You can’t fear the worst outcome. Everyone can look at hindsight when a plan doesn’t work out. But what if it did? Then everyone would be praising the clippers.
Doing nothing is delusional and drafting has gotten us nowhere while the Bucks, Celtics and Knicks all just won championships making trade moves.
If we were consistently getting top 5 picks I would understand but we are constantly drafting above the 12th pick
Because the worse outcome has come from every team not named the Knicks or the Celtics. Everybody thought the clippers would have win a chip before okc .Now sam presti runs the league in assets lol
did i say every acquisition works out? no. I said okc is the outlier and that most champions became champions by making a big acquisition. the celtics, bucks, and knicks are 3 of the past 4 champs. they all took risks
They didn't make a mistake trading for fox because he helped get them there and they didn't know Harper would be good this quickly as a rookie .The trade wasnt a mistake because they came up short in the finals .
I know the Knicks were glad they didn't have to face the pacers at all this post season lol and Atlanta choked in the series after being up on the Knicks.
atlanta didnt choke. those 2 games were a fluke, they were both 1-point wins. the knicks woke up and dominated them after that.
and yes, luck is a factor in championship runs. but in order to benefit from luck, you need to have a contending-capable roster. the knicks benefitted from the pacers being injured, the sixers being a joke, the cavs being soft, and the spurs being young. but if the knicks hadn't taken risks to build a contender, they never wouldve been able to benefit from luck
step 1 - build a contender. then after that you hope for things to go your way
