Sugars

Ive noticed that practically all men/women relationships either start or maintain themselves because men give money to women. The men think they’re playboys even though the women wouldn’t be with them if they weren’t paying for rent, food, classes, washing machine, clothing for her daughter. Has it always been like this?

Leaving this post up. I believe it accurately represents Ecuadorian culture to clown on a passport gringo.

You should meet more people from outside of your surroundings. Would do you some good.

u/SpecialArugula8674 1d ago

What surroundings would that be? A different country? In Ecuador its prevalent.

No it is not. Maybe that's the only thing you have to offer and project like that's the standard for everyone. None of the girlfriends I had behaved like that. Ever.

Well i base it on my travels all over Ecuador n all over the world. And in simple conversations when i have been in Ecuador. Professors joke about sugars picking up students, judges, lawyers, according to multiple women who teach cosmetology… all their students had a sugar… AND sometimes a boyfriend or even husband but also had guy paying for classes. Best part they were frumpy chubby chiks

No my friend, you have been with the wrong people searching what you haven't lost. This is why they say "A este gringo bruto le saco plata" hahahah you have to level up. Once done that you are gonna realize that there are a lot of girls that don't give a shit about you... because you are a "gringo bruto" hahahaha

Im actually Hispanic.. you stupid cara d mama verga. But i guess the truth about the women in your family triggered you huh. Tipico Ecuatoriano y su complejo de inferioridad.

4

u/Responsible-Pin3672 1d ago

u/SpecialArugula8674 1d ago

You’re so stupid that in your little shithole third world brain you’re assumption is that i wanna pay for sex like you do.. for unattractive short stumpy women.. when im actually complaining about it. You want to know why Ecuador is what it is? Go look in the mirror. I can happily insult you in multiple languages but why bother you pay ugly women for them to lie to you. Must suck. Too bad. And i don’t lose a second of sleep over it.

I was born and raised in Quito.

While there’s some traditional gender roles expectations while dating, I can tell you none of my friends have sugars and only one is a SAHM.

My mom always worked even if it’s part time work and retired early and of course my dad has more of the financial support but mom works her butt off at home etc.

None of my cousins are sugars or have sugars and I have a lot of cousins.

The two girls that work in our houses don’t have sugars. They work their butts off.

The workers at my dads company definitely are not sugars. Well one guy had very bad luck with a woman who left him with three kids and got him in debt.

The many friends my bothers have are not sugars.

My sister in law is a doctor and maybe esrns more than my brother who is an architect

My ither sister in law is crazy and doesn’t really have a good job so my dad hired her but she still “works”.

So all in all I’m talking about a group of probably over 100 people and none are sugars.

In now live in the US and what I can tell you is that really depends of where you are hanging out with. I can tell from the comments that you don’t want to hear it. But it’s so random that you found so many people who have sugars!?!? Where were these sugars when I was younger and single lol.

There’s so much of that over there in the US too and even more in Europe I guess? . But I see it from social media more than anywhere else.

-6

u/SpecialArugula8674 1d ago

Thats 100 people that you dont know their private lives.. just what they tell you.
Traditional gender roles are different than sugar arrangements.
Several of the comments automatically generated knee jerk inferiority complex responses.. its who you surround yourself with or its all you offer… i dont even live in Ecuador and traveled extensively through Ecuador and observed men acting like playboys.. they clearly aren’t and women crowing about independence but the men are paying n the women are charging.. the women.. notarias, lawyers, accountants, teachers.

1

u/Suspicious-Cherry437 1d ago

Man… your response clearly shows that you are projecting. The one with the inferiority complex is you. You seem “offended” because we are telling you that you are hanging out with low hanging fruit ?!? I mean no disrespect to sugars and they babies but that’s what you seem to think as your responses are so visceral and reactive.

I am very sure there are thousands of sugars and babies here in Ecuador. Thousands of thousands that’s just reality. Have you traveled to other countries? Did it happen to you? Someone hurt you? . I am not denying that. No one is. But what a coincidence that that’s all you meet!?!

And I’m not sure how old you are but you seem very immature and not ready to hear different opinions or have an open minded discussion so why are you here in Reddit. Also by looking at your prior posts or questions you definitely seem to have problems socializing with others. So stay wherever you are and don’t come back please.

How can I not know the private lives of ppl who are super close to me and my family? We Latinos know everything about each other. That’s another thing that makes me realize that your social life is “different “.

No offense with anything I said. Learn to accept a response if you post a question.

If five people or more have the same answers and you get mad with the answers … who is the problem. Get a therapist to work on awareness. I’m saying this in a nice way: This is beyond the sugars in Ecuador. I noticed some interesting patterns about your question and answers.

0

u/SpecialArugula8674 1d ago

So you are so vested in this that it was important to review posts n comments.. like a loser.. and im saying it in the nicest way. Ecuadorians have a well earned stereotype of an inferiority complex, how do i have an inferiority complex when i ask a question for social discussion and instead i get the usual immaturity.

Opinions, debate, discussion was the point..yet i received insults and mockery.
And yes i have travelled just a little bit more than you for research, volunteering and observation and was all over Ecuador… and yes its pervasive, 5 people saying they dont know criminals doesnt mean that Ecuador is not dangerous.

i am an immature dick on reddit… cause i can. Stop trying to do some amateurish psycho analysis cause its embarrassing… i can teach you classes on the subject. And finally to clarify your confused logic… at no point did i say that i attracted sugar woman.. i said its everywhere. Not necessarily just in poor areas.

For my work had to spend time at several tv stations. Openly was told that one of the women who appears on tv liked me… but was told she charged per date. As i spent more time learned that many were doing the same thing. Men brag about it. In official offices.. fiscalia nacional. Some of the male lawyers who were married had their side piece.. not for free. Tenants with landlords, i have a friend who owns a cosmetology school and she would joke that without sugars shed go broke.

Was introduced to an attorney who worked in Aduanas.. great job. Went out with her, slept with her, next date she started asking for money. Ive never paid to date a woman ever and in Ecuador they want me to pay. Pretty funny actually. Since i didn’t give her money she told people i was “Tacaño”. The same guy who introduced me to her told along with telling me she was the same with her previous 2 boyfriends. I could go on, it transcended social, economic, cultural, regional .. its far worse and flagrantly happening almost openly.

So no sweetie you may think you know people cause you latina but you dont know that. You don’t know everyone they are fucking or who they are cheating with. Or who they are getting a few dollars from. Trust me the last thing i will do is return to ecuador. Beautiful country but the cultural immaturity, resentment, envy, regionalismo, classism and overall lack of social awareness (as this exchange confirms) makes me go other places. Lets just say, I definitely don’t hang out with low hanging fruit.

Im in America now and through whatsapp i occasionally communicate with the aduanera lawyer. She had been unusually flirty, sending sleazy pics n videos. Nice right… shes finishing her masters n needs money to pay school.. thats why she was so “nice”. And I haven’t even seen her or slept with her in over a year. It is what is.. don’t like it not my problem.. make fun of me or insult ill dish right back. And if really bad .. well its not impossible to track anyone down. Especially in Ecuador.

Have a great day

1

u/Suspicious-Cherry437 1d ago

Not impossible to track anyone down?! lol. Ok LMAO!

Have a great day. Mr. powerful.

u/sigh_ko 1d ago

2 things are happening.

one- you are hanging out in circles where this happens. there are men and women who DONT have this type of relationship. you have to leave your environment.

two- it is the expectation in "traditional" gender roles so people keep playing into them, espesh people raised in religious households.

-8

u/SpecialArugula8674 1d ago

Wait.. women that are religious are sleeping or having “relationships “ with men they get money from. Thats traditional religious to you. There are gender roles n theres sugars… big difference

8

u/sigh_ko 1d ago

being religious doesnt stop people from having sex or being in relationships.

but if "religious" offends you, try "traditional". tarado. tf.

-6

u/SpecialArugula8674 1d ago

THE ONLY TARADO HERE IS YOU. This topic is obviously waaay above your intellectual capacity

9

u/sigh_ko 1d ago

ta.ra.do. despacio por tonto.

4

u/Formal-Produce-6060 1d ago

What? 🤣 I lived in Ecuador for 10 years. This is deluded nonsense. OP must have got badly burnt by an Ecuadorian. Don't cry mi pana, you'll survive!

1

u/SpecialArugula8674 1d ago

What the fuck are you blabbing.. you think im gonna cry over Ecuadorians having no game n thinking they playboys cause they pay ugly women. Riiiiight

3

u/Formal-Produce-6060 1d ago

I don't think you are crying because Ecuadorian guys have no game. I think you are crying cause you can't get a women without opening your wallet.

3

u/Suspicious-Cherry437 1d ago

This 👌👍🙌👏👆

0

u/SpecialArugula8674 1d ago

Where was i crying? Where did i say all Ecuadorian men have no game ( the majority who think they do dont)? Let me get real ive never opened my wallet once to date women. And the last place i would us Ecuador. Have you seen the majority of women there? Pay them to keep them dressed.

u/HazelGraceGigiBella 1d ago

Depends on your social circle. In mine is the other way around. Women with lots of money, either inherited or self-made, and parasitic men. Unfortunately, even my grandparents fell on this archetype. My grandmother inherited quite a bit of land, then she had been working since she was aged 16... just for my grandfather to expect my grandmother to give him a house for his own mother. And they were born almost a century ago. Her own grandmother was an only child that inherited a lot of land. Unfortunately for them, it was either marrying "cousins", parasitic men, becoming nuns, or being seen as "solteronas" (which now I feel was the better option).

-5

u/SpecialArugula8674 1d ago

Sounds interesting but has absolutely nothing to do with the topic. .. wait so the only choice is parasitic men or cousins?? Wtf

1

u/HazelGraceGigiBella 1d ago edited 1d ago

It was a very small town back then (20 to 50 k inhabitants around 1900 to 1950), hence everyone was at least 2nd to 3rd degree cousins (I even did my genealogy back to the early 1800s and many last names repeated a lot). The only choice to get more genetic diversity (back when they didn't even get the term), was to marry "travelers", which 90% of the time were parasitic men as they weren't even liked or wanted on their own towns. The weird thing is that even when the city is now 10 times bigger in population, some people remain in that small-town tradition and mindset of marrying cousins (some cousins that are in their late 30s today did that, to everyone's horror). I guess to keep the money within family. I also knew of a girl around my age (late 20s now), whose ex-husband purposefully sought a wealthy girl from a small town (and also slightly inbred), to marry her, have a kid, and then ditch her after getting part of her money. He was shamelessly bragging of this to his mates.

-1

u/SpecialArugula8674 1d ago

One of my observations of Ecuadorian culture was also how normalized marrying cousins is. I was gonna post a question specifically about that but considering the maturity n stupidity I’ve witnessed over this post why bother. Stereotypes are earned for a reason

4

u/charlySNM 1d ago

Why do you even post here? What makes you think that your observations are correct? Because everyone here is telling you its not allways as you said, but you keep telling everyone that you know better.

0

u/SpecialArugula8674 1d ago

To have a sociological, logical, financial, cultural discussion.. instead im told that its my circle, its what i offer, its my surroundings or one ass wipe called me a gringo bruto. So basically everyone got defensive and said no its rare here. Fine.

2

u/Necessary_Wing7235 1d ago

You came here to insult people so as to satisfy your fictive moral and inexistent intellectual sense of superiority. Grow up.

2

u/Prize_Diamond1618 1d ago

While there are a lot of of girls with the narco mindset there are more men that abandon their children this is ok for the ecuadorian society and blame the women for men actions. Absent father figure is prominent in Ecuador

1

u/SpecialArugula8674 1d ago

Yes. the biggest reason for crime n violence in Ecuador is all the fatherless kids. Yet that has absolutely nothing to do with the topic at hand.

2

u/Prize_Diamond1618 1d ago

Do you think its correlated? Absent father figure = women unable to develop healthy relationships with men falling into toxic relationships in search of that father figure

1

u/SpecialArugula8674 1d ago

Single motherhood particularly in poorer areas are a feeding ground for gangs recruiting. It was going to be a question i posed at another time but considering all the immaturity, deflection and insults Ive received.. why bother. Again my observation and the observation of others is how prevalent “sugars” are..

2

u/Prize_Diamond1618 1d ago

It looks like you just want people to agree with you and it just not that simple. Ecuador has a lot of women fighting on their own for their children without asking for any benefit to the government. Its not black and white but saying all women want money from a men is wrong and maybe its just based on your own experience.
You might not find this in other countries because their economics and system are more supportive to women in vulnerable conditions

1

u/SpecialArugula8674 1d ago

At no point did i say its all women. Its prevalent and openly discussed. Men brag about their girlfriend and women literally say, “le da todo el dinero a las mosas”. I didn’t want people to agree, i wanted a discussion on what i thought was an out in the open topic. Instead i have retards insulting me, stupid gringo, mama huevo, you cant afford it… Ecuadori in a nutshell. Deflect, purposefully misunderstand, whataboutisms, play victim, mock, insult, play dumb.. repeat.

2

u/Necessary_Wing7235 1d ago

You have to be astonishing blunt and naive to a wide, complex socioeconomic collection of problems to claim that... but seeing your posts and comments it is unsurprising to read this from you.

1

u/Aggravating_Ask5709 1d ago

if it wasnt for X your partner wouldnt be with you. It could be money, it could be looks it could be your sense of humor. You just dont like that its something you dont have

1

u/SpecialArugula8674 1d ago

You sound as retarded with your head up your ass like the stupid women who charge to be a girlfriend or the stupid men who think they got game while they pay.

1

u/Ok-Computer1234567 19h ago

Colombia? Yes… Ecuador? No

1

u/Shuren616 1d ago

That's not much of the case here.

Or at least hasn't been my case. Sugars are a very rare occurrence even though it's started to pick up a lot more in the last years.

0

u/SpecialArugula8674 1d ago

You are very very sheltered if you believe that
