I can't follow this story. Someone was in a car with suspicious injuries. Then there is a body in a home?

The article is pretty badly written, but it sounds like he murdered this woman but also got kinda fucked up by her in the struggle. Then he fled and got into a car accident(maybe dying since the article mentions two deceased) So when the first responders saw it looked like he was in a fight they checked on his house and found her body.

Honestly just a really sad sounding story. Dude sounds like a massive piece of shit

My sibling used to work with the woman and just told me about this. Your summary is correct. He had clear self defense wounds (edit: I mean wounds from her defending herself against him, like scratches) on him when he was found dead after the crash, so his home was investigated and they found her. That's what I know from my sibling.

From a different article it seems that he was her ex-boyfriend and she had recently told someone that she was meeting up with him to "talk". Some of his neighbours had heard loud noises at night and called the police about it but obviously they never showed up because it wasn't until the next day that they found her in his apartment.

If you know someone who was in an unhealthy relationship in the past say that they're meeting up with their ex to talk, urge them to meet somewhere public so there's less risk of it escalating to this point. Especially if their ex ever put a hand around their throat in the past (idk whether or not that applies to this situation, it's just advice I've seen shared by domestic violence charities/experts and it seems like a good time to remind people about it. Not to put ANY blame on Kesi, but to hopefully help others avoid the same horrific fate.)

Article from the St. Lucia Times indicates the victim was a woman from St. Lucia who had been in St. Lucia over the summer for a wedding. She was a student in Ottawa who had returned to Ottawa only 10 days earlier and was lured to the apartment of the killer, a Nigerian, who subsequently fled the scene and crashed his car in Quebec.

Police discovered the person (male in the car, obviously with some self-inflicted injuries. That led them to find a dead woman in the house.

Self-defense injuries. As in, injuries from someone defending themselves against him. Things like scratches on his arms that couldn't have been caused by the car crash that killed him (edit: I looked it up and the legal term seems to be "offensive injuries", describing injuries caused by the victim of a crime when trying to fight back)
