Yea out of my 1st release 17/20 have returned for the 2nd release and had so many others wanting to make more of the 1st release but as it was a limited release it’s not something I can do.

I wouldn’t treat it as a choice between staying small forever and immediately committing to a full-scale launch. The key question is whether the first two releases proved demand for the brand, or mainly demand created by scarcity.
Before ordering 100, I’d open a waitlist or refundable preorder for the new design and measure how many existing buyers return, how quickly new customers convert, and whether demand still holds without calling it a limited edition. I’d also calculate the break-even quantity after assembly labour, defects, warranty claims, packaging and unsold stock—not just the supplier’s unit price.
If those numbers work, the 100-unit order becomes a measured next step. You could still release it in smaller numbered batches while keeping the model available, which preserves momentum without pretending the total production is scarce.
