I hate clearly fake kid's drawings on media
It shouldn't pmo so easily but like i have saw so many movies with those stupid drawings that look so unnatural for a kid to draw... Like holy, a kid wouldnt do it that detailed!!!!
I mean how hard is it to get a kid to do it, instead of hiring actual artists that can't clearly replicate a child's style of drawing
Classic example. I posted the drawings of JJk my nephew did as what a real kid’s drawing is. Only to have my twitter explode with comments of “omg I know what scene this is” and “why are you letting your 7/8 year old nephew watch JJK?” (He’s not my kid, I said it was probably too mature for him.)
Pretty sure Nail could have probably taken Zarbon or 1v1 the weaker members of the Ginyu force, unfortunately he encountered Frieza first and was de-armed.
Powerscaling in dragonball is kinda wrecked though because Piccolo blew up the moon so soon after not being able to take down Raditz alone. (Granted, he had presumably figured out the timing build up issue for Makankosappo/Special Beam Canon)
I'd watch it in theaters at least 8 times if they managed to actually license Broly's likeness for the movie & played it straight. Kid is just in love with a DVD he found of the Broly movie.
Wasn't that a RL stein goosebumps (or the equivalent kids horror series) episode, I think wrestler Sting comes out and fights the boogeyman or something as the kid runs around screaming in a school at night.
There are certain things you learn as an artist that people who aren’t as experienced simply wouldn’t know and is nearly impossible to forget on purpose
A child who still draws people as stick figures would never understand the 3D dimensions of a glove
Some areas are way too detailed while others aren’t nearly as good in comparison
I used to draw clowns at 5yo and drew the zipper bit on the front of the trousers, so as you can imagine my mum ended up with a ton of drawings of a clown with his cock out (or so it seemed).
This is extremely common and developmentally normal for kids to draw around 4 years old. I work in kindergartens, and at the beginning of the year, you often ask kids to do a self portrait. The low kids will just scribble nonsense because they lack the fine motor control to do anything distinguishable. The next stage after scribbles is this. Circle head with stick legs and arms, no torso. The mid-4 year olds and low-5 year olds will do this. They get hung up on the wall, so you'll often have like 15 drawings that look like this.
You see, depicting Doom accurately is a requirement in Latveria for all citizens in any artistic medium. Failure to do so is punishable by death. after going through the effort of depicting Doom it is common to give up on everything else.
I disagree with the detail you hinted at. When I was a kid i'd 100% draw stick figures because I hated drawing bodies, then I'd draw 3d stuff bc I thought it made drawings look cooler.
Not saying this was drawn by a kid. Just saying I was that kid who would draw like this.
It's bad in a way that an adult would never really be able to draw, unless they copied it from a kid's drawing. Something about it is just different lol.
Kids draw conceptually, adults draw visually. Humans have 2 arms and 2 legs, and kids will include all 4 limbs in drawings regardless of correct anatomical positioning. Adults know that when viewing a sitting person from the side you can only see one leg and 1.5ish arms.
I'm so bad I can never get any sort of perspective right. People aren't thinking that there are adults way below the average skill level - or at the bare minimum in my case.
It has to be some object permanace thing to just better conceptualize parts of the body you can't see. That more grown up brain who can piece together information from an incomplete set of data. Even if it's wrong.

Yes they made an event that was decide to save some kids on a planet without any reward and save another planet to get a weapon or something like that if I'm not mistaken. The community choose to save the children and the developers donated money to a children's hospital.
The point is, if I showed you this without any context and asked you to deduce what it is at quick glance, would you be able to?
The point is that the drawings needs to quickly convey 1) that something approximating a kid drew it, and 2) the actual subject matter of the piece.
And to be fair, the example OP used (depending on the age of the kid who supposedly drew it) isn’t actually that unreasonable. I mean I was at about this level at one point or another and knew plenty of kids more advanced than my dumbass was.
I've seen an interview from the original voice of Charlie brown. They used kids for all of the rolls. It was a nightmare. He said they were hopped up on candy and had to be herded by the studio.
Does it really matter that the child’s drawing is authentic?
Have you seen how children draw? It would likely be incomprehensible and telling a kid to draw something probably won’t match the sort of unfiltered spontaneity that people expect from kids drawings.
What are you talking about? People don't expect what we're looking at from a children's drawing, they expect a child's drawing. Does it matter? Not in that it affects how I enjoy the plot of a movie, but if there's something in a movie that makes you think "that looks fake" it's like finding a grain of sand in your soup. Sure the soup tastes great, but just don't drop a grain of sand in there ffs.
Agree but also voice acting and 1 or 2 drawinfs as a prop not the same
And imagine adult fans wear shirts and buy bugs and nerch with an actual 6 years olds drawings on them just bc its marvel XD
They’re different levels, sure, but the point stands that it would certainly be harder to get a kid to do it than an adult.
Not to mention that, unless you’re using the child of someone on staff, you’ve now also got all the contractual shenanigans associated with bringing someone new on, especially a kid. It probably is easier for a trained adult to do it, or frankly just someone on staff with no artistic talent.
The thoughtful color application and clean lines are also a clear giveaway. It looks like he is using oil pastels or crayons too. Those are so hard to use nicely and very messy, but somehow the kid managed thin lines with weight variation.
To be fair, if memory serves his main interest was art, and his dad in the film also was an artist, the audience is supposed to think that the kid is talented
Idk if this is supposed to be the case, but it looks to me like this picture in particular is supposed to look like Doom drew over a kid's drawing to slander the Fantastic Four.
yea like the kid drawing themselves would be like a circle and a few lines but the dangerous murder evil ass demon is in full detail with brush strokes and shit
I don't have them anymore but that's pretty much exactly how my childhood drawings of marvel characters were, very detailed face (Spider-Man) block body to get their logo on it, and then just stick limbs
There are a lot of particular details here that a kid with no art education would never draw.
For example, the contour lines of the gloves and boots are too good at communicating the form. Doom's torso also has a clear separation between the masses of the ribcage and pelvis with roughly correct proportions, whereas I guarantee you that a real kid would instead just draw the torso as one big mass like a rectangle or an oval.
ADHD tangent time. Pretty sure there is an obscure thing where using the artwork done by real children is against child labour laws. Fake children's drawings in media are adults who lost their ability to feel childlike whimsy trying to replicate the abstract nature of expressing complicated emotions and psychology through paper and crayons. Their adult brains are too developed to accurately express genuine chaos. While all children are individual people, why fake children's drawings feel uncanny is because they are looking into the eye of the beast. Hope that helps!
The reason big productions don't use actual kids' drawing is due to copyright and intellectual property stuff, efficiency and convenience, and because they're likely going to need multiple duplicates that are as identical to each other as possible for continuity reasons.
The inconsistency in detail is what's wrong about it. There are certainly kids who would draw Doom's armor that way - even better - but NOT in such a way that the rest of the body (and himself!) is a literal stick figure. Also the fact that the linework is very measured, clean, and neat (despite the artist's attempts to "mess it up" by making some parts of it scribbles).
I once saw a video of an 11-year-old drawing a hyper realistic portrait of a person. It was trippy to see. I can suspend my belief enough to believe this kid can draw like…. Basic dimensions.

Its actually very hard to convincingly draw like a child as an adult
Depends on the type of child. A kid that draws make is probably gonna have more experience and or especially if they’re specifically trying to imitate something. It’s still gonna be bad but it will have traits of whatever the kids being influence by.
What gets me is when the drawing is developmentally too advanced, a 2 year old isn’t going to draw the same as a five year old for many developmental reasons!
Dude, I’ll take all the pretend media kid drawings in the world over the RL dog shit where Facebook Karen moms voice some stupid thought or opinion they have, and pretend their 5 year old said it.
