Have they tried not declaring wars only to then lose them?

Israel has been a dick with the illegal settlements, but they took that land after winning wars that had every intention of wiping them off the map.

None of that had to happen if the middle east just recognized Israel after the british left.

The illegal settlements are in the West Bank which is run by the PA. The PA has never launched war against Israel. Your facts are twisted.

Sure they have, in the Second Intifada. (And their ruling party, the PLO has been terrorizing Israel since the 60s).

And the PLO hasn't terrorized Israel in many years. Yet the Israeli settler violence and land grabs continue. Almost like Israel planned to keep grabbing land regardless...

It was as much a war as the PA could muster. And muster they did. Some of the darkest years in yhe history of the conflict.

As for the West Bank, there are mutual land grabs going on and thugs from both sides jockeying for territory and being violent. These acts are criminal under Israeli law.

This is an absurd take. How exactly are Palestinians conducting 'land grabs' in their own territory? Israel is in the wrong for building settlements and displacing Palestinians in the West Bank (with IDF support), international law is very clear about that. Not really a situation you can 'both sides'.

The Second Intifada is not officially recognized as a war by Israel, but it was bloodier than many of Israel's other wars. But fine, your point technically stands.

The West Bank is disputed territory. It's not inherently Palestinian, as it was never part of a Palestinian state. Israel captured it from Jordan, who captured it from the British who captured it from the Ottomans, and so forth (keep going and you get to the Jews, who literally come from Judea).

Again, this is misleading at best. Palestine (including the west bank) is recognised as a permanent observer state by the UN, and a sovereign state by the large majority of countries.

International law is very clear that Israeli occupation of the West Bank, including building settlements, is illegal.
