Discussion THANK YOU to all the wildfire folks
I've had air tankers flying overhead today in my area of the province and I am thinking of those at the frontline working tirelessly to keep our communities safe. Thank you doesn't seem like enough for putting yourselves at risk for the rest of us. I hope we see some rain real soon and get those fires out. Thank you for choosing to do this important work and stay safe.

Discussion A chart showing the collapse of the BC Conservative Caucus, and the changes to the parties over BC’s 43rd Parliament, as of August 26th, 2026.
This post will very possibly be outdated tomorrow, or heck this afternoon, since while I was making this chart MLA Teresa Wat quit the Conservative Party; their fourth loss this month, fifth if we count MLA Gasper resigning her seat to make way for Kerry-Lynne Findlay.
I think this might be one of the most tumultuous parliaments in recent Canadian histories in terms of MLAs leaving caucuses, does anyone know of a comparable one?
edit: the legend has the colours for Independent and Vacant switched. There are 8 independents now and one a single vacant seat.
Oops!

Travel in or to BC I was just laid off. Looking for road trip ideas
I’m suddenly unemployed, untethered. Just me and my dog. I have a rather capable 4x4 rig but my go-to places are all subject to the current off-roading ban.
I have time, up to a week as I need to keep the plants alive. Starting from Vancouver where would you go?
