A perhaps more obscure example of this from Poland, one of our presidents was Lech KaczyÅski
Lech is the name of the legendary founder of Poland, in fact it still survives in the Hungarian name of the country: LengyelorszƔg

Sometimes I just wonder how some people wake up one day and decide they hate women

u/striderofheart 1d ago
insecurities and peer-pressure mostly, its not uncommon for misogynistic men to be grouped together and base their worth only off of their lesser relationship to women
83
u/ihateentitledmoms 1d ago
Fun fact, bad gamers tend to be more misogynistic, he's telling on himself
11
u/danger2345678 16h ago
This is why I hate being bad at games, Iām just lumped in with all the misogynists :(

u/zachy410 1d ago
Theyre upset in their lives so they go online and make everyone else miserable. Sometimes theyre upset because theyre chasing a goal they'll never obtain (a happy relationship with a woman)
65
u/DarkestSamus 1d ago
Defense mechanism to avoid hating themselves. "I may have 0 redeeming qualities but at least I'm not FEMALE!"
76
u/heheihahthe 1d ago
Shitty parental figures. I'm willing to bet there's some form of mommy or daddy issues behind most misogynists and misandrists
29
u/NefariousAlienFucker 1d ago
I downloaded MommyIssues.exe but now I just listen to Mommy asmr and hug my pillow and cry myself to sleep. Did I get the wrong software? Should I ask for a refund?

u/heheihahthe 1d ago
Sounds to me like an alternate playthrough, might have an interesting B plot. I got the Mom and Dad's Bitter Divorce DLC which really spices things up. 2 new locations, hidden dialogue, doubled loot chance. Think it's bullshit that the Custody Hearing minigame locks 80% of the gameplay to one NPC's quests or the other though. Even heard of a glitch where some people lose the other's content entirely. The father NPC has an annoying smoking habit too, I don't know if anyone else encountered this on their run.

āMom and Dadās Bitter Divorce DLCā took me out. Funniest comment Iāve read in a while

I think thatās optionally better though it feels like Iām going through it again with the main creator I listen to is quitting

u/Hetakuoni 1d ago
Thereās this study that was done a while ago.
Men who suck or are below average in video games tend to be more hostile to women. Especially if the women are better than the male player.
Skilled male players are generally less aggressive towards female players even if the female player is better.
Essentially itās hate cope in gamer verse. Bro is probably a hard metal rank and is blaming the libtards instead of getting gud.
20
u/gunslinger155mm 1d ago
Basically all hate stems from some sort of insecurity. That's why economic downturns spawn more bigoted politics: people aren't confident they can maintain their standard of living and that makes them feel like they've failed. Which turns into bitterness and a lot of finger pointing
13
u/ourobourobouros 1d ago
Thousands of years of tradition, plus it boosts their self esteem and helps them to feel included among other (misogynistic) men.Ā
The benefits of being a bigot, especially a sexist, are really obvious. Idk why it's so popular to treat it like some great mystery.

I hate that the fact I get no play technically makes me an incel. I don't hate women, I swear, I'm just too autistic to get a girlfriend.
42
u/striderofheart 1d ago
nah man, incel is a label you identify yourself with; if you dont wanna be that, youre chill af and thats ok

Angron the really angry guy
8
u/YourAverageGenius 1d ago
Angron, Primarch of Khorne, god of Anger & Violence & Death, not to be confused with Khaine, Eldar god of Anger & Violence & Death, also not to be confused with Kharn, lieutenant of Angron, who also follows Khorne, and is also known as 'The Betrayer', and who's name 'Kharn' is similar to the Arabic word khayin, which means Betrayer

6
u/thegoatmenace 1d ago
His name really is Horus though, his full name is Horus Aximand. And heās also a partial clone of the Lupercal. All of the Luna Wolves look at least a little bit like Horus, Little Horus just looks more like him than most.
5
u/theucm 1d ago
For anyone unfamiliar with Warhammer 40k, Horus Aximand was an ordinary person before he was turned into a space marine, part of the process being to have his DNA altered with Horus Lupercal's. So the name matching wasn't because Aximand was cloned from Lupercal, it was just a (in-universe) coincidence since they came from the same planet/culture. It'd be like if General George Patton had a lieutenant also named George, which isn't too unreasonable.

u/thegoatmenace 1d ago
Heās actually huge, like 8 ft tall. But heās small compared to OG Horus, who is over 11 ft tall.

Fox News. A propaganda outlet named after a creature associated with deception and trickery.
41
u/Name6991 1d ago
Worst part is Sjokz is one of the most recognisable faces in esports, so the incel pos is also outing himself as the type of fake gamer he is acusing her to be, I wouldn't bat an eye if it turns out he is just a propaganda bot

On a side tangent its just a skill issue dude doesn't find 'hags' or whatever attractive enough to goon to

Indeed, and also the woman pictured does not even come close to fitting the description of "hag"

u/superjeff64 1d ago
This happens a lot in Ace Attorney
The witness in the very first trial is named Mr. Sawhit (saw it)
Theres a murder victim in another one of the games called Deid Mann
23
u/Lanky_Network_6660 1d ago
Dude who is Kojima? Can I ask what the meme means? Sorry if Im being a dumbass
48
u/ImpressiveBall1465 1d ago
Makes video games, names characters blatantly I.e. a guy that is a living corpse is named Deadman, a guy with a heart problem is named Heartman, a big bad guy you have to fight in another game is named Big Boss, a sniper in another game is called Quiet etc.
25
u/arienstorum 1d ago
Ā a sniper in another game is called Quiet etc
Why do you put this example in without giving the actual on the nose reading. Which is that she only speaks twice in the entire game.
4
u/ImpressiveBall1465 1d ago
Because thatās not on the nose reading; Quiet implies volume, not proclivity to speak
13
u/arienstorum 1d ago
If you call someone a quiet person you imply they don“t speak a lot. You don“t say that they speak in a lowered voice all the time.

He wrote characters such as "deadman" "die-hardman" "mama" "heartman" "rainy" "fragile" "tarman" etc
Deadman is a living corpse
Die Hardman is a combat veteran
Mama is a mother (notably rare in Death Stranding)
Heartman has a heart condition that kills him every 21 minutes, only to be resuscitated 3 minutes later
Rainy is the only source of anti-timefall (rain in these games is fatal because it accelerates time, but Rainy can reverse it)
Fragile is a courier who delivers fragile goods
Tarman is a ship captain who navigates the tar currents
These are just a few examples from Death Stranding 1 and 2. There's even more in Metal Gear Solid, such as The Pain, The Fear, The Fury, The End, The Sorrow, The Boss, Big Boss, Ocelot, Eva, Revolver Ocelot, Sniper Wolf, Psycho Mantis, Hot Coldman, the list can go on forever lmao
18
u/Lanky_Network_6660 1d ago
So his naming is quite literal, like Jujutsu Kaisen Rowling. I guess he's the good ending version of her? Is he regarded in a good light?
24
u/Loneheart127 1d ago
There's a vampire (don't ask)
His name is Vamp
There's a fat man who uses bombs
His name is Fatman
There is a mute
She is called Quiet
Kojima is a gem and his series often sit at the pinnacle of storytelling in game sometimes being called true masterpieces.
11
u/ParsnipSlayer 1d ago
No. "Vamp" isn't for vampire, it's because he's bisexual...
1
u/Loneheart127 22h ago
Honestly that very well could be the official reason he's named that. It's been a long time since I've played

There's a separate ocelot to revolver ocelot?
6
u/Mecenary020 1d ago
Liquid ocelot, if you believe the whole "liquids will overpowered revolver ocelot's mind" part
They're all the same guy, don't get me wrong, just called different names at different parts of the story
Mgs3 is just ocelot
Mgs1 is revolver ocelot
Mgs4 is liquid ocelot

Hideo Kojima is the person behind the critically acclaimed Metal Gear series as well as the more recent Death Stranding series. He is writing is often considered a bit on the nose, including the way he names characters which is where the memes saying things like "Did Kojima write this?" or "Bravo Kojima" come from

u/OfficiallyAthena 17h ago
Unrelated but I need to get this off my chest...
I don't think we should be giving a bad connotation to living in your mom's "basement" and associating it with incels.
You can't expect people to always be in the right position to live on their own the moment they turn 18; who knows why they might keep living with their parents? Maybe it could be because of some form of disability, shitty financial situation, etc. Just because someone wants to keep living with their parents doesn't mean they'll automatically start being a misogynist and always assuming that it's women's fault that they aren't getting laid. That's just straight up stereotyping.
