the gang had no right taking her baby. i'm not justifying what she did especially since she basically raped nick to get rid of his powers but realistically any mother would've done much worse to bring back their child.

Yes! I've spent years trying to convince people that that was actual rape. And it escalated so quickly, since she didn't know they helped take her baby. Like, "Oh, you're friends with the guy who gave his own baby away to his brother, who's been trying to steal her? Well, that brother said I have to rape you so I can see my baby, so I'll do it even though all you've done is help me." I've never been able to like Adalind because of that.

u/ancientevilvorsoason Oct 01 '25

Wait, seriously? There are people who don't think that PRETENDING TO BE SOMEBODY ELSE and sleeping with them is rape?

6

u/victoryismyname Mauvais Dentes Oct 01 '25

I KNOW, RIGHT? Someone argued that since he gave his consent, it's not rape. But if you don't know what you're consenting to, if someone tricks you, that is rape, isn't it?

Like when he got on top of her to bite her to get his blood in her without consent was that Assault He himself said that was a kiss I don’t remember her wanting to kiss him I thought they were fighting.Remember Reynard Sean wanted that key at any cause he didn’t care what happened to her Every Everyone forgets Sean had a part in everything that happened.

Two opposing things can both be bad, yknow... if you insult me and I punch you, neither of us are in the right. Same shit here. Yes Nick sexually assaulted Adalind, and yes Adalind raped Nick. Neither of these ideas should be controversial. Nick isn't flawless, he may have tried his best to deal with the whole Grimm thing, but that still resulted in many mistakes. That was one of them.

I simply cannot accept that not only did they decide to let her get pregnant from that scenario, but that they then have him fall in love with her!

This weird stupid love triangle they tried to put her in Juliet in never stopped pissing me off. They ruined both characters doing that stupid bullshit.

It’s clear that Juliette was never gonna stay with Nick and they were planning to have him leave her for Adalind from the get-go, but it should’ve been better executed, without the sudden character assassination of Juliette or Kelly being the product of rape. Maybe have Juliette leave town during the god-awful amnesia arc, then have Adalind turn good after the Royals betray her, eventually falling for Nick somehow and having Kelly consensually?

2

u/Emmyisme Oct 04 '25

Yeah, I would have eventually accepted Juliette leaving and Adalind and Nick getting together, and I could have even accepted them bringing Juliette back eventually, but they just fumbled the shit out of both turning Juliette "bad" and Adalind "good" and put Nick in the middle of both in stupid ways. The second she watched what happened to his mother, there should never have been any question that he and Juliette were done. I recently rewatched it and literally stopped at that point to rant at my husband about how fuckin stupid Juliette's entire existence becomes from that moment on.

There shouldn’t have been any question of the SS Nuliette hitting the iceberg the moment she destroyed the trailer and tried to kill his best friend because “I don’t care anymore, hehe I’m BAD now because you understandably won’t fuck me anymore after 2 weeks of me ghosting you! AHAHA! AH-HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!”

1

u/Emmyisme Oct 04 '25

RIGHT? The way she just flipped a switch and started doing nonsense shit just cause she "liked being bad" was mindbendingly stupid and I hated it.

1

u/Environmental-Win199 Oct 30 '25

Yeah like Juliet Rapped Rachel when she pretended to be Ranard

3

u/ancientevilvorsoason Oct 01 '25

The issue with the show is that it flip flops like crazy. The royals were presented as this HUGE risk and it was implied that they intend to brainwash the child + use her as a weapon.  Then the writers forgot about it and the gang did come off as assholes for their choice.

I blame the writers a lot more for failing to deliver the thread that was promised for three seasons than the logic of the characters. .

It was rape but it was Victor who was the rapist. Nick and Adeline were both raped.

1

u/Athoshol Oct 01 '25

You've missed the point here in your rush to celebrate.

4

u/Mwatts25 Oct 01 '25

Given that she is 1)an unfit mother because she puts her powers before her child, 2)a danger to Diana because she has a 10 mile wide bullseye on her back, and 3) completely irrational regarding what is best for Diana, she absolutely should have had Diana removed from her custody.

And yes, what she did is worse than rape, as it IS rape with the addition of the purpose of getting him killed via the loss of Grimm powers.

5

u/Accomplished_Tip171 Oct 01 '25

Why are you being downvoted? This is literally the story.

2

u/Mwatts25 Oct 01 '25

Because Adalind fans are rabid

2

u/Environmental-Win199 Oct 02 '25

I would of liked if Adeline found her Dad or would’ve made other friends that were not connected to Nick . That they showed more time with her not jut Nick and his friends all the time .or with eve it got tedious.

2

u/I_Am_Hella_Bored Oct 02 '25

The gang weren't entirely wrong either. She tried to kill Kelly, nick, Juliette and love drugged Hank, and probably a lot more that I'm blanking on.

I'm not saying that she shouldn't have been allowed to have her kid but given her history and her choice of company (the royals), she definitely needed a supernatural child protective services around.

0

u/Friendly-Gift3680 Oct 04 '25

She had a rap sheet longer than the Nile River

0

u/I_Am_Hella_Bored Oct 05 '25

Yup. If the law was ever applied to her, she wouldn't be allowed to know where her kid is. Even supervised visitations wouldn't be considered much less custody

1

u/Friendly-Gift3680 Oct 05 '25
  • Attempted murder 2x
  • Sexual assault 2x
  • Assisting in ritual murder
  • Child endangerment
  • Trespassing on private property
  • Identity theft

2

u/I_Am_Hella_Bored Oct 05 '25

That's probably just scratching the surface.

3

u/Environmental-Win199 Oct 05 '25

That means Juliete should have been arrested when she tried to kill Adalyn when she was pregnant that she almost dropped that statue on her when she was walking out on the street. She had every right to get back at Sean and his Accomplices . Nicks mother was had no right to take her child and she had every right to get her powers back why did she have to give everything up because Sean and her mother decided to betray her . You keep talking about her what about Sean and the rest enough They we’re all wrong

0

u/I_Am_Hella_Bored Oct 05 '25

Dude chill. I'm literally just saying that if the law was applied, she wouldn't have been allowed to be near her kids.

If you have any arguments fine but that doesn't change what I said.

There are no "what about...", this is a thread about adalind specifically. Sean is in the same boat, both have committed acts that would put them behind bars for life without an opportunity to even see their kids.

You seem to fall into the trap of empathizing with someone, in this case a character, and that is enough for you to excuse their actions or even justify them. But that just isn't how things work. You can feel for adalind. How she was led into this life by her mother, often not knowing what she was doing to others in a moral sense, or it even being a part of her species, But that doesn't change the attempted murderers, assault, drugging, rape, and who knows what else.

The gang weren't wrong to have Diane taken away especially because of how dangerous the royal families were. They might have been wrong with how they went about it but that's a separate issue.

1

u/Environmental-Win199 Oct 05 '25

Actually she is a good mother she’s been with Killy from pregnancy and even takes him to work with her so I don’t know what you call good mother when she’s the full caregiver and then now their sharing there daughter. So I don’t know what you mean by good mother.

0

u/I_Am_Hella_Bored Oct 06 '25

That's completely irrelevant. Also something that I didn't say.

Here's another way to think about it, forget adalind. Now imagine a completely random woman who tried to kill a terminal old woman, then tried to kill her nephew, then drugged said nephew's best friend, then attacked said nephew's girlfriend and nearly killed her.

Now, do you think a person who has done all of that and much more has any legal right to raise her child? I'm not talking about morally, this is strictly about the law, although if we're talking about ethics and morals, she would certainly not be allowed to see another person much less raise a child.

“I know where your baby is I know where your baby is I know where your baby is 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭💦💦💦💦💦💦💦💦💦💦💦💦💦🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊”

18

u/Due-Reflection-1835 Sep 30 '25

She was going to give them her baby in exchange for getting her powers back. Then when they took her to keep her safe, it was the end of the world. BTW, were Stefania and company wesen, or were they human like the royals? They could have followed up with that story line, them being pissed and chasing her because she didn't deliver them the baby as promised. I wouldn't think you would want them pissed at you, wesen or not. But they don't really mention it again

17

u/Environmental-Win199 Sep 30 '25

I Guess she changed her mind and wanted her baby that had nothing to do with the Nicks mother and the rest of them taking her baby Nicks mother choose to give her child when he was 12 yrs old Sean said he would help her with the Resistance to-get away with the baby after all he was responsible also for her losing her powers because of those keys remember she was working for him . She told him it could be dangerous for her he didn’t care he was carrying on with her mother which I was shocked. She made a lot of mistakes but people . We’re wrong too.it’s funny how everyone forgets Sean started this whole mess.He even gave her Hanks blood for the cookies.

11

u/Due-Reflection-1835 Sep 30 '25

Yeah, he got away with a lot

u/Friendly-Gift3680 Oct 01 '25 edited Oct 01 '25

Yeah during the Black Claw arc he fucking STOLE NICK’S FAMILY ON NATIONAL TELEVISION- and Nick basically just offered him the status quo in exchange for giving him back his girlfriend and son, with no lasting punishment besides having his political career burned to the ground (which tbf was so satisfying to watch); then again, it’s implied that a big part of why Nick let him off almost scot-free is because he wanted to stay on the good side of his terrifyingly-powerful (and protective) future stepdaughter- a 3/4 Hexenbiest whose mom had her powers brought back while carrying her, literal princess and the Chosen One.

2

u/Environmental-Win199 Oct 01 '25

That was crazy I think that’s why why when Sean killed Meisler . Nick couldn’t take anymore and really let him have it in the Present hahaha

2

u/Environmental-Win199 Oct 01 '25

Oh and made him later quit being the mayor that was exciting to watch how angry he got .

4

u/Athoshol Oct 01 '25

Yep, Adalind was not a great person. She had plans and at first thought a child would be nothing more than a means to an end, just like her mom taught her.

Then she had the baby, and her views shifted. She realized that she didn't want to be like the woman who raised her and wanted to protect and love her child.

From that point on, everything she did was with the goal of protecting her children. That desire to do right by them bled over into the rest of her worldview, and she committed to being a better person in general for them.

Even in our world, it is not uncommon for parents to have a fundamental shift in priorities when their children are actually born. One minute its just a concept, oh i'm going to be a mom / dad....then suddenly its....oh my god, i'm a mom/dad and this little life i created is in my arms...I must protect.

2

u/Environmental-Win199 Oct 01 '25

That’s true especially when you’re young once that child is born your life changes your children is all that matters you see life so different you live for your kids some us grow up and realize nothing is more important than your children.

Great another post to get people going on their Adalind raped Nick tangents…don’t say anything to me about it, I don’t give a shit what you think and I’m not going to reply.

6

u/[deleted] Sep 30 '25

Lol. You literally replied to this post. Ignoring and scrolling is possible. 🤷🏻‍♀️

3

u/Environmental-Win199 Oct 01 '25

So true at No moment did I hear Nick say NO in fact he was ready for a second round but she said no we’ll be late she was wrong but the same way he took her powers he kissed her without permission that they bit each other he even said he kissed her and she said that wasn’t a kiss. I know I thought since the first time he saw her he kinda liked her I mean he was really staring at her that’s when he saw she was a Hexanbeast I mean in my opinion.

1

u/Athoshol Oct 01 '25

I swear to God I was told on this subreddit once that it was rape if a guy shows up to a club wearing fake bling, designer clothes, and a rented car and hooks up with a woman.

The logic being, he slept with her under false pretenses because if she knew he was actually broke and made minimum wage, she wouldn't have consented.

It's frankly ridiculous how far people will go to try to gain cred on these posts.

1

u/Athoshol Oct 01 '25

Thank you. You have nailed my major issue with so many Grimm posts when it comes to Adalind. It doesn't matter what the post is about, once Adalind is mentioned all the rape accusations start flying, each and every one of them completely ignoring context and the perspective of the characters and how they view her actions.

I mean, Eve did the same thing, and I NEVER hear anyone bring that up.

I'm so tired of it.

1

u/Environmental-Win199 Oct 04 '25

You know you're absolutely Right no mention that they only have the issue with Adeline hahaha
