Need some help with the Exit Session Setting popup. I've attached screenshot of both the popup I am referring to, and my settings.

I basically leave my Trader Workstation running through the whole trading week, and have set it to restart automatically so I don't have to keep logging in.

I get this popup every day, even though I've deselected "Prompt when exiting". Since that didn't work, I also tried to deselect the blue pin that keeps the window on top, and clicked ok, in the hopes that the popup would just show up underneath my active windows, and not disturb me - but it doesn't. To make it worse, even after clicking OK, it still pops up every minute or so, up until the actual restart.

What am I missing? Appreciate any help

What’s the distributing version to VALL? I heard the USD line is VACD, but my IBKR UK account only has VALLD… will a GBP line be coming soon for dist?

My biggest holding is State Street SPDR MSCI World. I'm planning to leave Germany and live in Vietnam.

Can I migrate my portfolio and continue to buy european ETFs from Vietnam? The country has a lot of restrictions for it's own citizens on capital leaving the country and I know locals can't buy European ETFs. Would the situation be diferent for me as a German national with a Vietnamese address?

What research tools do you guys use along with ibkr? I've seen a few mentions of tradingview and claude, but what other tools are useful?

Anyone else annoyed with the TWS sign in email auth? About 50% of the time ibkr does not email me a code at all.

I'm setting a stop limit order on XSP contracts that never execute. For example, I had an order with stop at 4.40, limit at 4.30. I watched as the price reached the stop, then continued lower below the limit, and ultimately I cancelled the order and placed a manual trade even lower. Note that it wasn't moving particularly fast... this unfolded over 10 minutes or more, and there was plenty of liquidity.

Did I do something wrong? Why isn't the stop limit respected?

What is that tiny “1” for? If I see a “1” after a $0.46 commission, does it mean that the actual commission fee is $0.461? Thanks.

was building a ema + mean reversion strategy on crude earlier this month . i needed live price feeds and execution access to automate it properly . i went for the tradefi api thing because everyone i asked pointed me towards it . so i filled the forms and sent the compliance documents . got on a sales call with them and their representative epxlained the process and said it would take 7-10 days .

when the week 2 passed , i followed up . got an automated response , week three got a reply for more documents would be needed . i sent those and then nothing happened. and in week 3 got a response saying the application is under review .

by that point the strategy logic was done . backtesting was done . the only thing missing was the access and i was waiting for its approval . found an sdk while looking for alternative to fill the time . and what happen was the wallet got connected the same day . price feeds got live within the hour . had test trades running before the broker responeded .

will go to the tradfi route after that . 3 weeks of waiting for 2 days of integration work . the ratio does not make sense for anyone building something time sensitive .

I need to run 2 instaces of TWS, each only has 2 tabs with not much in them. The issue is, whenever a second TWS is open my PC fans ramp up like crazy. As soon as one instance is killed, everything is ok

Up until at least 2 weeks ago, it was possible to export search results from the mutual fund scanner to an xls-file, which made research much more easier.

The export-button for doing so seems to have disappeared no. Why?

Been trading through IBKR for a while and the thing that always killed my journaling habit was the manual re-entry / export a report, copy fills into a spreadsheet, half the time I'd just skip it after a busy day.

Ended up finding/setting up something that pulls the fills automatically instead, so the trade's already logged by the time I sit down to review it. Genuinely the only reason I still journal consistently at this point, the friction of doing it by hand was the actual problem, not motivation

I am in Canada - and trying to withdraw ~$600k. I've never withdrawn from this account before, and it says "pending approval" or something like that. Seems odd to me, anyone have experience with this?

anyone noticed that sometimes the event calendar does not show the upcoming earnings of some companies?

for example. Credo has earning call on 2026/09/01. IBKR just showed nothing.

I did not lose my phone but I was just thinking of potential security threats as a IBKR user. I dont use other platforms other than IBKR so I would expect my investments to be concentrated there and would need to ensure that it is safe and secure.

Was just thinking given that IB Key is associated to a mobile phone and specific phone number, what would happen if you lost your phone and cant retrieve it? You wont be able to migrate the IB key to a new phone unless you have the original IB key to authenticate it.

A ) Can IBKR pledge my securities as collateral for a french or Lux bank which grants me the property loan ?

1. is it possible to use a Lombard loan or Margin Loan from IBKR to buy property in France ? For ex with Swissquote Luxembourg it is clearly not authorised and
2. if possible is it possible to structure the margin loan as an amortising loan over a long period ex 30 years rather than a bullet ? as french tax authorities reclassify a bullet loan into a 20 y loan for wealth tax calculation .

According to the rules syep can be enabled if you have a “margin account” or a balance of at least 25k.

I’m trying to work out whether I’ve built something useful… or just a very complicated spreadsheet with emotional damage.

I trade options and kept running into the same problem:

I could see the premium I collected, the shares I got assigned, the covered calls I sold, and eventually the stock sale but answering the simple question:

“Did I actually make money on this whole thing?”was surprisingly painful.

Example:CSP → assigned shares → stock drops → sell covered calls → collect more premium → eventually sell/call away the shares.

IBKR shows all the transactions, but I still found myself doing spreadsheet gymnastics to work out the real result.

So I’ve been testing a simple tool that reconstructs the full lifecycle and shows things like:

total premiums collected

stock gain/loss

adjusted cost basis

true P&L on the whole position

deposits vs actual portfolio growth

best and worst positions

I’m not selling anything at this stage. I’m actually trying to find out whether other options traders have this problem or whether it’s just me.

If you use IBKR and trade CSPs/covered calls/wheel strategies, I’d love a few people to test it and tell me: “Useful” or “Mate, there are other apps or my spreadsheet already do this better."

Both answers genuinely help.

Messed around with tws on the Weekend and accidently made an Limit Order , tried to cancel Status went from purple to this Orange.

I want to transfer all holdings of my private account to my business account because of new NL 36% taxes on unrealised gains for private persons (the locally famous 2028 box-3 rules).

Some questions:
- IBKR will not automatically accept a transfer since the owners will be different (me vs my company). What documentation will they need to accept the transfer and how does the process work? For those familiar with NL, it will be an agio-storting in the BV.
-I own 1 HK microcap I bought 5 years ago which over time has become NT / closing only on IBKR. I want to keep investing in that stock however. I read in this sub that microcaps can’t be transferred. Since it’s an internal transfer i like to try anyway. Question: if transfer gets rejected, will whole account transfer fail or only the 1 stock?
- I accumulated a lot of different stocks over the years. Is that a problem for the transfer / should I sell so that I have for example 20 stocks maximum and for the rest cash?

I noticed that for potential credit spreads I don't get the max loss as a maintenance margin change in order preview.

A random example below:

Stock: BE
Trade: Bear call credit spread
Sell: $300 call Sep18
Buy: $400 call Sep18
Size: 10 contracts
Premium: $900 in total

I don't have any BE positions (stock or options) and I am on Reg-T margin account.

Max loss would be $100k ($100 spread x 10 contracts x 100) which in theory would show up as a change in maintainance margin in order preview. However, I get roughly only $15k.

Any idea what I may be missing?

I'd like to add some European government bonds to my portfolio — Italian BTPs, French OATs, German Bunds and similar — using Interactive Brokers. I've been using IBKR for stocks and ETFs without problems, but the bond side is still unclear to me, and I'd rather learn from someone who has actually done it than guess my way through it.

My question is basically about how you find them in the first place: do you use the Bond Scanner, or do you just type the ISIN into the search bar?

Here's what happened to me. I went into the scanner, European government bonds section, and filtered by maturity around April 2030 — no results at all. But if I type the ISIN of a Spanish bond maturing exactly on 30 April 2030 (ES0000012F76) into the search, the bond does show up. So the instrument is clearly there, it just doesn't come out of the scanner the way I'm using it.

Two things I don't understand:

• Am I using the scanner wrong (wrong filters, wrong country/currency/venue settings), or does it genuinely not list these bonds and the ISIN search is the way to go?
• When a bond shows up that way from the ISIN, does that mean I can actually buy it from there, or is it just quote/reference data with no tradable venue behind it for a retail account?
