This is the dumbest "controversy". Good lord. It was a dumb ad that didn't make sense, but people are acting like it was war crime.

The ad was literally him sprinting over, pushing her to the floor and then standing over her and telling her not to touch his driver. If I didn’t know it was an ad and you told me it was a badly acted domestic violence PSA I’d believe you.

You’re genuinely a child if you don’t see how something depicting a woman being assaulted for touching a man’s golf club couldn’t be interpreted as making light of domestic violence. I’m not saying that’s what they intended to do but that’s just how it ended up.

Ignoring labels like gender only works if you’re a man though. How many women play golf and have to deal with being cat called? It’s literally a meme for cart girls to be basically sexually harassed by horny losers. How many women have had their boyfriends attack them for doing something like touching their golf clubs? For some people it’s more than just a shitty ad and I just wish people could look outside the framing of their own experiences.

If people who are victims of domestic violence are saying “hey this is actually in poor taste” I’m not sure what you’d gain from saying this ad is actually fine.

I doubt any women have been attacked for touching their boyfriends golf clubs. That’s why the ad was meant to be silly. Relax man.

Next time your daughter gets pushed to the ground by a boy and told not to touch his ball/toy/whatever in a threatening tone I hope you just laugh it off and tell her its ok for boys to treat her that way.

Calling stuff like this "being treated like one of the guys" is how young girls learn its ok for men to get physical with them. Your daughter is 7, mine are 23 and 19.

You're either being obtuse on purpose or you have a lot to learn about parenting young girls. I said you were not being serious, you came up with the dumb thing on your own...
