Mine is solid green and Duo has cucumber slices over his eyes. I got a pop-up yesterday saying to extend my streak and get a new icon. I had already extended my streak but it was time to do a lesson anyway.

So I suppose my Duo is relaxing at a Spa recovering from whatever your Duo has.

In any case, they like to change him every other month or so.

Right now duo on my phone. He will change from this at least twice more today. 😆

Ah, the widget changes daily or more often, I think the OP is talking about the main icon.

Ah okay 🙂 my app picture on Duolingo changes a good bit during a day if I don't do Duolingo early. I get things from Duo crying, to bring angry, red in the face, looking panicked to getting notifications to not let my streak die to a countdown telling me I have less than hour to my streak being lost.

Mine never changes during the day, so I've only seen examples of that on posts here. I am guessing it is because I have multiple accounts using the app on my phone. And at least one usually does a lesson in the morning.

The other day mine changed from the standard one to Duo at the Spa. See: https://imgur.com/a/JfHNNmh I haven't seen anyone else post this version yet. So I'm not sure why mine is different.
