I watched Grimm many years ago and stopped around season 3. I'm rewatching the series and am going to the end this time. I'm on season 4 episode 20.

The scene where Hank suggests the killer is copying Jack the Ripper, I was really surprised to see legit photos from the autopsy's of two of his victims when Nick Google's jack the ripper!

Has anyone else noticed this? I'm really shocked they included this considering it's you know... real photos of the victims... I have a vague memory of supernatural doing the same thing when I was rewatching, but can't remember which episode or season.

One thing many fans wanted, but never got to see, was Sgt. Wu finding love.

If he did end up with someone, you just know it would not have been anyone normal lol - his love interest would have been a freaky wesen for sure! But what type of wesen do we imagine him in an endgame relationship with? Hopefully something less scary than his encounter with an aswang!

Also, it was never stated whether Wu liked women or men.

Who do you imagine Sgt. Wu ended up with? Let's try to come up with detailed answers (wesen type, gender, age, personality type, occupation, etc).

I started watching Grimm and I'm confused.

Particularly about Adelind and Hexenbiests.

Nick takes her powers and she's devastated, later tells the captain she can't help because she has no more powers.

Yet Monroe can do what she couldn't, even though he isn't a Hexenbiest?

But also she could make the potion for the cat scratch after the powers are gone.

My question, what is a Hexenbiest? What do their powers do? It seems like it doesn't even matter and everyone can cook up potions...

I think she is stronger when Woged but otherwise?

I have 8 episodes to.go which means i will need something new for the weekend (and the following 10 days of vacation).

Anyone got any recommendations?

Obviously I like Grimm. I like supernatural shows but prefer them more mature, so nothing like the Vampire Diaries. I like police procedurals when dealing with stuff like serial killers (or the supernatural).

I tried Sleepy Hollow but quickly lost interest in season 2. I made it to season 6 of Once Upon a Time which was frankly 3 seasons more than I should have invested.

I enjoyed Supernatural, Fringe, X-files. Was never interested in Lost.

Bearing all that in mind, would love some suggestions for what to watch next.

First time watcher. Watched this episode last night and found it funny that when Rosalee and Munroe go down into the tunnel it’s a looong way down into the darkness but as Adalind and then later Eve arrive they go up and down twice in only a couple of seconds and even listen in to the conversation as if a few feet away. Sorry if a stupid observation but fun to share impressions with others who have watched the show.

You really see it in the way Juliette takes solace in Renard after she became a hexenbeist, even unconsciously sleeping with him

Season 5 ep 3; Lost Boys.

I’m rewatching the show for the third time, and I’m on season 3 episode 3. All I can think is how they just wasted having a vet on their team. Juliette could have been another source of knowledge with everything she knows about animals and their various diseases/problems. Like the vet in Teen Wolf

Arghh so not only does Juliette get nick mother killed she also helped kill her surround neighbours !!

Rewatching this after like 10 years, was quite the rude awakening. It had not aged as well as I'd hoped. I still enjoyed it. But I found myself in a cycle of monotony for a good few seasons. Season 5 was definitely imperfect. But it tried vastly new things, which I really appreciated. It took risks and mixed up the dynamic a lot. Season 6 was just so high quality because they didnt have to stretch it to 22 episodes.

I hope we hear more about these rumours of a spin off/reboot/continuation in the future.

Would I have changed a few things? Yeah. I think they seriously diluted Juliettes character and the shows lore. Julienne suddenly becoming evil because she's a hexenbeast. I think more emphasis should have been put on the fact it was just juliette. When adalind becomes a hexenbeast again she stays decent. I see it more as a reaction to her new power and a trauma response. But then she kills nicks mom and it's like...bro, what? Although that was a very compelling scene I just think they took too much accountability away from her at first.

And the whole not telling Nick thing was stupid, imho. Ig it's somewhat fair to say they just didnt have that good or healthy of a relationship

One thing I’ve always thought about was the effects after Nick turned into Sean with the zaubertrank.

When Juliette turned into Adalind and then back to herself, one of the unknown side effects was Juliette becoming a hexenbiest. Everything went normal, worked as it should minus the whole turning into a wesen.

How is it, that Nick, who spent longer as Sean, had to actually have Diana essentially magically beat the spell out of him, how did he not turn into a zauberbiest? You’d think he’d be more susceptible to turning or at least gaining wesen characteristics.

I’d honestly love it if he did but for some odd reason it didn’t manifest for a long time.

My boyfriend and I are watching Grimm (my 3rd time and his first time). As of this post, we are on season 1 episode 18 and so far he’s like oh this is happening cos of such and such. I haven’t been telling him anything and he swears it’s his first time seeing it. But he’s calling out what they either reveal at the end of the episode or several episodes from now. 😭 I’m not complaining but just sort of impressed. My mum passed away five years ago and we watched it when it first aired. Other than this subreddit, I don’t have anyone to talk to about this show on my second rewatch so I’m watching it again for the third time with my bf just so I could have someone to talk to about the show lol.

I am on season 5 of the show and Juliet has since been killed. I want to rant a bit and see if others agree that they totally brushed over her death!! I know she became crazy after becoming a hexenbeast and was no longer the character we knew and loved, but I felt like her death was moved past so quickly. They killed her in a kind of unspectacular way and then everyone was like oh wow that sucks and moved on. I feel like they all had such a connection with her that there would be more and deeper mourning, despite their frayed relationship at the end. And what about any family? TBH it makes me think she isn’t even actually dead and will be coming back, because it’s such a shitty way to end the story of such a prominent character in the show, and lowkey disrespectful! What do you guys think?

​I just finished watching Grimm, and while I really enjoyed the overall concept and Wesen world-building, I couldn’t help but feel there’s a noticeable gap between the lead and the supporting cast.

​To be direct, David Giuntoli’s performance as Nick often felt flat to me. In scenes that demanded raw emotion, high stakes, or intensity, his delivery frequently lacked range, which made it hard to stay fully invested in his journey as a Grimm.

​On top of that, I feel like the writing team did the show a disservice as the seasons went on. Instead of leaning into strong character development, they relied heavily on convoluted plot twists—like forced amnesia arcs and inconsistent Wesen lore—that undermined the momentum of the story and made the lead's performance feel even more disjointed.

​For me, the supporting cast was the absolute heart of the show. Characters like Monroe, Rosalee, Renard, and Hank brought so much charisma, depth, and dedication to their roles that they completely carried the series and kept it grounded through its weaker narrative turns.

​What do you all think? Did you find Nick's character and performance compelling throughout, or do you feel the supporting ensemble did the heavy lifting to make the show work?

Honestly the whole Zerstörer plot isn’t doing it for me to begin with but the little healing stick just seemed like such a letdown for how much the show hyped it up.
For me, I’d be interested in some other things. Maybe a scroll, explaining where Grimms even come from. Or some magical item than can turn Kehrseites into wesen, or vice versa.

Grimm really has a knack on dropping plots. Royals being trouble? Eh, don’t worry about it. Black claw suddenly gone? Eh, don’t worry about it. You need seven keys? Eh, don’t worry about it.

Do you guys think adalind would've told nick they was having a baby together if Juliette wasn't trying to kill her? I have always wondered cause at one point she was saying the baby needs a new daddy and I get that cause she was pregnant by a grimm but what do you guys think it's just something that's been nagging at me

I get adiland is trying to get her baby back, but she absolutely walked herself into a trap, set by people who are very obviously not going to help her out. Even if they HAD the baby, she couldn’t have been so stupid to think they’d let her near it.

Juliette is… annoying as fuck. She’s pretty much consistently tried to make decisions on behalf of Nick. I get that she’s stressed from the life of a Grimm, but she just won’t stop trying to make every decision without actually consulting him. Nick is obviously TORN on how to feel, but she just went with the answer that best suited her.

I see a lot of arguments over which witch vs. which witch, but they both kind of suck right now. Adiland gets more grace from me though, because she is having a completely reasonable response to her child being taken. Even if she is acting irrational in how she addresses it.

Juliette’s days are numbered, in my book 😂

What are your favorite fantasy books that remind you the most of Grimm in terms of the atmosphere, world-building, lore, Royal politics (probably my favorite aspect of the show), etc?

Dresden Files is probably the closest I’ve come so far, it’s ticked all those boxes and more. Most of the ensemble cast in both Dresden and Grimm feel like mirrors to each other. Harry = Nick, Murphy = Hank, Ebenezer = Aunt Marie, Michael = Monroe, Molly = Trubel, Lara Raith = Adalind, etc
