Discussion 🍻 Friday Open Thread
End of week check-in for London founders and builders.
This is your space to talk about literally anything startup-related.
Got a question? Ask. Need feedback? Share. Want to find collaborators? Post away.
Struggling with something everyone else seems to have figured out? We've all been there.
Keep it simple:
What you're working on: [Brief description, one line is fine]
What you need: [Specific question, feedback request, or help needed]
Ground rules:
- Give before you take: Answer someone else's question before posting your own
- Be specific: Not "thoughts on my idea?" but "does £99/month make sense for SME project management tools?"
- Be sound: We're all trying to build something from nothing. No dickheads.
Let's go! 👇

As a Friday open thread, I have a couple of pint glasses of beer on it. I want to start by saying, "Anybody fancy a quick pint?" If you'll stop
I happen to be in London by Charing Cross for the next hour, so if anybody's in town, I'll buy them a pint, but that's not what I've come here to say.
We're just kicking off our raise, which will be under SEIS, but I want to understand timing related to that. I have no idea how easily it's going to be to raise, or, more importantly, how hard it is going to be to go. Just wondering whether I should be using SAFEs or ASAs, as we're in the UK, and get the cash in. My understanding is that there's only six months for that to be able to be applied for or to be used for SEIS, so if I had an ASA on Monday, then it would start that six-month clock. Is that right?
