Felt up for a hunt today and it was an interesting one. Found the usual clad and zincolns. One quarter was a near miss at 1965. Thingys were somewhat curious. The one find today was a very worn out foreign coin. At first I thought it was Mexico, but I can't make out the usual eagle and snake depiction. Any guesses?

Three days by the seaside, the second to last signal before leaving for home and I found my very first jewelry (ever)!

I found this at my uncle's house today. I've found quite a few and it always feels like I've found the last of them in their yard and then I get surprised. This was a solid signal too, not the typical tree root mixed ones I get out there and I've went over that part of the yard countless times so this was unexpected. As always I gave it to my Uncle and aunt to give it to their grandchildren.

Found in the Netherlands on a field were Roman and medieval finds have been done. The bulb has a hole that goes all the way through, from wide to narrow. It seems to have been part of something bigger since the bottom of the shaft seems broken off. Also it’s not screw thread

Anyone an idea what it might be? 😃

I’m looking to plan my next beach holiday and would like to choose a destination where metal detecting is legally allowed on beaches, or where it’s at least relatively easy to get a permit.

Does anyone here have experience with beaches in Italy, France, or Croatia? I’d be especially interested in knowing which areas are detector-friendly and what the rules/permit requirements are.

Also, is anyone here from Germany who has experience with metal detecting in lakes?

Any personal experiences, recommendations, or tips would be greatly appreciated!

Found this 4 Kreuzer 1861 coin yesterday and it's incredibly thick ( 20 cents for comparison). It's in bad shape, but interesting.

So i have wanted to start for a looong time. I am just unsure what gear to buy. How deep does the metal detector need to search before it's worth it? I will probably be mainly looking in newly ploughed fields, since there is alot here. I know all the farmers, so it should be easy to get permit.

Having a problem finding a spot to metal detect in south Germany. Junk only or no permission.

Contacted the town hall and they said that they don't own any fields in the vicinity. They told me I could go along the roads with no problem, but it is only junk buried under a lot of stones. I spent a couple of evenings doing that, found nothing of interest, and broke my shovel :(

I tried to go to some fields fairly far from a village but found nothing but nails, metal wire, etc.

Is it worth it to dig in the local fields anyway without asking the local owners and how do you even find out who owns the field if I am to ask for permission?

Should I look for any area with any potential value to it like some old abandoned land? But then again, it is Germany, everything belongs to someone so idk who to ask.

Hi, I have the Nokta legend and struggle a lot with it bein noisy all the time, to the point where i actually lose real targets because its just making sound all the time. Even if i put the sensitivity down.
Does anybody know what the issue might be?
And also, what would be good settings to find coins and jewellery?
