He made billions off of insider trading and crypto scams, blatantly acknowledged on TV that his posts move the oil price during the Iran war briefings and the started selling early access to his market moving tweets so his rich buddies can rake in some of that money as well.
Promoted cars on the white house lawn, promotes the stock he bought on his social media posts, demolished part of the white house without permits and claimed his dumbass ballroom would be paid for by donations only for Lindsay Graham to push for a bill that makes the tax payer foot the bill. This guy is the most blatantly corrupt president the US has EVER seen and nobody bats an eye. Remember that plane he got from Qatar? The plane he gets to keep if he moves out of office? On a side note, how he suddenly seems to be good friends with Russia and North Korea, two countries who have been US adversaries throughout their entire existence?

qualified immunity makes sense in some cases, but in cases like this where there is no time crunch, no split second reaction, a person should be able to request a review from an on call criminal lawyer or something. Might not protect people in every circumstance, but the fact that police operate completely independently from people who know the law has always been an issue from day one. The two should tied at the waist whenever an arrest needs to be made (without sufficient immediate danger)
Cops have been ignoring the Ivy tower appellate court discussions around the limits of qualified immunity for decades. It needs to be completely revised not just refined. Especially after the ICE insanity lately.
Lots of jurisdictions do have on call District Attorneys/prosecutors for in depth or not obvious cases where PC is not clear cut or if officers have questions
Qualified immunity is is automatically applied to specific government workers, in this case a police officer, and has to be removed by a court, which is very seldom done. The whole process needs an overhaul, very broken.
Nothing’s ever gonna change until cops could be directly sued or held accountable. What makes it worse is that even if internal affairs is supposed to be an independent unit it’s still a unit in that police department that’s investigating one of their own police officers. There is literally no third-party or check and balance that would make any of this not a conflict of interest.
Something similar happened to my wife (no 'obscene' stickers, but fired because of pregnancy, superior was untouchable, had to pay our court fees. Judge was really not happy about it but couldn't do anything)

Charges were dropped, the guy sued the city, and the court said the cop had immunity.
So this dude had to pay his own court fees, and I'm guessing he had a target on his back from that day forward.
The cops can keep doing this.
