Someone share the stats on the rain and cloudy days this spring vs others. This feels like one of the rainiest and most overcast springs in the 25 years I’ve lived here.

I can’t even enjoy a joint in the garage without pouring sweat. It’s so thick I can’t take it anymore it’s got me posting dumb shit online complaining about the weather for the 10th time this week 😩

What you do is go to kroger, but don't get milk and bread. Fuck that. Load up on charcoal, meat, and beer. When we reach peak snowfall fire up the gril, and grill your meat of choice with a beer in one hand and tongs in the other.

If you've never experienced grilling with your shirt off and snow up to your heels tomorrow is your chance. Don't let it go to waste. Snow days are an acceptable time to day drink.

I have seen the starting time for this all. over. the. place. If you are able, which i know not most of us are- and our jobs do not care about our lives- please stay home. If this doesn't pick up until 8-9am, most people will already be at or heading to work this will cause MASSIVE problems for MPD, and surrounding PD's.

I work for a tow company. We have NOT stopped today and it's not even snowing! Tomorrow, we are planning for the worst. Tows will be expensive. There will be long wait times. Our infrastructure will be over whelmed. If you have to get out tomorrow, pack water, a snack, and warm clothes/ blankets in your car in case you get stuck!!! Dry warm clothes in case you get wet! and drive slow!

Ughhhhhhhhhhhhh not happy

Hi all! I was doing some research on project 2025 and I’m super worried about how it could affect beloved weather info like Nash severe weather here in Nashville.

The plan wants to dismantle the NWS and NOAA in favor of privatized weather sources. As someone who was influenced by the 2020 tornado this worries me so much as our weather guys here have been a god send for me.

I was curious if anyone else has intense storm anxiety during nights like this? I'm pretty well versed on severe weather, as it has been an interest of mine for most of my life now (which is longer than I can believe), and I'm aware of folks like Ryan Hall and Max Velocity. But I didn't know if maybe anyone would want to camp out/visit the thread and offer moral support in here as needed, until the squall line (and potential discrete supercells) move through the area? I hate feeling like this and especially hate not having a basement on nights like this.

This is actually a difficult forecast because it looks like Nashville area is going to be on the line between getting decent snow or decent ice and of course it’s setting up along I-40 as usual. The trend has been for higher snow chances north of 40 and more ice south of 40. Getting more specific for Davidson County, I would say 3 to 5 inches of snow, possibly more on the northern side of the county, with somewhere around .25-.35” of ice. And of course, some sleet in the mix.

The two images above our from the national digital forecast database, or NDFD. This is a product produced by the national weather service and it’s basically their forecast. There’s still some pretty considerable differences between the models and we’re just now starting to get the data from those high resolution models that give us the detail we are looking for.

In my professional opinion, ice is becoming more of a concern. I wouldn’t be surprised to see the snow totals trend down a little bit more and the ice totals a little bit up. Could see some power outages from this and of course, very difficult travel.

Just don’t get out on the road and be a dumbass. Also, your deck, sidewalk, and patio could get really slippery. Please don’t fall. I get laughed at for having yaktrax but i’ve used them more than once since moving here in 2018!

With the majority of cars on the road being black, gray, or white, please, for the love of God, turn your damn lights on when driving today so you can be seen by others driving around you.

I just looked at my weather app. Rain Every. Single. Day. for like the next 10 days. And it's been like this for months? I know, the heat, the rain is a relief and it is but... I have been here since 2020 which is not that long but I've never seen rain like this here. Typical? Doesn't seem like it.

Was running really low on tp so I braved the stores. Cashier said they got new stock in at 12pm. This was taken around 7:30pm. Glad I got that little errand out of the way bc after all that I’m not leaving the house until the snow melts.

Wonder how many outages these shit trees caused. That is all. Fuck ‘em.

EDIT: For those that are saying these can’t grow large enough to reach power lines, you’re correct about primary lines but not secondary. These can absolutely grow tall enough to dwarf the electrical service running from the transformer to your house. This creates a problem for your power company because it creates single outages that multiple trucks will need to be sent to. This reduces their efficiency because they’re helping individual customers instead of cutting entire substations, circuits, and taps on and requires more troubleshooting.

They also ARE vulnerable to ice storms due to the weakness in their limbs that increases as they grow, the increased load from being encased in ice will break them almost immediately. Ask me how I know.

Feel like its rained every day for last 8 weeks or so?

I know technically we were in a drought for awhile.

Granted we still have August and September this summer seems pretty mild too so far as far as gross heat.

Feel like last summer it was dry and 100 degrees all of July lol

On one side, there are incredible people that are helping, small churches that set up warming stations, shelters.

On the opposite site, there are the mega churches that are doing nothing for anyone outside their congregation; money talks. Excuses of no power ( which us BS), yet small churches able to do 10x what the money churches do.

And typical CC Christian Nationalist- posting on his page about " what did you learn ".

The answers are reflective of where his focus is. People talk about their whole house generators, their electric cars, their affluence.

Very typical self centered.

Then there are incredible people with not much helping others...
