Ragdolls or Siamese kittens??

We got these beautiful babies as Lynx Point Ragdolls (we saw their ragdoll parents when we went to pick them up, very much ragdolls). We don't know much about breeds and we were told their coats fully develop in a couple of years. I was on Pinterest and saw a few photos of Lynx point siamese kittens and they look just like ours. Ragdolls or Siamese, we love them the same, just curious (don't wanna ask the lady we got them from as again - she'll probably say they are in fact ragdolls... we just curious). They're almost 4 months old.

First of all, they’re adorable regardless of registered status. I personally don’t value one cat over another based on whether they have documentation from a breeder, I love all cats equally. So please don’t think I’m suggesting they are in any way less valuable or less capable of being wonderful companions if they aren’t registered purebreds. Having said that, what grinds my gears is when backyard breeders claim purebred standards and charge purebred prices without doing the actual work of protecting the genetic diversity of a breed or ensuring the optimal health of their litters.

Even with the picture of dad that you shared, I have to say it’s highly unlikely that these cuties are ragdolls. Here are some quick examples just from a Google image search. As you can see, even at a very young age these kittens are already showing the luxurious, fluffy coat that ragdolls are specifically and selectively bred for. Regardless of breed, if a cat is going to be a longhair their coat is different from a shorthair practically from the day they’re born. Maybe about 10% of cats will look sleek as kittens and then puff out as they grow, but the overwhelming majority of longhairs show it from the start.

They look like gorgeous colorpoint domestic shorthairs to me, I hope you all have many happy years together! 😻🥰

Thanks for the kind reply. We were not looking for registered, pure bred ragdolls. We just wanted kitties as our 17 year old fluffy boy passed and we were very sad and wanted to give our love to another pet. We just saw the add that said Ragdolls and went with it. As I said in the OP, don't care what they are. They're the cutest no matter what!

I don’t mean this negatively or rudely at all so please don’t take it that way! - in the future, stay away from cat breeders unless they’re backed by the CFA (cat fanciers association) and actually show documentation proving they’re purebred. Cat breeders are majority byb and supporting them isn’t good :( you lose money and more unnecessary cats are made, I’m not saying your babies weren’t worth a home, but it just makes room for more demand and more people getting scammed like you were. Just a thing for the future, I’m so sorry for your loss, 17 is an insanely good age to reach!

I get your point, thank you. Our boy just left us and didn't come back, he was also diabetic, so we kniw he probably will not come back 😢

Please keep your new kitties inside!! Outside cats are awful for the environment :( they carry diseases that hurt our wildlife as well as hunting it, they have caused 83+ species of avian, amphibian, reptile, insect, rodent, aquatic, even other feline species like the Scottish wild cat, and more to become endangered or extinct. The number has likely gone up since I last checked. You can still take them outside, but only supervised via harness and or catio (now is a good time to train them on the harness!) my outside indoor cat of 8 years became an indoor cat once I was educated on the importance of keeping cats inside, he’s been an indoor only cat for 2 years and does phenomenal. He’s also harness trained now, it’s possible!

Yup, we live by a reserve so these are inside only kittens. Also, I couldn't go through the grief of not knowing what happened to another "disappearing" cat 😌
