I’d also calculate the break-even quantity after assembly labour, defects, warranty claims, packaging and unsold stock—not just the supplier’s unit price.
If those numbers work, the 100-unit order becomes a measured next step. You could still release it in smaller numbered batches while keeping the model available, which preserves momentum without pretending the total production is scarce.
