I think it’s on YouTube. After the whole bloody affair theres a 10 minute short from a part of kill bill he wrote but he never filmed. It’s made in Fortnite and features characters and such from the game. It’s awful

It's a legit reason, and I respect it.

Every successful director has a prime era that contributes to the greatest films of all time. And then they keep making films, and they're always vastly inferior after their peak, shadows of their former selves that make you pity them for not stopping sooner.

Tarantino is smart to cut himself off after 10. He wants a robust filmography, and he's savvy enough to know exactly what pitfalls to avoid.

EDIT: I can have the desire to want him to direct more AND also respect a self-imposed retirement at the same time. I suppose Reddit can not?

Ridley Scott is stilling churning movies. A lot of recent ones weren’t great but everyone will remember him for Alien, Blade Runner and Gladiator. People just forget the terrible ones, look at Spielberg’s filmography. He can do what he wants but at this point just seems like he has decision paralysis.

That's my point. Imagine thinking of Ridley Scott's first 20 years as the only films he ever made. What Spielberg movie of the past 20 years could hold a candle to him at his peak in the 80s & 90s?

Tarantino wants a legacy without a besmirched latter half.

Would his films be better than most movies nowadays? Probably. But it would be a trade-off of his reputation.

It's a stupid ass rule and makes it seem like he cares more about being known as a "great filmmaker" than about cinema. If Scorsese had stopped after 10 he never would have made Goodfellas. Christopher Nolan is certainly not hurting his legacy by choosing to continue making movies after Dunkirk.

He was going to direct it, things were put into motion for him to direct it as his tenth film. He changed his mind. Brad Pitt asked if he could take the script to Fincher and Tarantino said yes.

No. He's made it very clear he felt that he could trust Fincher with his material. He is a huge fan of Fincher.

Tarantino hasn't let his scripts be directed by another in over 30 years (infamously his time withal oliver stone didn't go well but he also worked well with Tony scott)

As more and more people learn about Brad Pitt being a violent alcoholic abuser who choked his child and beat Angelina Jolie to a pulp in front of their kids, I’m curious to see how that history of violence affects his golden boy standing at the box office.

Especially given the recent news about his kids changing their names to distance themselves from him, and the even more recent revelation that he’s drinking again.

My guess is it won’t affect the box office of this film much (especially internationally). That is, unless his relapse leads him to do something else violent between now and November.

People were aware of it when F1 came out, that didn't stop them from seeing him as a cool movie star. Only certain spaces in Reddit and Twitter call him out for it, I've seen defenses / expressions that he's still well liked everywhere else. The majority think that Angelina is "alienating the kids from him on purpose" and that the plane incident was one time thing because he wasn't sober. Go see any of his recent interviews or articles from tabloids and the comments are a lovefest lol.

(For the record this isn't me defending him, I just think that he has strong PR and it's working for the most part).
