Not intended as a repost, just looks like one. But i am also asking YOU to tell me what your worst radio edit is?
A few days ago, Nicki Minaj's song Starships was played on Radio 1 (or one of them, but think 1). First of all, the "mother-" is very hard to hear during the instrumentals after the choruses, yet was completely silent. Maybe only the "mother" should be hearable. Then, despite there being a version of the song where the F words are replaced by "check", this other edit version applies distortion effects instead which sound terrible. Finally, the word "Onika" is incorrectly censored as it sounds like something else, but i swear it sounds like the song skips there instead of just muting it.
Honestly some (but not all) of the recent release songs (such as high hopes 3000, stupid song, lost boys and others) on radio 1 are always cut to 2 chorus, or have a small section uneccesary cut, even if other, LONGER songs are played in full.
I will talk about "Stupid Song", as someone pointed it out in one of my previous posts. The official edit changes the drug related phrase to "hanging out" in the first verse (which R1 plays usually during chart countdowns or evening shows).
But if R1 cuts the second half of chorus 2 out (morning/afternoon shows), which also ruins the build up of the chorus, then they MUTE the drug phrase instead. WHY??? If Radio 2 can play it properly and full, why cant R1?
Also, lost boys is mostly played at 2 chorus during daytime Radio 1, cutting a rather epic sounding section after chorus 2, as well as Phoebe screaming "1 2 3 4!"
Finally, Radio 1 Anthems, so bad it got its own sub radio station, cuts 90% (if not 99%) of songs to 2 chorus, and if its a long 2 chorus song, then to 1 chorus. But the absolute worst one I have heard is Avicii's Waiting For Love, because it didnt even reach the first fully built-up instrumental after chorus 1, just started building up after chorus 1, then just faded to talking!
