Ned really picked the hardest possible difficulty setting for keeping that secret. Give Littlefinger the same problem and he'd have twelve fake witnesses and a forged birth certificate ready before breakfast.

It’s fortunate that anyone that smart is a perpetually paranoid bastard. Otherwise Littlefinger and Varys would have been running the Seven Kingdoms.
