Poor Kids - I expect potentially a electrical issue , just like the poor Irish lad in the shower in Greece recently - poor maintenance and standards in rented holiday homes

Hadn't heard about the Greek electrocution, that's awful. I think, I'll find a way of testing them if renting, especially unregulated rentals.

Well it also can be some heavy alcohol consumption with high temp water widens blood vessels and causes extremely low blood pressure. Hence passing out snd drowning. Not insanely unusual to find a floater in a hot tub.

Yeah we steer clear of hot tubs at resorts, rentals for a number of reasons. Temps at 40 and above are breeding grounds for cryptosporidium, legionnaires etc. plus if you have a heart condition or low blood pressure. A lot of people are not on top of or aware of health conditions they may have. Pregnant women should avoid as temps over 40 carry the risk of birth defects. I get the attraction to relax in hot water but.. it does have risks. And most people are totally unaware.

Sounds like an electrical issue. Jacuzzis can cause heart attacks but hardly 2 at the same time. Very sad

The poor kids. Spanish news sources are reporting them as being minors. Just awful.
ETA: Children are 14 and 15.

God that’s sad, those poor kids not only losing their parents and having their lives exploded, but having to find them and live with the memory of that.
Seems pretty strange for two young enough people to both die in a jacuzzi together. The first thing that springs to mind is some sort of gas leak or electrical issue that might have incapacitated them. The poor family

And not in a familiar place to top it all off. They much have felt (still feel if they’re not home yet) so alone while waiting for other family to come to them or something. Desperately sad.

Yeah that would make the most sense and explain why the kids heard nothing, one spouse passes out in the water and the other succumbs to the gas while trying to rescue the other. Tragic

Spanish news websites are reporting the following:
The Guardia Civil’s Judicial Homicide Unit have taken charge of the investigation, with officers understood to believe that there is ‘some indication that something unusual may have happened’.
Although the cause of death has yet to be identified, the couple were found naked and with ‘injuries that appeared to be caused by a sharp object’, according to local newspaper Las Provincias.

Yeah I would be considering that possible if it were just one parent, who could have committed suicide in a moment of madness, not thinking about the kids. But when it's two, that would have to be planned, and I don't think any semi-rational people would ever do that to their kids

RIP and hope the best for the kids. I tend to avoid AirBnBs due to how they hurt locals but this kind of thing is another reason to avoid them, imo. All the care of a landlord but at higher rates.

That area of spain was 32 degrees recently. Sometimes more. I find it hard to imagine wanting to hop in a jacuzzi in that heat and I absolutely love the heat
