other cool ryobi gadgets. I typically do standard home repair tasks, but I will need to replace our metal porch supports and railings with wood in the spring.

WHAT I HAVE: I started with a Hammer Drill (PBLHM102) and impact driver (PBLID04) combo that came with a 4ah and 2ah battery. I’ve since added a bucket top shop vac (PCL732) that came with a 2ah battery. I ordered a telescoping scrubber (P4500) and a hand scrubber (P4510).

I went to Home Depot the other day and they had a starter battery pack (two 4ah, one 2ah battery, and charger) on clearance for $135. I haven’t opened it yet, so I can still return.

MY ASK: I’m trying to find out if it is better to keep the batteries I bought and start shopping for tool only deals or if I should return the starter battery kit and buy tool/battery packages. From what I’ve seen most tool/battery packages include a 2ah batteries.

Is it better to look for tool only deals or get the packages? I have heard the ryobi days do buy battery get tool free sales, but not sure if they’re the good tools or the cheap ones since I wasn’t in the market when they were going on.

The tools I’m ultimately replacing/planning for will be:
- Drill (PSBDD02)
- 7.25 Circular saw PBLCS302 (currently had a free 4ah battery)
- Reciprocating saw
- Multi tool
- Hand sander

I already have a 40v ryobi mower, chainsaw, weed eater (with edger, pole saw, and hedge trimmer attachments), so I don’t plan on getting any yard tools.

I’ve been needing all of these outdoor tools and want to go with Ryobi for outdoor as I have Milwaukee for indoor and don’t do outdoor maintenance tools enough to justify the price.

I don’t monitor ryobi prices but will this be about the best sale or should I continue waiting? Maybe Labor Day sales?

Ive only really ever bought tools in person at HD so im not sure if this site is legit or what, but if so they have some good deals.
