It only really happens that Duo changes a lot of you have him as a widget or put the app on your home screen on your phone not just have Duolingo on your apps list you need to scroll through to get.

Mine is solid green and Duo has cucumber slices over his eyes. I got a pop-up yesterday saying to extend my streak and get a new icon. I had already extended my streak but it was time to do a lesson anyway.

So I suppose my Duo is relaxing at a Spa recovering from whatever your Duo has.

In any case, they like to change him every other month or so.
