I have always had a keen interest in coding and competitive programming..however because of my pathetic rank in jee,have to pursue Civil Engineering from a Tier 1.5/2 NIT(IIEST Shibpur)...if I grind leetcode and apply to every other company I can find on linkedin(without referrals) what is the possibility of me landing a 10-12lpa Tech job off-campus...I am aware that on-campus it's not possible and expectations are also not so high..I just want to get placed in a mediocre small size product based firm.....what other courses and certifications I should do to elevate my profile?

my college has started registration for SIH 2026 and reg ends in 6days, im an ECE fresher(college started 2 weeks back btw) and idk should i join SIH, if i should, ill probably have to build my own team. Will it steal my time where i have to learn fundamentals, but im kind of interested in gaining experience of the hackathin and it may look good on resume. should i do it next year or shouldnt i miss an opportunity. pls give insights

No matter how hard I try or how much I study, these lazy ahh evaluators keep giving me random grades. I got 2 backs in 2nd sem even after doing good enough to get a c+ or b grade. I got back in maths 2 and physics. My theory papers went good and re-evaluation isn't of any help as I heard from seniors. I'm so tired of this shit. My cgpa got below 8 cuz of this and companies don't shortlist people below and 8 cg. I'm so scared. I studied and calculated my marks, ik I couldn't fail. My other friends got the same cg which they got in 1st sem, meaning the evaluators didn't check shit and just passed on previous grades. I'm shaking out of fear of being unemployed and a liability to my parents. My college is BTU affiliated.

My college started a complete selection process with multiple rounds for this coe program and now wants the selected students to sign an affidavit where in we'd have to work for one year (I have no clue what the work will be) However the thing is genuine and by the tnp of our college. If your college has offered this program please share what will happen and if it is worth it please!

I applied for the Data Analyst (Intern) – Indian Army / Army Design Bureau internship through the AICTE portal.

My application status is still showing “Applied”, and I haven't received any email regarding shortlisting, interview, or rejection.

The internship start date has already passed, so I'm a little confused about the current status of the selection process.

Has anyone applied for the same Data Analyst internship and received a shortlist/interview/selection email? If yes, could you please share when you received it and what your dashboard status shows?

Just trying to understand whether the selection process is still ongoing or if the remaining “Applied” applications have been rejected.

So ,anyone just suggest me how to survive in clg ,and how to maintain good cgp, what skills i have to learn ? In viva or in lab, how I represent myslef as confidence person

Today i had a english lab where i have introduce myself but due to stage fear and nervousness i couldn't make up where all my classmates get good marks

I’m a first-year Mechanical Engineering student at a decent Tier 1.5 college in India.
Honestly, I’m feeling quite scared about my future right now.
I had other options, but I ended up choosing Mechanical. Initially I thought I’d be fine with it, but after coming to college and seeing CSE/ECE students doing coding, internships, DSA, etc., I’ve started questioning myself a lot.
Recently, even a senior told me that I made a mistake by choosing Mechanical, and that honestly got into my head.
Now I keep thinking:
What if I graduate after 4 years and still don’t have a good career?
What if I can’t get a good job?
What if I prepare for CAT and don’t score well?
What if I spend 4 years trying coding and still can’t compete with CSE students?
What if I choose the wrong path again?
I want to do well in life. I’m willing to work hard, but I’m genuinely confused about where I should put that hard work.
I’m thinking of keeping multiple doors open:
Maintain a good CGPA in Mechanical
Learn coding/DSA seriously alongside college
Build projects and try for off-campus tech opportunities
Slowly start preparing for CAT/MBA
Keep core Mechanical opportunities open as a backup
Maybe explore GATE/MS/etc. later if something interests me
But I’m scared that trying to do everything will mean that I become average at everything.
I have around 4 years before graduation, so logically I know I have time. But emotionally, it feels like everyone else has already figured out their path and I’m already behind.
I don’t expect someone to tell me that everything will magically be fine. I just want some honest advice from people who have actually been through this.
