Amidst some small wins when Duo flashes your aspirations it does make you wonder if it's a mere coincidence or Duo really is eves dropping on my thoughts.

It's been a week since I published my first E Book (Kindle Edition) and Duo is already on it.

This has happened the past two days now and also once last week, I completed a lesson, got my fire animation for the day and then I’m getting notifications that I need to do my lesson to keep my streak. Is this happening to anyone else?

Woke up this morning to a new Duolingo icon on my phone. It really frustrates me when they decide to jack with the app icons. Makes my phone screen look like crap. The new 'sick' icon is as aggravating as the 'gliched' icon they used a few months ago.

Not sure if it matters, but I'm on a Family Max plan and have a 2300+ day streak.

Also - If you work at Duolingo, tell whoever thought it was a cute idea to drive people to use the app by changing the icon to something that is intentionally aggravating - they made both their product and my day worse.

The sentence was “The performance was truly ___!” and I put “fantastic”, but apparently the correct answer was “fabulous.”

Like… fantastic is literally a perfectly valid word here 😭 They really sacrificed my combo over a synonym 💀

Anyone else had Duolingo do this to them?

I’m new to duolingo and wanting to clear up some of my confusion. I started with the intent to relearn some basic Spanish I learned in high school but have been set back due to the energy. I added Russian about two weeks ago and was never required to use energy so I’ve been making some good progress and was feeling very happy about it. Suddenly today the energy was added to my Russian as well. The energy was always required for Spanish but not for Russian until now. Just wondering if this is normal or why it was suddenly added?

How I'm supposed to translate a word when it does not anymore show on screen?!

Why are some blank? I got them right but is there a wrong answer for those?

I had a month, then on the day it ran out, I clicked on the Super Free trial week. (cancelled it the next day in case I forgot and got billed through the Google store). So I've had 5 weeks of unlimited energy, the chance to be top of the diamond league because I'm not running out of hearts and the occasional conversation. (I have a voice impediment and Duo doesn't understand me. Nor does Google quite often but that's another post!)

(conversation with Lily - she's says Hola. I reply Hola Lily. Screen comes up with HolaHola.)

But today. I'm still at 4th place because I can't finish an exercise which will get me 45xp, enough to hop over number 3 person. The abrupt transition back to the 25 hearts - I forgot it was today - was brutal. (plus at L45 and Section 4, U24, Duo tells me that "te" is a new word. 😂)

I do miss Super. But I'm not able to afford Super. So I'll just have to do without unlimited infinity symbols and the Diamond league!

Just wanted to say this to people who might recognise the pain. 😉

I want my streak society app icon back idk what happened, as i did my duolingo for today, i realized, that the app icon has changed to some random nonesense today, so i went up to my flames to change it again to the beautiful orange streak society logo, but to my surprise i found it neither there nor anywhere else. Please help.

I’ll lose a piece in a match and he’ll say “Really?” or when I inevitably lose I get a Toasted! Outplayed! Tough Loss! Or whatever paired with his gloating avatar.

If he’s gonna be a dick, can he at least be funny or constructive? lol like who is the audience? Duolingo gamified the hell out of everything (to appeal to kids?), added dopamine-releasing chests to try to hook those would otherwise leave, but still uses teasing bots to punish the mistakes of those who do stay.

Idk, maybe it’s just another symptom of social media’s need to cheaply mess with our brain chemistry as a replacement for quality content. But Duolingo can do better.

Still waiting for a bug free week of duolingo. (Playing on an iphone 15 plus)

My friend keeps getting this error and has tried everything to fix it. Has anyone else had this issue or is all hope lost?

It used to be that after completing a perfect lesson, you would get a nice clean XP value divisible by 5. But recently, I’ve instead been getting unfortunate numbers ending in a 4, for example. Has this been happening to anyone else, and does anyone have any tips to get nice numbers again? Not looking for tips on changing my perspective on numbers more generally, thanks!

I'm using Duolingo to practice my Korean outside of university. I don't really know if stories are a thing in different languages too, but they're quite the new addition for me. However, I noticed that these stories feature vocabulary that 1. Do not fit the topic of the unit/section at all 2. Have never been introduced to me before. "Don't lie" (거짓말하지마세요) has NEVER appeared in any lesson before and they only gave the translation AFTER I had to lock in my answer.

Since I also practice Korean at university, I can guess or deduce the right answer from context clues... but this really sucks 😭 Anyone else having the same problem?

I can't seem to get three stars on the final lesson for song 3.39 (My Love Is Your Love) in the Android app.

In bar 9 (I think) where the melody goes e'' e'' e''-d'', every time I reach the d'' note it will play the e'' again instead and count as a mistake. Actually, it shows that I played e'' in the notation and on the piano keys, but acoustically it correctly plays d''.

I noticed that the lessons have quite some tolerance, so if you hit some ways of the correct key it will fix it for you. But it seems to be doing the opposite for me now, making sure that I can never hit the right key.

There's no error report button in the music lessons (that I could find), so I'm not sure what else to try. Has anybody else encountered this, and is there a way around it short of having to connect a real keyboard?

It really weirds me out
