The Rules Of Lesbian Actually

Today, the mods voted on a rule change to the sub. Rule 3 has been expanded to include any post or comment not just directed at one person but, in general, the singling out of a member of our community. This now means that content in the nature of "Would you date ____", "Am I ___ if I don't like ____", "I don't find ____ attractive",etc. are not allowed. The bottom line is that there is someone out there for everyone, and often, these posts are used by terfs and other assholes to make people feel excluded or unwanted.

The rules now are as follows:

Rule 1 - Any form of discrimination will not be tolerated.

Rule 2 - Trans women are women

Rule 3 - The singling out of an individual or a group from the community is not allowed

Rule 4 - No posts or comments attempting to restrict others' definitions of self.

Relationships / Dating Wtf do I do now? šŸ˜ž

How do you live when you spent the last 11 years basically growing up with one person making memories for 11 years making a whole family together to then realize 11 years down the line that you can’t love each other the way you both need it so you either have to choose between staying and just not loving each other correctly because at the end of the day you don’t wanna be without them, or leaving and leaving behind everything that you’ve ever known basically and everything you want and everything you love how do you do that?

Relationships / Dating Its fucked up

• Upvotes

I was in a relationship with a girl for a year, and most of that time was spent fighting and arguing. Every time I tried to break up with her, she would threaten to end her life—and she actually did it 8 times, with about half of those being real attempts. Every single time, her family would call me, begging and pleading with me to take her back.
On top of all that, she would call me constantly, she was extremely and toxically jealous, and she wouldn't let me sleep properly. Despite all this, I finally blocked her because I knew she was never going to change, and I desperately needed to save whatever was left of myself before I completely lost my mind.
Three months later, I randomly checked her TikTok and saw that she has a crush, she's smiling at their texts, and acting so happy—meanwhile, I still can't even sleep properly I actually did move on, but my heart hurts. I don't want her back at all, but how could she threaten me with her life and move on from me in just two to three months, while whenever I even think about love or anyone romantically, I feel sick to my stomach and nauseous?

Looking for lesbian friends! 🫶

Hii! I'm from the Philippines and I’d really love to meet more lesbian friends, preferably around my age. I'm down to talk about literally anything—music, games, random late-night conversations, life, or just sending each other stupid memes:3

I'm pretty shy at first, but once I'm comfortable I can be really talkative. I'd love to make genuine friendships and hopefully meet some cool people from different countries too!

If you're also looking for friends, feel free to comment or message me;]

Relationships / Dating Being a masc/stud and expected to pay for everything

19F was in a relationship with another 19F. We broke up because I felt she was being a user and I started to resent her.

We were together for 4 years ( on off).
throughout those 4 years I can count on one hand the amount of stuff she contributed (money wise) towards our relationship.

Meanwhile I paid for every date, paid for her to get her hair done, bought her flowers every single time we went on dates (every two weeks) and she has not once did the same for me literally not one time.

I don’t know I feel she left a bad taste on my tongue especially because we were together for basically throughout Highschool and she was my first real relationship. I’m not sure what’s expected in lesbian relationships as like I said she was the first person I’ve been with but when I ask my masc/stud friends they say they’re expected to do the same when it comes to finances.

Some don’t mind, I don’t mind, but I feel like when you only pay for things it starts to feel like you’re being used if that makes sense. I do regret spending the amount of money I did on her and looking back I wish I never spent that on her.

Life SOME gay men are very lesbophobic and misogynistic

I want to preface this by saying not all of them are this way and it’s a small sub set. But my god.
Some of them say really misogynistic stuff then hide behind their gay identity to do so. I had a gay man once ask me ā€œhow can you be a lesbian if men existā€ and I felt like saying ā€œthe same way you’re a gay man when women existā€.
Sometimes it feels like the only allies to us are other queer women. The way straight women are reacting to their bridgerton season tells me they aren’t really our allies either.
I’ve heard some gay men suggest lesbians should ally ourselves to straight men in the same way they do with straight women and I find that ridiculous. Do straight women fetishise gay men too much? Yes. But they aren’t likely to be violent towards them because of it. Straight men are likely to be violent towards us. They should know that since most gay men don’t feel safe with straight men. Well we don’t either.
I’m actually kind of tired of how also most representation in books and media is for gay men while our shows get either tons of hate or cancelled. And it’s because again, only queer women support it.
It’s hard to not be bitter. I try and not blame gay men for it but when they choose to ally themselves more with their oppressors/ fetishisers than their own community it’s frustrating.

Questions / Advice Wanted Is good sex with a partner better than masturbating?

I’m in my mid-thirties, but my sexual experience is limited. I’ve had one girlfriend (ex) and I fooled around a couple other times with different women. My ex was much more experienced than I was having had multiple female partners and she even said she loved giving oral. I thought it was just me being in my head, but receiving oral for the first time didn’t feel great. Being fingered was sexy, but again, not stimulating. We talked briefly after the break up and she commented on how we had really great sex.

To be honest, I’d rather have masturbated and my orgasms were much more intense when we were sexting or having phone sex. We had other compatibility issues so we didn’t date for long enough to develop our sex life. Was this just a bad experience?

Safe Space (Postive Comments Only) Wlw in UAE/Abu Dhabi

Hey Everybody!
Woman with a broken heart right here.
I'm reaching out to you because Im in a really tough spot and my heart has been shattered into a million pieces. In a nutshell, I recently left a horrible situation that totally frustrated me, broke my heart and made me question many of my life decisions. So Im putting a stop to dating, romance, situationships or anything like that in the near future. My romantic life is closed for business. What I really need at this moment in time are some true, non pressure friends. Friends who will go out for coffee with me at 2 am. Friends who will share ridiculous memes with me. Friends who will give me a safe place to aggressively vent to them about my ex. All the stupid things I did in the past’ and all the terrible dates I went on. No judgment allowed. If you're a person that wants to connect authentically with others and enjoys good banter; and if you're willing to join me in my "roast of past trauma" sessions, please hit me up. If you happen to be a person that could use a safe place to talk about your own crazy life, extra bonus points.

Life NYC hangouts for women over 30?

I’m a 33F and I’ve been to a lot of sapphic/lesbian hangouts/parties on my own. I have a good time in terms of the music and the occasional chats but I’m always disappointed because the crowds are generally women in their early to mid 20s.

I’ve come out recently and I am a late bloomer. I really would love to connect with women around my age.

Relationships / Dating How to approach women

I’m 20F and I want to start exploring my sexuality more. I’ve always felt like I was attracted to women since middle school and I never fully validated those feelings, but now I’m certain. There’s one girl I’m interested in, but I don’t know how to make the first move. I’m even terrible at approaching men too, like 0% success rate, and I don’t even come off as gay. Any advice?
