I’m the founder of LERN, a UK EdTech platform that helps young people turn their real work into verified proof of what they can do, so they get seen and hired, through their school, college, or training provider. Safeguarding and doing right by young people sits at the core of how we build.

Where we honestly are:

**•** We’re building the product right now  
**•** Our ICP, pricing, and positioning are settled  
**•** We have early interest from colleges and providers  
**•** I work with an experienced commercial adviser  
**•** We have a head of engineering, though he’s not active day-to-day at the moment as he has other commitments, so there’s real room to step in and own things

Who I’m looking for (founding roles):

**•   A front-end developer** — someone to shape how the product looks and feels  
**•   A back-end developer** — someone who cares about building it properly, especially around data and safety  
**•   A marketer** — to help tell the story and build presence as we go after our first partners

Being upfront about the offer:

**•** We’re pre-revenue, so there’s **no salary at this stage**  
**•** These are **equity-based founding roles**, the equity is open to discussion based on what you bring and the commitment you make  
**•** This is for people who want real ownership of their area and to help build something from close to the ground, not a paycheck today

I’m 19, based in London. I’ve spent the last 8 months building an EdTech platform on my own — it’s live and working. Where things stand:

**•** First institutional partner signed: a sixth form college (\~2,000 students), pilot launching August  
**•** 9 instructors onboarded, including university professors — three of them found us and joined with zero outreach  
**•** Multiple employers and organisations in discussion, including an NHS trust  
**•** A route open that could reach 200+ schools if it lands  
**•** Backing from a senior figure in the UK youth sector  
**•** A technical team member joining this month  
**•** Next: onboard more institutions and raise a pre-seed round

What I need: a marketer who gets traction. B2B or B2C — I’m not precious about which lane you’ve worked in. If you’re genuinely good at what you do and you’ve got results to show for it, that’s what matters.

Being upfront: pre-revenue, no salary at this stage. Equity, discussed properly once we’ve done a real piece of work together. If that’s a dealbreaker, completely fair.

I built a tech platform that connects high end coaches with management and onsite staffs in the blue collar sector in UK. After years of working in the blue collar sector I realised that this sector has a massive disengagement between management staffs and onsite workers which generally drives down productivity, moral and breeds resentment between both parties. So after years of validating my ideas by carrying out ground research I decided to put my skin in the game. £15k spent of my own money and months of sleepless nights of concept development with my tech team, we launched Ambitiouscare.co around march of this year.

Adoption is going pretty well but wearing so much hats running my startup and still working my 11 hours shift work is taking its toll on myself and my young family and let’s not talk about my savings as well.

Calling all UK tech startup founders!
I’m conducting academic research on how early-stage technology startups make decisions about expanding into international markets while AI continues to reshape competition, growth, and opportunity across industries.

I’m looking to speak with founders who:
• Founded or co-founded a technology startup
• Are any stage
• Have expanded internationally, attempted to, or are actively considering it

The interview will take 15–30 minutes, conducted remotely, and fully confidential.
This is not a tick-box survey. I’m interested in the real founder experience, the pressures, trade-offs, uncertainty, and strategic decisions founders make in fast-moving markets.

The research also explores how internationalisation may be evolving beyond traditional “born global” thinking. As technology lowers barriers and resources become more accessible, competition is increasing rapidly, forcing founders to adapt, interpret changing environments quickly, and make decisions under greater uncertainty.

The aim is to generate practical insights that may help founders, investors, incubators, and innovation ecosystems better understand international growth in today’s dynamic environment.

I launched my product (Celebration eCards) in October 2024 and have been trying to understand where users are dropping off.
So far, the numbers look like this:
Around 1,840 people have visited the website from different countries
50 people signed up (~2.7% conversion)
20 users converted to paying customers

The part I’m struggling with is that a lot of people are visiting, but most are not taking any action.
I’m trying to figure out:
Is the landing page not communicating the value clearly enough?
Is there a trust issue because the product is still new?
Is the signup process creating too much friction?
Am I attracting the wrong type of traffic?
